After my stint in the industry (which was much less intensive/years experience than you 2) I barely got passed the oil change / brakes level of it all before I realized working on cars wasn’t for me just because I had such a love for cars as a hobby . But after my years doing it - what I tell anyone looking to work on cars for a living , if this isn’t something you’ve be doing almost as long as you remember , don’t bother trying to make a good living in this field . It’s not really probable that you will come in to this field with little to no knowledge , pick up a book - go to school (ATC, etc) and become a productive and/or well paid technician . But , If this is something you’ve always done and have pretty extensive knowledge on it just from working on your own cars or side work etc , then sure you can make some money . Just my opinion lol
