    Bravo Canon for this video and software. Just what I need for my 5D MK III. I'm digitizing thousands of family photos, slides and negatives into Lightroom and this will allow me to do the job in less than 5 lifetimes with a desktop scanner. Well Done!

    Great video!! I've had my EOS Rebel T6 for about a year now and I just discovered that this camera can even do this!! I take so many still photos that are wasted because I can't see them all that well in the view finder so I googled if this camera can be viewed on a computer monitor (I didn't even know what it was called) and then I came across this video and a few others explaining how to set it up and now my next shoot will be AWESOME!! Not to mention time saving. So thank you!!

    I remember commenting a couple of months ago trying to find a solution! I found it. You just need a mini usb to connect your camera to laptop and that solved my problem. I wasn't able to get the eos utility to open and it worked!

    Thanks. I learned a few things from this, even though I've been using EOS Utility for awhile. I have two cameras that I use for product photography. One is a 77D on a tripod connected wirelessly, and the other is an SL1 on a copy stand always connected through USB. I only turn one on at a time, but I use both using live view with touch shutter enabled. They work great using this software and it saves time transferring files to my computer, because they are already there right after shooting.

    Excellent video! I really appreciate the tip to hold the cable in your hand to keep it from being jerked out of the camera. I shot tethered once about ten years ago and had the opposite happen. I was backing up while viewing the model through the viewfinder and the cable reached its limit. It acted like a rope and literally jerked the camera from my hands! Down it went onto a concrete floor. Crack! Hard lesson learned.

    Hello: While EOS Utility will allow you to remotely control your camera, it is not designed to be a streaming software or interface. If you are using third party software to stream the EOS Utility Live View, you may wish to check with that software manufacturer for recommendations. We hope this is useful.

    Hi Daniel: The thermometer symbol appears when the camera’s internal temperature becomes too high. It is part of the safety features of the camera. There is a shortcut to the information: Canon.us/l4fw2. We hope this helps.

If you have other questions our camera support agents will be happy to walk you through the process. For support you can log into your My Canon Account and register your product. First of all the Preferences button is grayed out so I can not change my post processing software to Lightroom. I had the EOS Utility with my 600D. And that screwed up my computer at that time( Windows Vista) But the EOS Utility CD was not with the 70D I bought. Is it better to use Lightroom 5 when shooting tethered?

  • @CanonUSA

    @CanonUSA

    9 жыл бұрын

    Svein Arne Grønnevik Hi, Svein! For the most reliable tethering, we recommend using Canon's EOS Utility application. If you're having trouble running the application, we recommend installing it from the CD first. The CD for your EOS 600D should work for this. Once the program is installed, visit the EOS 70D downloads page at bit.ly/1hVGNoJ and get the update for EOS Utility. This will give you the most up-to-date version of the application, and it should take care of any compatibility issues your computer's OS may have with it. We hope this helps!

    Svein Arne Grønnevik Hi, Svein! If you're in the United States, you can order a replacement CD from Canon USA by contacting our technical support team at bit.ly/ContactCanon We noticed, however, that you referred to your old camera as an EOS 600D, which is the international name for the camera known in North America as the EOS Rebel T3i. It sounds like you might not be in the United States. If that's the case, we encourage you to visit www.canon.com and select your part of the world. From there, we invite you to get in touch with your regional Canon support team, and they can guide you further. We hope this helps!

    I purchased a Canon EOS M and tethering doesn't work...so much for Canon continuity in the EOS family of cameras. Be very careful when you purchase a Canon camera ...you might not get what feature you think it will have. The newer M3 has a slower shooting rate than the earlier model M. It's really a bummer when you get a later model but find that features have been discontinued.
