i have a hot take that he actually meant to say confiscate, even though in this context commandeer would make more sense, confiscate and accommodate share more verbal similarity. This, in essence, makes it a double error as the word he was trying to use wasn't the optimal one to begin with. I know i'll get a LOT of hate for this but someone has to speak up

teardown doesn't simulate structural integrity, as long as there's a single voxel connecting a piece it won't detach, rfg takes the structural conditions into play, so if you destroy major structural supports, then throw charges on the center of the roof, you can cause enough stress to a multi level structure to send it all crashing down.

All these years, and I never knew you could kill your Brother. They even included that hilarious Mission Failed response to it too! None of the other missions are worded like that. This game rules.

1:32:30 I can't believe "jerma stacking dead viewers' bodies in his house with maximum efficiency" hasn't become some 12M views animation yet

The way jerma can scamper between bullets like a cockroach and in the same movement get into a mining vehicle thats being shot is amazing

I remember playing this game as a kid, I wish they made a new one of those nowadays. Teardown almost scratched the same itch, but instead it became just a stress inducing puzzle game.

i highly recommend teardown with mods. there's insane weapons, detailed cities, asteroid strikes, orbital lasers, ac130s, etc. no time limits or alarms to worry about.

@@dan_loeb are there many custom campaigns? i kinda liked the time limit gameplay at first (emphasis on kinda) but tapped out when i got to part 2 and it just went insane. i've seen some of the mods but i'm not a big fan of "sandbox do whatever you want, we just made the tools and nothing else, you invent your own fun" because that tends to last maybe 3 hours

The EDF is actually Ultor corporation from Saint's Row 2 which is also developed by Volition.

Ultor is dismantled in Red Faction 1, which predates Saints Row 1, which is where they first appeared in that series as a clothing brand. The EDF was there to help the miners after the fact, but ended up basically putting everyone under new management more than anything.

I remember playing this on the Xbox 360 back-when, kinda super impressive looking at it now that they got it to run on there (and it ran well, from what I recall).

I still hold hope, that one day we'll get another Red Faction game

Mercenaries is like this but realistic.. Actually driving a truck threw the building to save the hostages was pretty sick lol

“Please make another one of these games!”. Ah, back when game design was a focus on fun and art and not monitization. Too bad the game after was a shitty linear shooter about aliens over EDF fun lol. It makes me so sad no game has ever matched Red Faction: Guerilla’s destruction. It’s the best one in the world with how detailed it is. And it even had multiplayer, it had so much potential. It really sucks we couldn’t get more of it or at least a similar engine in other games.

Red Faction is essentially the blueprint game for making good destruction which sucks because its a blueprint that nobody follows for some reason. The only game to come out that we can compare this to is The Finals which feels like the next evolution of virtual destruction while following Red Factions blueprint.

It absolutely was. Totally awesome. The backpacks you could get to do different abilities were sick, to the point where they added them to the single player campaign in the Remastered version.
