Story 1: How would he ever be the jerk in this situation? She left willingly after disagreements, had hidden the deeds of the house (most likely theft/destruction of legal documents, a crime itself), and called the cops under false pretenses to gain entry into a property she did not own. In no way shape or form the jerk.

It’s not the prank she was upset over. It was the fact the son said the women looked like pieces of art. Making the wife feel less than. That’s why she was upset. It wasn’t really the prank on the other women. She didn’t like it, but it was his “they are pieces of art” comment essentially. Just for those who didn’t get it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not to mention they were still teenagers. My mom got a rare auto-immune disease when I was fourteen, and it took away my childhood. She became cruel and vindictive. And to this day, I don't think I could ever forgive her for taking that from me and treating me badly for being tired of how she treated me because of it. I flunked my classes because I was CONSTANTLY taking care of her and my mentally handicapped sister. I have a feeling that that's why (I think it was) Kensi was having so much trouble in school.

I love it when seniors use their time and sense of humor to give jerks a bit of payback. I noticed that there are two main groups of elderly you encounter, one is the "back in the days it was better" and "the youth is lazy" kind, the other is the exact opposite. The fun and intelligent once that have more than enough free time to make jerks get what they deserve. The kind of grandma that see that a cashier is a pain to their coworkers and decide to come 15 times to the store, each time only buying a single carrot, and then paying to the cent (which obviously takes ages, since they are old and can't see well) to waste the jerk's time.

Im the oldest of 3, so i helped care for my siblings and helped him for years. Im in therapy now for things that happened before he passed. Helped with his medical issues, helped care for my siblings, youngest brother has autism... it was a lot. Ive struggled to come to terms with the fact that i will never know why he let this fall on me. There are somethings i understand he couldnt do anything about... but at some point he just gave up. This guy has no idea the kind of stress and trauma that comes from these situations.

Yeah that makes sense there seems to be some weird jabs towards the wife and her appearance which seems like such a characteristic red flag from the father in law and family but also I do think it is odd that it did seem like the wife wanted to turn the parents on the husband in order to hurt him hiding behind an excuse of “I wanted to tell the truth” the husband said “you know how my parents are” which I’m sure the OP does so essentially turning potentially overly snobby, annoying, and attacking people against the husband is not something I really like about the OP although I somewhat understand

My mom had keys to a house I was renting. I had been buying things for myself to set up housekeeping. She came in and saw I had 2 sets of new glasses and new, very nice flatware with all the extra things like a gravy ladle and desert server. She took them and replaced my nice glassware with jelly jar glasses and old silverware that was a jumble of silver plate and stainless. She was actually angry I had bought nice things and had not offered them to her and accepted her old things because that’s how children treat their parents “. I reminded her of how when she got married she had gotten a house full of things like living and bedroom furniture, silverware, dishes and glassware. My grandparents had to find money and totally refurnish their house in a 2 month period . Never saw that flatware or those glasses ever again.

It was a very funny situation to him, because these two women despise each other, and they’re wearing the exact same clothes women hate this in general. It was probably even worse cause they despise each other so what he meant to say was the situation was extremely funny, but he tried to make it sound poetic and that’s what got him in trouble.

Is that it rather than fight for my right not just an employee but as a person who worked hard to earn a living? Do you even know the whole story why I filed a labor case in the first place? That's the effects of watching too much stupid drama or being weak or afraid of fighting for what is right? My mom replied "don't talk to me like that I'm your mom" I answer yes your my mom but let me ask you this do you see me as a son for fighting my rights? You didn't wanna hear my side you just assumed I was wrong without knowing even my side if you really see me as a son you will support my rights or not being a one sided weak person and your excuse I'm your mother is invalid a mother wouldn't use that excuse for their wrong or stupid actions like what you are saying too me right now also don't influence me with your weak minded attitude if you can't fight for what is right that's ok with me but don't make me be like that I will fight my rights if I have to if you don't support me then stay quiet and don't lecture me about your weak attitude I'm not interested and I know I'm in the right. After that she walked away and give me dirty looks.

The son's mistake was to not change the locks to his part of the house before she moved in. She has no right to his personal space and the expectedéacceotable boundaries should have been made absolutely clear at the offset. Guilt tripping someone into accepting a family member's supremacy should never be tolerated. Giving someone life does not make them your life long subservient - and sometimes "mother" is just half-a-word.

So, I'm really curious about the story about the people who insisted on being seated even after the OP's wife said clearly that she didn't work there. I see an awful lot of stories like this, where a patron just completely ignores the very clear words, "I don't work here." I worked in the service industry for 20+ years and had more than my share of nasty, entitled, or otherwise discourteous customers, but I've never experienced or seen this particular brand of "karen-ness." Is this a new trend in entitlement, or was I just lucky in that regard? I mean, with most entitled people, I can understand some sort of rationale, even if it's ridiculous, but with this I just don't understand how someone can hear the words, "I don't work here." and still press for service. It's just something that bugs me to no end not being able to understand the thought process behind this one. Any insight would be greatly apreciated!

I've read the same book so many times, I'm on my 9th copy. Even my hard cover books have been read until they were in 7 pieces. But damn, Brother. You've got to assume some responsibility! If I'd been the wife in this episode, I'd have left him to wallow in his dirty clothes and go hungry until he got off his butt and did something!
