Sometimes you have no option but to defend yourself. And I’d much rather deliver a preemptive strike, than wait to get sucker punched by some “tough guy” lol. Glad someone else understands the reality of self defense/violence.

Such a soft ball pitch to say “Oh that’s amazing! We love new players, have you been interested in any TTRPG or wargames? We have a game at x time if you’d like to spectate or maybe I can find an open seat if you’re comfortable.” Instant recruit and probably some sales if you care about that.

hearing about Sophie actually makes the focuses of some of the goth fb groups i was in in the early 2010s make a lot more sense, sure goths were seen as weird but i guess i was lucky enough to not encounter the actual horrible people that are out there. honestly it make so little sense to harm others for wearing something that you don't like when it's something harmless like a different football team's colours or goth clothes and not you know actual badges of actually violent idologies like the spin offs of that one that the allies fought against in europe during ww2 (being vague since youtube doesn't like channels with the word in the comments section a lot of the time)

Typical British authority response. Find a single visible factor and crack down on that, to be seen to be "doing something", rather than addressing the actual issue. Great example right now. We just had a triple murder, when a guy murdered his ex-girlfriend, her sister, and their mother. Immediate british.gov response is to focus on the murder weapon (a crossbow) and promise to ban crossbows.

Yeah, the Yu Gi Oh story wouldn't happen in my part of the world. We were all skirmishers, even nerds and geeks. The Balkans is mess but it's a place that toughens you up real fast. By age 10 most of my friends and I were seasoned brawlers against kids up to 5 years our seniors. Hell I was even friends with the schools toughest guy, mostly because on day one of my grade 5 and his grade 6 we butted heads over me being a nerd. Needless to say we were both bleeding and lost teeth.

Jesus, I'm America. We have similar wastes of oxygen. Under many different names, some of them not repeatable here or anywhere. We did have some options for dealing with them that you didn't. Most bullies like that piss themselves when confronted with "equalizers," but that assumes you're old enough to come heavy. There was quite a bit of that in places, and It could get ugly. It's crazy how that went down. I'm glad the poster made it out safe.

It’s an acronym, stands for Council Housed And Violent. It’s a derogatory term for what basically amounts to hoodlums over in the UK. It was a big subculture, they loved to wear track suits, or the brand Burberry, anything that would be expensive, thinking it made them look good.

Just a specific period sub-breed of small-scale young scumbags. With England being a relatively small country, we tended to have nationwide trends of these groups, and chavs were the ones from that period. Not to take anything away from the story, but they were the same as the mods and rockers from the 60s, or the NF kids from the 80s, just in a different uniform. Generally white British, low-income, ready to take out their frustrations on anyone who didn't fit their tribe. Most of them (at least the ones I had interactions with) were individually cowardly and insignificant, but a group of them would wind each other up in the manner of such groups since the beginning of time, and violence / vandalism often ensued. Frequent targets included nerds, goths, Indians and Pakistanis, gays etc, as well as rival similar groups from other areas. Anyone they could "other", basically.

For one I don't think you finished your sentence I had to read it a few times to make sense of it. Second the police are notorious for failing to serve and protect correctly stuck on there power trips. Just the fact you said they probably don't want to be there an want to b solving real crimes explains there mentality and your statements flaws, in that one sentence. They should want to be there there being paid and it is the job they decided to take. all crime is real crime and they should take everything and all matters just as seriously as whatever you consider "real crime"
