HAH! Funny you should say that?! I've purchased THREE of the "Halmark Ornaments of the ST II Wrath of Khan Bridge" and I plan on using THIS model kit that i bought un-started at a rummage sale, and will combine the two to MAKE a decent Enterprise Re-Fit Bridge! :D I even plan on keeping the Ornament's "Sound Effects" to use with it! :D I will be using "Bridge Plans" bumped up on a copier to as close to the correct scale as possible to get the sizes for the walls and bridge stations! Wish me Luck?! :D

Besides the chairs, it really needs the turbo lift entrance area re-done. The whole wall is not just the doors. Nice job. I have an original vintage kit waiting in line to be done. So many ways to personalize it!

The 'greenish' planet is from the episode 'The Galileo Seven'. It's located inside the Murasaki Quasar. If you look closely you can see the shuttle burning it's remaining fuel as Spock gambles with a last ditch distress signal.

I had this kit as a kid and always thought it was a really cool kit. If I was to rebuild this I would create a floor from a piece of styrene so that there’s a better foundation. With that said, nice job and thanks for the video.

Just built this model/diorama. It is an awesome kit. My only complaint is having to decide if I was going to make Chekov or Scotty. I also took some acrylic and using a dremel tool I made a clear cover to protect the model from dust. Your video was a great inspiration.

Great job on the kit... very well done! 👏 One suggestion I'd like to make is that you hit your figures with some dull-cote or other flat spray to eliminate the shine; they all look like they're wearing plastic uniforms.

I have had this kit for some time now, but was somehow deterred from starting it - you have shown me that it is actually not that much work, mostly painting of large areas, a bit of masking, a fair amount of decaling (which I enjoy), plus the figures. The kit is now out from the basement and laid out in front of me :) many thanks for showing and encouraging! (Side-note: if you don't like your figures, a coat of matt varnish does a lot to improve them.)

Wow, this is really interesting because I just recently refurbished all of my Star Trek kits that I built in the 70s. A lot of parts where missing after I unpacked them from the boxes that they were stored in for almost 40 years. I used moldable plastic to rebuilt lost pieces. That Spock model was missing 2 of the hydras 3 heads so that was a challenge! I'm looking at my Enterprise, Klingon Battle Cruiser and Romulan Bird of Prey hanging from my ceiling as I write this! I also painted them, which I didn't bother to do when I was a kid. I really had a blast putting this bridge model back together. I took some liberties on the deck color but I love it! Sadly, only Kirk was left in the command seat. But looking at this model you've got I'm pretty sure that there's some updating that has been done. The figures seem to look better and of course there's all of the extras. The decals are COMPLETEY different! My main viewer features a Romulan Bird of Prey. That Balok decal was on the Tricorder in the exploration set; which I actually had to buy twice because I wore the first set out by playing "Star Trek" too much apparently. Anyhoo, I'm glad to see these all available!

I built this model when I was 15 years old using enamel paint. I have been buying up those key chain type video viewers. My goal was to make all the monitors with real monitors but everything is packed in boxes, who knows if I will ever get around to making this the way I intended using LED's and fiber optics. It's a good solid model and has been for years. It's nice they upgraded the thing.

Cool! Can't wait to add this to my pile waiting to be built... lol FYI, decals will always go down much better on gloss finish. I always spray down a really good gloss clear coat before putting down decals, then I'll spray a second gloss coat with leveling thinner to help seal in the finished decals and make them really look like part of the surface. Then I'll finish by adding matte or satin clear coats where or if needed.

Didn’t know there was a new release kit. Much more accurate then the original one. I remember buying two kits back when it first came out to make the bridge at least look complete. This one still ain’t accurate to the blueprints but it’s certainly an improvement. I am planning on going to Ticonderoga New York to tour the replica life size bridge and sets from original series. Good job on the build.

Great Job on the "Out of the box" build. I built one of the 2013 kits. I got two of them for the figures and because I botvhed the science station on the 1st kit. I did get an add on kit from Federation models, wIth a more accurate Captains chair, Science Staion computer, and Turbolift. I painted my Kirk with the green wrap around shirt, and moved Uhura's arms so she could be slightly sideways and looking towards the viewscreen while at work, for something different. I too would like to see a TMP./WOK bridge set come out. As that would be fun. The TNG Bridge would be a bit too "Plain" Unless they did it like the "Generations" set (Non exploding consoles though: lol)

Only thing more disappointing than that, was the way I botched the figure painting. I'm better now. I swear. lol Back when it was brought out with the extra panels. So obvious, but probably too expensive, to make the wall / console parts in transparent plastic, so they could be lit from behind. When I made this kit many years ago, I was building extra wall parts, duplicating the kit parts, swapping them from side to side to make a complete, round bridge, even putting the viewscreen opposite the command chairs, and made those experimentally from transparent plastic sheet. Oddly, they stood out too much as all the edges were finer and thinner than the kit parts (and closer to what was visible in the few photos of the bridge available then); I might have another go today...? A very few figures were available back then to make the missing crew members (Airfix did a series of SF figures in action poses), mostly they were converted Airfix 'multipose' soldiers or Scalextric figures of car-race watchers for the seated figs. The seats (several more needed) were actually the hardest thing to do; finding just the right curve in plastic blow-moulded packaging and legs from railway model parts.
