The song was rearranged from Rock to Pop to accomodate for Alessia Cara's voice (she sent her vocals from Canada to Mexico), then re-arranged back to rock, recorded, mixed and produced all in a single week to meet Metallica's deadline. This is track #1 on Metallica's anniversary Blacklist album.

This version of Enter Sandman was Recorded for the Metallica Blacklist Album and in the studio version they Teamed Up with Canadian Pop Singer Alessia Cara where she sings the First Verse and Dany sings the Second Verse and Pau the Drummer says the Prayer so next you have to check out the Official Music Video

All i would say is that they are both great versions in their own right .Then it just comes down to personal preference ! Plus i would recommend that you guys listen to these young ladies with head phones .

Thank you Anthony, I did not notice that...for 4 minutes I did not notice they were not listening with headphones! WTF! Unless they got some studio monitors that don't feedback through the mic, there's no way you can hear ANY band without headphones and react to them properly, let alone The Warning!

How i envy you guys. I remember a couple of years ago listening to everything The Warning for the first time . Ohhh good times. It is exactly the same feeling i get when i see reactors, reacting to Metallica for the first time. You know they are on the right musical track, just like you guys are with The Warning.

The Warning definitely have their own unique signature sound, but their music is composed to fit each individual song, not to conform to a specific genre. The one thing they do well in their music is to defy expectations!

Queen of the Murder Scene is one of their hardest...Dany's vocals are SOOOO GOOD on this one!

You heard what the rest of the army hears. This was the Warning's Enter Sandman. Watch the official version. It's dark as hell. What you will notice is that these ladies can get extremely HEAVY. Quite a few of their cuts have parts that make you head bang. Even the chorus in MORE slams. And the half time groove near the end is heavy. You two have to react to EVOLVE. It's their live show encore and is hard, heavy, and loud. The live and the official music vid are fire. Great reaction video!

Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara was invited by Metallica to record a song for their 30th anniversary celebration of the Black Album called the Blacklist Album. Artists were encouraged to twist the song around, turn it upside down and inside out to make it their own, but stay true to the lyrics. Alessia was not very familiar with Metallica so her management got in touch with The Warning to see about a collaboration. This was early 2021 in the middle of all the pandemic shut downs. They had 10 days to write, record, mix, and get the final version to Metallica. TW in Mexico, Alessia in Canada, and their producer in the US. In those 10 days TW stripped the song down to it's roots and then built it back up first as a pop song to suit Alessia's style and voice, and then added their own TW touch to the song. They managed to get their producer down to Monterrey for the recording, they recorded Alessia's vocals basically over a Skype like program, and got this whole song written, recorded, mixed and submitted to Metallica in 10 days. Metallica liked it enough to put it as the first track on the Blacklist Album, and when they have been approached about using Enter Sandman in some video game, show, or whatever, they have actually been submitting this version for those projects. Yes, every single TW song is good. Revenant is a powerful song that is acoustic. I might suggest that you really step outside of your comfort zone and check out either of their songs in Spanish from Teatro Metropolitan - Narcisista or Martirio. Seriously tho, every video from that show is phenomenal and the whole concert is worth checking out as they just released it yesterday. No, not all their songs will be super heavy metal or anything like that, but every single one of their songs is well constructed and their lyrics always have deeper meaning than most every other artist out there.

Actually the girls were asked. But since Alissa was the labels big artist the label would only green light it if they collaborated w Alissa. These ladies have been known to Metallica since their first video. That's why they were asked to do a sing for Blacklist. And they did an excellent job. If I'm not mistaken it's the first track on the album. The more you know..... Now guys you broke the chain of progression by not doing the official video done for Metallicas blacklist album before the live. And as they were told turn it inside out make it your own just dont change the lyrics. They did the rewrite in 1 week. They recorded separate than Alissa due to covid.

Alessia and The Warning are not on the same label but they shared an international agent and he suggested that Alessia contact The Warning. He also flew to Mexico to help with the production and the mixing of the song was done by their producer in NJ, USA. All songs on the album were placed like on the original album and since many groups recorded the same song they were placed in Alphabetical order. Metallica would never place them in an order that shows which song they prefer the most.

The slower songs performed at this concert are "Revenant", "23", "Amour", and "When I'm Alone".

Dany's voice is grittier than No Country for Old Men...and then it's soft and lovely like a choir of angels. Of the 6 ES covers on the Metallica Blacklist album, this is the only one that's significantly different, it's garnered the most KZread views, and imo is the best ES cover on the album. Another great reaction, you guys are a lotta fun!😂 🙌 🤘

I really liked your take on *not* directly comparing The Warning's Enter Sandman with Metallica's Enter Sandman -- they really are 2 different songs with the same lyrics. You guys are going to really love your journey with The Warning, and TWA will flood you with suggestions and the back stories. While Evolve is my favorite song, I'd say Revenant is their best song, be sure to watch the version from Teatro Metropolitan from the band; it is quite different than many of their songs but I think it shows off the range of musicality of The Warning, especially Pau.

Just so you’re prepared, Revenant is a beautiful acoustic ballad sung by the drummer Pau, so not hard rock but an example of the versatility of the band. Recommend any of the performances from the Teatro Metropolitan on their channel. Enjoyed your reaction! 😎👍

Based on your apparent preference for fast and heavy, I suggest Evolve, Dull Knives, Queen of the Murder Scene, and Ugh. All of these are available live from the same concert. Dull Knives has another classic performance from The Warning Cave (their basement studio). All four of these songs are in a huge logjam (with lots of others) at #3 on my personal list behind Survive and Martirio.

It's a great version, but there's no need to compare versions. You will find it grows on you and over time both versions stand alone. Personally I love Revenant but I'd get a few more rockers under your belt. This will help you appreciate Revenant more. Evolve, Error, or Dull Knives is what I'd suggest, and the live tracks always shine, though Dull Knives from their basement that they performed for a charity during the pandemic is what sold legions of people on The Warning, including Lzzy Hale from Halestorm.

They have two big challenges to do this version and only one week to do it. First the original guest to the Blaclist album was Alessia Cara, a grammy awarded pop singer / composer from Canada. But she don´t have any idea how to make a rock cover. Her manager is the same manager from The Warning in the USA and he gave the idea that the girls make a colaboration with Alessia. This was consulting with Metallica and they remember their cover from 2014 and accept. The second trouble was make a cover from a rock classic but put the Alessia pop style and The Warning hard rock style in it. And only in one week. They used zoom conferences to put it all togheter with Alessia and she sent her voice parts via internet. They not only succed in these trials also make a great video when you can aprecciate more the participation of Alessia and the armonies of The Warning sisters. I like the honesty of Wyatt saying he liked the song but he gonna gave his final toughts in the end. New sub here for that. Fun fact: a very young reactor, 8 or 9 years old, hear the song and say: It´s like a lullaby but more creepy. Revenant is a great song, 23 also, if you wanna have chills try Breathe live Metropolitan version (Fun fact: have amazing energy and the girls don´t even are in the stage at the time the song is playing). And last if you wanna have cry out loud, depends on your life experiences, try Black Holes live in Dakota Bar, this is very deep song written by a 13 yo Pau.

Depending on which country you live you can tell, and only in this year, if all of them became adults as Ale the bassist only turned 18 this year. For countries where you are only legally an adult at 21 then only Dani the guitarist/lesd vocals was the only adult at this concert as she was 21 last year - this live concert happened in august 2022 - yes, Ale was only 17 in this video.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

Great reaction! You guys nailed it. First, I don't think Dany, Pau and Ale would necessarily like comments that suggest their version is "better" than the original. Metallica has a very special place in their musical journey. Second, the artistry and vision necessary to create this version is absolutely staggering. They had to incorporate the pop sound of Alessia Cara in the Blacklist album version and mesh that with their own sound. It was a MASSIVE risk that easily could have failed and destroyed their careers...but they created a masterpiece of dark storytelling. The OMV has a seriously dark vibe. If you want to experience the "hard rock" side of TW, react to their 2nd album, Queen of the Murder Scene. It's a concept album and they were all very young when they wrote it.

Yes we know rabid fans there favorite band every song is great but in the Warning's case it's very true as you will see if you continue on your trip down the rabbit hole !!! As for rock ballads Revenant is good they do it acoustical in Teatro show with a guest guitarist Drummer does lead vocals, "When I'm Alone" features Dany guitarist singing she wrote this in 2015 while attending Berkley summer program with her sisters it's on there 1st Album "XXI Century Blood" ,"Black Holes" is another sung by Pau (drummer) , off of "Queen of the Murder Scene" there is "Crimson Queen and "The End".

Dany is playing the Gibson Explorer that Lizzy Hale gave her while the Warning was opening for them in 2022. They always introduce this as THEIR version of Enter Sandman. It's so different. They covered the song when they were 14, 12, and 9. Why do the same? They had six days to redo this and get it to Metallica. Revenant would be a great choice and also When I'm Alone written by Dany when she was 15.

They start where Metallica finishes and end the song where Metallica started. They made a lullaby of it getting more and more scary as the song went on. A great remake and homage to Metallica. Dany said this marked their full circle. Everything began with Enter sandman and now they own it! I like Metallica, but I was dead tired of ES. Then came TW and resurrected it! They are fantastic and masters of their craft. Good reaction!

TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies... it is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Very good reaction, friends. We must not compare. Metallica's Enter Sadman already has status and The Warning's version is barely on its way. I think that from now on, if it's not too much to ask, they should react to the versions of the official videos and immediately to the versions of the Metropolitan Theater, in the same video. I would recommend the following order: 1. Choke 2. Money 3. Evolve 4. Error 5. Dull knives Tight hug. 🙂

When Metallica was putting together The Blacklist Album, which celebrated the 30th Anniversary of The Black Album, they told the bands that were chosen to do covers to come up with something new and not just play the songs like Metallica played them, which as you can hear, The Warning did.

It has nothing to do with which one is better - that’s a stupid exercise. It’s about what they did, when Metallica asked them to rewrite the song and just stay true to the lyrics. They had one week, coordinated vocals with Alessia Cara in Canada, them in Mexico, during the pandemic. And this is what they came up with! It’s quite incredible!

When Metallica asks you to do a cover and to turn it inside out and upside down, but don't change the lyrics then this is how you do it. They didn't want the artists on the Blacklist album to make straight covers, they wanted them bent, twisted and turned right around, this is what The Warning delivered, one of the few bands to do so and the only one that really made it their own. Do like the Metallica version, but like James and the guys, this version is awesome. Why else would it be tge first track on the tribute album. Sometimes covers of songs turn out better than the original. Bob Dylan liked Jimi Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtower", Paul Simon liked Disturbed's cover of "Sounds of Silence". Some others are Def Leppard's "No Matter What", Disturbed's "Land of Confusion" and Aerosmith's "Come Together" to name a few.

Ok, ok. I like how you guys answered the "which song is better" debate. I have loved Metallica for 30 years and think they were so groundbreaking. However... these women are better musicians. Watching Pau perform this song like Lars is embarrassing. For Lars. They made it modern and creepy and original and wholly their own. I think it will go down as one of the historically great covers like Hurt by Cash, All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix, or even Killing me Softly by the Fugees. Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. What you wanted them to do? Opinions without any musical skills is greater these days. Metallica asked them to re-imagined the song not to do a straight cover version.

More is a great song, but you need to have an understanding of the band first, and that More was just an experiment with different styles and sounds.
