Yep that was a nier automata reference. Simon in nier was actually based on alraunes design so we've come full circle

The opera song gives me a similar vibe from the opera song from the fifth element, sung by the blue alien lady.

Since Bayonetta 2, I've been wondering what was Baal's true form since it specified she mostly keeps her form under most circumstance. I am so happy when she revealed her true form since she was my favorite demon along with Scolopendra :D

This really is just Bayonetta failing harder and harder. Japan: Fails to reach the Bayo in time, China: The Bayo is killed right before her eyes, Egypt: The Jeanne is caught right before her eyes against an even weaker enemy, then mercy killed instead of rescued, then the Bayo sacrifices herself to save Bayonetta, and now France: Has to mercy kill the Rosa causing the Bayo to be enraged and fight Bayonetta with ultimately results in the Bayo's possession, and then the Bayo is mercy killed so hard she literally explodes.

Yeah... All of the other Bayos dying got really old over time... And then the ending which I won't spoil. I have mixed feelings about. A certain character cannot carry the series no matter what name she was given...

@@sayzar9474 Well after the ending put me off, I haven't picked it up since... Care to give me your interpretation? Because TO ME, and *SPOILERS! DO NOT READ ON IF YOU HAVEN'T BEATEN THIS GAME* it seems like it took 8 years for them to decide to just end the game. The story didn't entirely hold together... like based on what I saw; each Bayonetta was a separate being including the ones from the previous games that made cameos---but the thing is that it is heavily implied that those are the same person because Bayo2 goes back in time to see the events that began Bayo1... and yet in this game, it is now being implied that they are two separate beings whilst it is also being implied that Bayo3 is Cereza from the first game that thought of Bayo1 as her Mother and a source of strength. The narrative is all over the place. But then, there is the shoe-horned romance between Bayo3 and Luka that came out of legit nowhere. In each game, Luka has been a partially endearing annoyance to Bayonetta. Almost on par with Enzo. Yes, she gave him a nickname but she also gave that nickname to Loki---which btw, where TF is he??? He said he was going to potentially return and I'm fairly certain his realm supercedes the trinity so like... HELLO??? Also, they never explained Luka suddenly being a werewolf either, or what the voice in his head was actually saying and why he was literally caressing Viola's face when they first met, implying something different from him being her Father... and them blindsiding you with that reveal. It was seemed like it was an afterthought to shoehorn in the romance mid-game and it was very jarring. Then Viola becoming the new protagonist after Bayo is killed off. I just want to say that her death didn't actually anger me, because it was a nice callback to Jeanne's death to the exact same demon. I love reincorporation, but the fact that Luka chose to save Viola over her, but then make her an orphan ten seconds later so he can join Bayo in Inferno was really stupid. She's an Umbran Witch---it's in her contract that at the end of her life, in exchange for her gifts? She will wander Hell for eternity. "Them's the breaks" in the words of Rodin. It just seemed very rushed at the end, which isn't to say I didn't enjoy myself which I did. The ending of Chapter 12 was a huge win, with the singing Toad lady. I'll give it an easy 8/10.

the opera sequence…BRILLIANT. i didn’t even realize till after u mentioned simone and i’m currently playing nier too! it can’t be a coincidence, it has to be a direct ref…truly iconic.

This is definitely a reference to the Diva's song in the 5th element movie, the hands gestures are literally the same

I always thought Baal Zebul was a reference to the diva song from 5th element.

My first thought after seeing baal sebul was diva plavalaguna from Fifth element. She was my favorite surprise from the game

I had a though during the gameplay and it’s rather horrific : those soldiers got possesed by the homonculi were killed and they where just ordinary humans before that. Bayo really had no choice but to kill those soldiers !

The french Cerez is designed like Arsène Lupin, a character from a really popular French novel also considered the thief of the night! As a french, I really like the reference!

One of my favorite episodes! I love so much mermaids/mermen since I'm a child and this Siren Baal Zebul demon is amazing! 💖 I love so much her look and her stunning Opera voice! ❤ She reminds me the Alien blue Opera singer Diva Plava Laguna in The 5th Element movie! 💙

Each sin boss fight is based off a folk story based on the area you are in. Tokyo with Sin gomorrah is based on kaiju fights of japan China's boss is based of sunwukong the monkey king and his subsequent imprisonment under mountains and being bojnd by golden ring Egypt fight against snake with fire insect and bird is based on egyptian journey of ra French boss with baal zebul is based off phantom of the opera where phantom thief bayo with her bat motif is the phantom and Baal is the singer.

For me the game was amazing, except the ending, because NOTHING gets properly explained. But I still love the game. It was a very cool experience.

One of the reason I don't like this story is because I wanted a follow up to the events of bayo 2, not play in an alternate universe with characters I don't know who they are. We don't even know their past, nothing...

@@venigmaa bayo 1 and 2 took place in the same universe. In bayo 2 She had flashbacks to bayo 1 after luka infodumped her the lore of Aesir

That's the worst part about the entire thing huh? The game just gets better and better every chapter. But when you stop and think: Wait, where are the answers, you start to notice the cracks in the story. And just like I said for TLoU2, good gameplay without a good story telling is not enough. In this case, the story goes well up to the middle point or so, after that if you look back you start to see the patterns and you start noticing you're not gonna enjoy the end.

Don't be a secondary. Read the journal entries, item descriptions and character profiles in the menu. So many people don't bother to partake in the content the game hands out to you.

Okay, so I get it, my girl is fighting for a greater purpose but at what point is she allowed to show some emotion, Bayo 1 did really well with this. With all of the loss she is experiencing I think I would have appreciated the sophistication that goes into writing and portraying a strong woman that is also you know, perhaps, just a bit overwhelmed. They did a great job with Lightning with this. The "one" moment we got to see that other side in lightning returns and then she went right back to spanking bootie 😩🔥🔥

Literally the only good part of this game and its a reference to 5th element lol
