Enormous ABANDONED Bowling Alley
Ойын-сауық
Today we are going into a former bowling alley with over 50 lanes. This massive building is on the verge of demolition for new condos and after its closure in 2016, the entertainment complex was left to the elements. Join us as we find out what's left.

Hey, you probably won't see this comment but my school is actually walking distance from that place. Back before it closed, near the end of the school year our teachers would always take us there. We never took the bus or anything, we always just walked. I have memories there lol. It's seriously weird looking at the state this place is in now. There have also been other places in my area that did pretty well that closed down and abandoned for years for seemingly no reason. Apparently some of those places were supposed to be turned into condos or something, so maybe this place was shut down for similar reasons?

Those are Brunswick A-2 pinsetters. I've been a Brunswick mechanic for many years and can tell you all those parts used to be quite valuable. However, with bowling centers closing so frequently, most of the pinsetters and scorers are just used as scrap these days. I'm surprised they left all the power lifts in the approaches up front (10:48) because those are difficult to find, but the pinsetters only go for about $200 a machine at best. Great video. Brings back old memories of how I used to rebuild those pinsetters and all the time I took doing it.

I recently revisited one of the bowling allies I went to as a kid (we live closer to a different one) and the only thing thats changed is the bar area, they still got the old chairs and tables too
The building was sold to developers a while before it closed. It was sold as the land in that area is worth a lot of money not because a lack of patronage at club 300, it was jammed with leagues until it closed. Around the 13 minute mark is the pro shop, it looks like the front check in desk was removed after it closed as it was closer to the snack bar. The building is stripped as there was no doubt that it was going to be torn down.

@@QueenOfCatsX3 I lived in a block house in Jacksonville for 36 years. It had the 9x9 asbestos tiles. The problem is not when they are new because they are pliable. The supposed problem is when they get a little older and become brittle. They say dry sweeping floors with these tiles are a hazard because of airborne carcinogens. The house was built in 1940. My grandma owned it before my mother and me. Not one person in my family has ever had any asbestos related illness. These same tiles were in millions of houses and even aircraft carriers for decades. Asbestos may cause problems when you are working in a mine or doing installation where you are exposed to airborne particles on a regular basis. Other than that abatement is just another scare tactic for implementing a money making racket.

@@waltersobchak7275 Asbestos floor tiles are really low risk. Low percentage bonded asbestos isn't the big threat. Its the stuff like spray coating and pipe lagging which is like 70-80% asbestos that you should worry about.

I live in the municipality where this bowling alley is. While I can't say I frequented this place, I do have some fond memories coming here as a young child in the late 2000s to play bowling with my friends while our parents watched us. Towards the last couple of years while this place was still open, while I never did return to the bowling alley, I would occasionally have dinners at one of the restaurants there. Even at that point, this place was already dead quiet, with my immediate family usually being the largest group of patrons at any of the businesses there. The internet cafe, though I never went inside, was open until the very end, as far as I know, despite having been an obsolete business years before this place closed down. I have some more insights about the local area if anyone is interested.

Useless info below: The panels that cover the machines are known as Masking Units. The ball return mechanism is a Power Lift (Brunswick's name for it). The pinsetters are A2's, although later on in the video it looks like there were also GS series machines installed that were removed entirely. The guard that comes down to sweep the pins is called a Rake on A2's and a Sweep on GS machines. It's sad to see a center abandoned like this, especially with the older pinsetters. They were known as the workhorse of the industry. Very durable machines and reliable if serviced properly.

At 13:20 I believe that room to be actually where the "Pro-Shop" would be. I'm sorry to hear.
The shots of it being active cutting to what it looks like today are top. Who remembers the mission on Titanfall 2 where you warp between now and then as you go through that facility?
I always watch your vids and love them (long time subscriber). And when you said “Club 300” i was shocked. We used to go there all the time. Park underground and go up the stairs. The bottom floor was open but not too busy. But Club300 was always active. My niece would get chicken fingers and fries. We’d bowl, then play arcade and pool. If it was winter, we’d do doughnuts in the back before we left. So sad, places like this don’t exist anymore. Thanks for filming, and letting me see my youth again. Stay safe.
$16.50 for 15 hours of bowling? That's a crazy deal!
On a Friday evening I am watching a KZread or that goes to an abandond bowling place cool

They started demolition of the building around late October to mid-November 2020 I think? Last I saw it, all the walls were pretty much gone, and there were piles of rubble.
Good find, thanks for the video.
7:00 No food and beverages, but this place does have an open-door policy for raccoons, though (in all seriousness, I hope that kit’s mom found her baby)

I think that was the mom that they saw. It looked too big to be a baby. I wager they heard the kit(s) calling for the mother, she got back with food or something, heard the guys walking up the stairs, and curled up on top of them protectively.
It's always a bit sad to see what a space looked like then compared to today's decay.
Another quality film .. great content !!
Great video Jake. Stay safe and I can't wait for a new episode of bankrupt or Abandoned.
Can someone please go and rescue that big stuffed Husky? :(

Recommendation for a new abandoned episode: The wildlife wonderland park in Australia, super creepy, but definitely something you should check out.
Any interior design ever: *Exists* Bright Sun Films: "So 90's."
Thanks for the tour.
even though they look so cute and innocent, i never realised how dangerous raccoons can actually be until I read about their behaviour and habits.

Raccoons are fine if you leave them alone. I have had them on my property for at least 20 years, and have seen them looking down at me from the rafters in my garage a couple times.

@@grumpywolfgaming In my experiences, Racoons are more scared of humans than vice versa. They only attack you if you're provoking them, or fucking with their young.
Damn i used to go there every now and then with my family, crazy t see it like this
One of my favorite memories of this place was biking from home to Club 300 Bowling and playing at the arcade they had at the alley. One day in 2006, I went down to play Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and ended up beating the game. It was a proud achievement for a teenage me.
Liked the way you began this doco with the bowling footage - nice
"I think this is where the people check in." Nope. That would be the pro shop
This place is so big you could have someone at the other end yelling and you wouldn’t be able to hear them
Thanks for making this video. I used to go there when I was younger and would regularly hang out at that net cafe to play foosball. They closed down that building because the owners wanted to capitalize on the huge surge in property value and sold it to developers to build townhomes on it. I believe the developers themselves went bankrupt and couldn't build said townhomes.
I went on a school trip to this bowling alley back in 7th or 8th grade (2011/2012 ish). I pass by this building all the time, never could imagined the interior has gotten to this state.
I want that giant husky
Dude you seriously need to make a playlist of you adventuring these because you have like 5 different names for exploration videos and some you just have to get lucky if it’s an exploration video or not because it’s not in the title.

Another amazing video!
I live nearby and used to go in my teens. Awesome vid man!
Sad you didn't lift up a bowling pin... not many people get to touch one of those
Do you ever take stuff from these places? A bowling pin would be a great souvenir
Your a big inspiration. Great video👍👍
