Enoch & the Spiritual Warfare of Baptism

Ойын-сауық

How does Baptism, Enoch and the Tower of Babel connect to Spiritual Warfare???
I pray the Spirit gives you incredible understanding and peace from watching this video.
Ever since I was little kid I noticed a supernatural separation between the teaching of the church and what I was reading in the Bible. Demons, Angels and every other kind of spiritual creature was jumping off of the pages of scripture of me but sadly both the supernatural and the narrative they come from remained absent in in my church experience.
Enter Dr. Michael Heiser and Tim Mackie from the Bible Project.
As God led me through the teachings of each of these beautiful minds I began to uncover the Supernatural focus of the Bible.
I pray that happens for all of us today.
Buckle Up and get ready for an incredible adventure- Enoch & the Supernatural Warfare of Baptism

I was just baptized into the Orthodox Church this spring. This exactly describes Orthodox baptism! Renouncing Satan and spitting at him! And the whole Orthodox view of Christ's victory over death and demons and our loyalty and citizenship in the Kingdom.

@user-fk7zf5sw3t where do you get your basis for baptism? And who are you referring to? Yeshua? Yahusha? Jesus? Iesous? Is God NOT omniscient? He doesn't understand His own name being transliterated throughout the many languages in the world? Languages He created. You may call Jesus by another name, but God is completely capable of understanding why I call Him by another. If I translate Yeshua, it is God Saves. If I transliterated it into English, it would be Joshua. But if I first transliterated it into Greek, then to Latin, and then into English, it is Jesus. But He gets it... I do, and His sovereignty far outweighs that of my own. Nowhere in scripture does it say baptism must take place in a "river" or that you must be completely submerged. It only says that we are to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the remission of sins.

yᵊhôšûaʿ pronounced yeh-ho-shoo'-ah The name can be contracted by dropping either of the first vowels, (apparently the vowels were not written at all in ancient Hebrew). We have Yeshua by contracting where the “O” vowel is. We have Joshua by contracting where the “e” vowel is. Both are derived from the same name. Getting to the spelling of Jesus may be convoluted, but it’s likely a combination of writing what was heard and then hearing what was written and then writing it yet differently based on how one’s language convention typically would do this. Germanics write the ‘y’ sound as a ‘j’ but when read by an English speaker the ‘j’ no longer sounds like a ‘y’ but rather a soft ‘g’ sound. I agree God is neither confused nor offended by our semantic difficulties. He looks at our heart and knows that we have called out to His Son for Salvation. One thing I find Interesting is that the order of vowel sounds in both Yehoshuah and Yehovah are in the same order. The extra vowel in Yehoshuah, the ‘u’ is said to be a “half vowel”, if I recall correctly… perhaps something unique to Hebrew.

I could be wrong, but pure capitalism is the fully informed and voluntary exchange of goods and services... but that is NOT what they had in Egypt. "Today" seems to refer here to most Protestant churches in the USA. But it's a big world out there. I am not so sure that new believers in Iran or China or India are keeping quiet today as they are being baptized, but suspect that they are doing the confession of faith in Christ. Not so sure how they do it in most of the world today, but I am sure that the world today is much bigger than our English-speaking context.

Baptism is the fundamental auto da fe, which will seal you as a child of God or expose your demons. It should be full immersion of the head with the force of an anointed priest holding the willing participant under for as long as feels proper. A proper baptism will reveal much about the participants - the whole congregation, not just the priest, parents, and child

You actually don't know that the thief on the cross was not baptized. All you know is that he had an advanced knowledge and belief in the kingdom of Christ. Given that all of Judea and Jerusalem was going out to John and being baptized by him (Mark 1:5) and that Jesus was baptizing and making even more disciples than John (John 4:1) then it's probably safer to assume that the thief was previously baptized, but then found himself in some trouble.

@austin3789 Don't assume. Besides that, baptism does not save you. Having faith in Jesus and his dying for our sins and his resurrection, repenting from our sins is what saves us. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. Jesus the perfect, spotless Lamb of God took our place. He died for all mankind, paid the price for all, provided the way for all. The only thing we have to do is confess our own personal sins and receive His forgiveness!

@@thedpenn11 I didn't assume anything. It's the people who argue that the thief on the cross wasn't baptized are the ones assuming he wasn't baptized despite evidence to the contrary. *"Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you* (not as the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Acts 2:38-41 And Peter said to them, *“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins,* and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, *“Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”* *So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.* Galatians 3:26-27 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. *For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.*

In 1 Corinthians 1:10 and culminating in verse 17, Paul gives the Church the correct view we should have towards water baptism. It has nothing to do with salvation much less a requirement for the Church. It was instituted by John the baptist as a ceremonial washing for the acceptance of their Jewish Messiah, Jesus, who he had come to make the way for. Simply a Jewish ritual cleansing. Jesus Himself said that He was sent not but to the lost sheep of Israel; not the Church. Someone in the video stated that baptism is, and I'm paraphrasing, a signal that one is putting on notice their membership into the Kingdom. They didn’t say which: of Heaven, or of God? They are not the same and are mutually exclusive. Furthermore, he stated that the believer be omes sealed upon completing the ritual, which is also false. The Gospel of Salvation by Paul, who was given this mystery by Jesus Himself, in 1 Cor. 15:1-4 doesn't mention baptism because, as Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:8, by Grace through Faith, not of works, lest any man should boast. Anything else from the believer would make the cross of no effect, as stated in 1 Cor. 1:17. When the sinner accepts God's offer for salvation he is Justified and immediately saeled with the Holy Spirit. Not after some ritual involving the flesh. You guys need to do better! If you want to teach, start by understanding the basic doctrines of our Faith. Pray that God will give you discernment of the TRUTH through His Spirit in order to do this properly. Dr. Heiser gives a better explanation of baptism, as spiritual warfare. In the context of the rebellious sons of God who are chained in darkness and won't be released until judgement, but we are baptized with Christ in His death and resurrect with Him to eternal life BY FAITH.

Addition to comment below, Baptism is not a requirement for Salvation. Neither does it add anything to it, or is a way to impress our Father in Heaven. The entire spiritual realm sees the change in the Believer because the reborn spirit is evident. One is not like other people. We are now sons of the Living God and are sealed with His Spirit. We are a new creature who is totally dependent on the Holy Spirit for discernment of TRUTH and our spiritual development/walk. Not a fleshly ritual to have others see them us as someone pious and pure. We are still in this corruptible body and susceptible to sinning. However, we are washed daily by the shed Blood of Jesus. Our assurance of Salvation hinges on our walk with the Holy Spirit in this world; by faith, not by sight (any sensual, or work of the flesh).

According to Romans 6:5-8, from God’s perspective, when we are saved, our old sinful lives are put to death in Christ when He died in our place on the cross. According to Romans 6:8 and Romans 4:25, when we are saved (by believing on Christ and what He did for us) we are spiritually made alive to God and are justified by God through the resurrection of Christ. Believer’s baptism is only to be done after a person has been saved by Jesus, as a testimony which symbolically pictures the salvation that one has already experienced. When someone is baptized in our church, (by immersion) we often say, “buried with Christ in baptism, raised to walk in newness of life.” Baptism is not a necessary part to our salvation but is an act of obedience to our Lord’s command to be baptized after we believe. If we refuse to be baptized, this may indicate we have not truly believed. God bless Mystery Man
