The golden generation complained about having a left footed wideman. Too me england created a fair amount of good opportunities, but really didnt look alive until it was 1-1. Still playing too slow and too safely. The beginning looked more energetic though. The early Slovakia goal looked to be enough for a long time

Ever noticed how players in other teams including slovakia yesterday go down with cramp in second half of games but England players never do?

!!! 6 min extra time !!! What a shame. I am so sorry Slovakia, you deserved the quarter finals!

He need to change most of the attacking players. He need to start with Gordon - Wattkins - Palmer. Then Foden - Bellingham - Rice. Finally Trent - Walker as full backs in left and right.

We won this game despite Southgate not because of any genius tactic change or substitution , we have won but Southgate still doesn't get it. He is inept at changing the game positively, he can change it to drop deep when we are wining , but he is so risk averse it's painful. Look at the subs , Palmer comes on far far too late , but rather than bring Gordon on , who is chomping at the bit to play , he brings on Eze instead , Eze did well , but what on earth made him choose Eze at that stage , then he brings Toney on ??? He's a decent player but Watkins looked sharp in the 15 minutes he has had. There is zero thought , zero planning and zero bottle from Southgate. He is literally the worst manager we have had , the luck he has had has been criminally underused. An easy draw to get to the final in the last Euros, 1-0 up and Southgate actively made us lose that final , say what you like about Hoddle or Sven but if they had half the luck Southgate has had as manager then they would have won something. I've never seen four games for England in a tournament where no one really knows what to do in that tactic , it's so unbalanced STILL , that it's throwing them all off completely. It's like giving Verstappen a peddle car and wondering why he can't win the F1 Championship. I actually think he is scared now , he is frozen, he doesn't know how to change that starting eleven , he is so scared to change the team and see us on the offensive , he would rather lose but use the only tactic and line up he knows, its like he has accepted the criticism now and has got used to it using this unbalanced line up, he is scared to change it and lose in case the criticism is worse , when actually if he changed it and we went out fighting its easier to accept than losing playing the way we have for 4 games. Not one England manager has had the luck Southgate has had , two tournaments now we have had the "easier" side of the draw , Italy go out , the Swiss look good, but everyone would rather play them than Italy because Southgate is appalling against the top Nations. Sometimes the manager has to be lucky rather than good , but we don't have a good manager to step up when the luck runs out.

Ben White is sat on holiday thinking knowing was right. Otherwise, he would have completely wasted his time, sat on a bench next to TAA for the entire competition, wondering what was the point of being merely a spectator in Germany...

The same pundits that criticised the outrageous social media reaction to rashford and saka missing penalties are stoking the fire and narrative for hatred just to get more clicks. England have only won one international title (60 years ago, on home soil and through a goal that should not have stood). Brazil, Argentina , germany and Italy = level one Spain, france = level two Portugal, Holland, uruguay, russia, czech republic/slovakia = level 3 England, denmark, Belgium, greece, Croatia = level 4 We are hopelessly mis guided about our role on the global stage. Trent has to play at RB. He hasn’t got the bottle to drop Walker in the same position, so he squeezes him into an unfamiliar role at international level. The fact he can’t see the imbalance in the team, which has been pointed out by every pundit, pro, and Sunday league player is just a sad reminder of how much he has held back this generation of talent. I’m confident that any manager with a positive mindset and tactical ability would have brought us a long awaited tournament win.

Neither of our goals tonight came from a quality tactic change, they came from good fortune and quality finishes, we won despite Southgate actually making us almost lose. The players deserve praise for not giving up and finishing off a bit of luck for both goals.. At this stage if southgate went home and had zero contact with the players and no tactical input , the I would put money on us winning the tournament. With Southgate in charge we will need similar goals to tonight.. That man does not deserve any praise

Because he is a rabbit in the headlights now , he has lost the bottle to change the team to be more balanced , because in his head he can't stomach being criticised for taking a gamble and changing the tactics, it's easier to accept criticism for this eleven because he has got used to it. The same eleven he picks, using a tactic that will not work, has become a comfort blanket now, its like his version of holding a lucky rabbits foot for him.
