The distances in this video were determined using officially published figures and approximate calculations based on Pythagoras' theorem, considering the position from where the shots were taken and the pitch size. Please note that not all distance measurements are exact.

I was wondering how far a professional football player can shoot directly with accuracy? the most distance goal in this video are around 95-96 meters from the goal post, but the ball was not directly got in to the net. It bounced at least once, unlike half field goal which shows perfect parabolic trajectory toward the back of the net.

8:12 - Tim Howard's goal... I was there for it. I was behind the goal in the Gwladys street end. I had a packet of crisps on me. I looked down at it to grab some as it was passed back to Howard. I looked up and couldn't see the ball. Then I saw it hit the back of the net. In the midst of cheering I turned to my mate and said "who TF scored that?!?" and he screamed back "HOWARD!". I always find it funny watching it back and listening to the commentary when the commentator says "everybody in the ground could see what was going to happen" and I'm always thinking "yeah.... everybody but me" 😂😂😂

I scored an own goal from the corner position back in '91. My team were ahead and there wasn't much time left, so our coach yelled at me, that I should kick it back to our goalkeeper and so I did. But when the ball hit the ground our goalkeeper had miscalculated its jump and it sailed over him and into the net behind him. 😀 We still won, but he had to buy beer for the entire team as penalty...

Not more than Ronaldo, more than everyone who has ever played football. He has found the sweet spot of long range shots, far enough from outside the box not too far to have to shoot dozen times to score a goal. 20-25 yards is his sweet spot. Shoots from 30-35 yards only when situation demands which ends in goals or hit the post. Shoots from corner kicks which unluckily hits the post often.

7:05 that was 70 meters into the net without a bounce. Very impressive considering that's 10 yards longer than the longest field goal in the NFL.

The a field goal's bottom bar is 10 feet off the ground, the lower edge of the bar on a soccer goal is 8 feet off the ground. Thus, the distances aren't comparable one to one... However, it's likely that 70 m kick still travelled farther in the air than that 66 yd field goal would've had it not hit the bar before hitting the ground. Standard weight of the ball for both is virtually the same, but the shape of an American football pretty much guarantees less aerodynamic efficiency... It's truly tough to say which is the more impressive athletic feat. Both are truly incredible in their own right! :)
