England v Australia - Match Highlights - Rugby World Cup 2015

Спорт

England’s dream is over, losing 33-13 to the old foe Australia at Twickenham in their do-or-die Pool A clash on Saturday.
As brilliant as fly-half Bernard Foley was for the Wallabies, as poor were England’s forwards - experiencing what was unthinkable only a few years ago as the Australian pack lorded it over them, even in the scrum.
Foley scored all Australia's 17 points in the first half via two converted tries and a penalty, while England had a lone Owen Farrell penalty to show for the efforts at the break.
England resumed with renewed vigour, looking to cut that deficit as soon as possible, but instead it was that man Foley who stretched the lead to 20-3.
England have become the first hosts to be eliminated at the group stages of the Rugby World Cup after defeat against Australia.

Australia did you have to go so hard on England. The poor biased English commentator on ITV was so sad at the end and little Johnny and Sir Clive looked like they were about to burst into tears. Thumbs up to Michael Lynagh though. He deserved an oscar for not bursting into laughter. Hahahaha.

England were so arrogant. Although I'm happy and feel gratified that this happened, I'm also relieved that I don't have to listen to any more of their arrogance for the rest of the tournament. Actually I might be wrong about that. Just after the game the pundits on ITV sport were talking about how the tournament was ruined as the host nation was no longer in it. I'm thinking that the tournament goes on for the rest of the teams. To argue that everyone else is missing out by not seeing England in the tournament anymore, is the height of arrogance. Even in defeat they're a bunch of arrogant and ungracious yobs.

Is it a shame we're out? No just means more talented teams go through. Any English player with flair or creatively either wasn't picked or wasn't played. No Care, no Cipriani, no Armitage, no Hartley, no Abendanon. No chance of going through.

I watched that game in a bar in Paris with an English friend. It was very sad. People tend to forget that Lancaster did a great job over the years prior to the RWC 2015. He built a new England team with a young generation of talents that eventually won the 6 Nations few months later (and 2017) and knocked out the All Blacks of the RWC 2019 in an epic semi finale. The chariots are well and truly FUBAR! To Danny Cipriani, in your opinion no Wallabies would make the English team...truth is no Wallabies rugby player would want to be part of the England side because the Wallabies are part of a cohesive well oiled machine with a fearless Captain. Why would they want to leave that for a disjointed, leaderless side? Go wobblies, hopefully we meet our cuzzybros across the dutch in the Final. May the best team win.

+Owen Jones if we don't beat Australia, we will probably be playing SA, and if we win that, NZ next. But to beat Australia we would most likely have to pick our strongest team and then be ready again and again for top opponents after hard matches already. With our injuries it sure isn't going to be easy, would need something superhuman or miraculous. Before the tournament I quite fancied our chances as dark horses, but while I'm delighted we beat England and reached the 1/4 final, it's hard to see us winning the cup. We need a mentality of reclaiming our lost land now known as England.

The 2 best teams through from the group of death :) Wales now officially ranked #2 in the world at rugby (are certainly one of the top 5), #8 at football, above England at both :) Australia looking very impressive, will expect to top the group, and then have an easier draw, maybe favourites for the trophy. Wales need to improve the scrum somehow, and have no more injuries, may not have the strength in depth to keep progressing.

New Zealand always make a close game of the England away game though so that will be interesting. Going off previous years I'd be willing to bet NZ down to England at half time and a second half come back to win. Australia and SA are playing terribly at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised to see England, Wales and Ireland getting wins over them.
