England v Australia - Match Highlights - Rugby World Cup 2015
Спорт
England’s dream is over, losing 33-13 to the old foe Australia at Twickenham in their do-or-die Pool A clash on Saturday.
As brilliant as fly-half Bernard Foley was for the Wallabies, as poor were England’s forwards - experiencing what was unthinkable only a few years ago as the Australian pack lorded it over them, even in the scrum.
Foley scored all Australia's 17 points in the first half via two converted tries and a penalty, while England had a lone Owen Farrell penalty to show for the efforts at the break.
England resumed with renewed vigour, looking to cut that deficit as soon as possible, but instead it was that man Foley who stretched the lead to 20-3.
England have become the first hosts to be eliminated at the group stages of the Rugby World Cup after defeat against Australia.

Australia did you have to go so hard on England. The poor biased English commentator on ITV was so sad at the end and little Johnny and Sir Clive looked like they were about to burst into tears. Thumbs up to Michael Lynagh though. He deserved an oscar for not bursting into laughter. Hahahaha.

toomtoom61 Its why everyone loves to see England fail. Their media and snobs like Woodward make people dislike England. The thing is the English people are fine. Well done the Aussies.
England were so arrogant. Although I'm happy and feel gratified that this happened, I'm also relieved that I don't have to listen to any more of their arrogance for the rest of the tournament. Actually I might be wrong about that. Just after the game the pundits on ITV sport were talking about how the tournament was ruined as the host nation was no longer in it. I'm thinking that the tournament goes on for the rest of the teams. To argue that everyone else is missing out by not seeing England in the tournament anymore, is the height of arrogance. Even in defeat they're a bunch of arrogant and ungracious yobs.

Crazy match, I still remember this! 6 years ago soon :)
I watched that game in a bar in Paris with an English friend. It was very sad. People tend to forget that Lancaster did a great job over the years prior to the RWC 2015. He built a new England team with a young generation of talents that eventually won the 6 Nations few months later (and 2017) and knocked out the All Blacks of the RWC 2019 in an epic semi finale. From a French fan.

I was hoping that by some miracle we'd end up with an Ireland v England final, wouldn't that be something. I'm Irish but very sad to see England out of the competition, especially this early. With all the wonderful talent they have at their disposal, there really needs to be some soul searching going on and hopefully they'll make whatever changes they need to make to turn all that hard work into something more tangible.

The chariots are well and truly FUBAR! To Danny Cipriani, in your opinion no Wallabies would make the English team...truth is no Wallabies rugby player would want to be part of the England side because the Wallabies are part of a cohesive well oiled machine with a fearless Captain. But to beat Australia we would most likely have to pick our strongest team and then be ready again and again for top opponents after hard matches already. With our injuries it sure isn't going to be easy, would need something superhuman or miraculous. Before the tournament I quite fancied our chances as dark horses, but while I'm delighted we beat England and reached the 1/4 final, it's hard to see us winning the cup. Before Englands last group match the reporter asked Chris Robshaw about the sides chances of victory. "Were at home." "We always back ourselves at home." hahahahaha.
Well done Australia! The 2 best teams through from the group of death :) Wales now officially ranked #2 in the world at rugby (are certainly one of the top 5), #8 at football, above England at both :) Australia looking very impressive, will expect to top the group, and then have an easier draw, maybe favourites for the trophy. Wales need to improve the scrum somehow, and have no more injuries, may not have the strength in depth to keep progressing.

I reckon it's going to be a New Zealand vs Australia (maybe S Africa if they pick up a little) final, but Australia are going to batter the all blacks in the final

As an aussie I think we have a good chance at beating the all blacks. But they're still the worlds best. Even though I'm a wallabies fan you can't tell NZ are playing with the teams they're versing and they're not winning pretty. There saving there energy and big names injury free to verses South Africa and australia ect in the big games. I want wallabies to go all the way and I think we can, but knowing the abs they'll come up with the goods again

I was as well.In saying that if the All Blacks play the way they did against France they will win the world cup easily, the problem is trying to replicate that form.

Briefly....
los wallabies y una obra maestra del rugby , la jugada de la doble pared entre kurtley Beale - Foley para el segundo try ante los ingleses. . el momento y lugar exacto para pegarle la estocada final a tu rival
I don't see what all the fuss is about. A perfectly correct pool standing. England are not as good as the Ozzies or Wales. Whoever thought England would get out of this pool was clearly deluded and know very little about the game. A substandard side getting dumped out. No surprises there.

+Mark Morgan Wales beat England regularly and yet according to the English media it's always a surprise. Wales and Australia were ranked above England anyway.

+Mark Morgan It's because Lancaster threw away some key players (and also played rubbish). Until this world cup our last two matches against Wales and Australia both came off as wins, and that's why everyone was assuming we would walk through the pool. Buuuuut we got our asses handed to us instead but fair play to the Wallabies, that was some solid rugby.

I always thought it was too close to call. If anything the pressure situation suited Wales and Australia more because the current England crop tend to choke.

Dan V Having no 7 in today's game is crazy. Owen or Ford? Fly half or centre? Not quite sure who the core of the team is after 3 years.
I only support 2 teams in rugby : Scotland.... And anyone playing England

Well done Australia. It pisses me off that even after going out in such a spectacular way Lancaster's still banging on about how they should have beaten Wales, I'm so glad Australia won, a bit nervous about facing them next week though, they played really well but at least we're through 😊 bye bye England, enjoy the short walk home

+stacey valeri Typical English arrogance. Wales have beaten England 4 of last 6 matches, 57 times overall, and have won 10 of last 12 international matches, but when Wales beat England, the English act as if it's a terrible shock.
England have now exited at the group stages of the soccer, cricket and rugby world cups in the largest three years! Great times!
England should have stuck with a team that played open rugby. This is what you get poms! Go wallabies.
England: This happens because your Highlights are so poor in youtube. In Brazil 2014 and now in your own House you can not classify a stage group. Bye Bye

England is cheater in world cup and rugby
Never forget England : Maybe, you're eliminated quickly during the 2015 Rugby World Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup BUT : you are finished 1st during the 2014 Women Rugby World Cup and 3rd during the 2015 FIFA Women World cup. I comfort you England (from France).
I just love seeing these guys being beaten🥴😂. 32-12
I howled with joy and amusement to see England totally humiliated during pool play. Their arrogance came back to bit them in the butt. They have had some success post RWC 2015, but they will not be able to sustain it, especially with Fast Mouth Eddie and the thug Hartley at the helm. Watch out for more very, very boring and predictable rugby from the lily white, lily livered English Private School Boys over the next 3 years. All bark, no bite. Plus ca change ................

agreed, they look in good shape. I think this autumn will be interesting but i'd tip new zealand to dominate the autumn internationals. New Zealand always make a close game of the England away game though so that will be interesting. Going off previous years I'd be willing to bet NZ down to England at half time and a second half come back to win. Australia and SA are playing terribly at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised to see England, Wales and Ireland getting wins over them.

England was very poo poo !!!
I remember the nonsense the UK papers were writing about Sam Burgess in the lead-up. He converted over to union in 2014, and they were all clamouring for him to play for the England as if he was some sort of messiah and then flopped miserably in this WC.
Australian rugby at it's finest, beating our arch-nemesis England. Shame we haven't been going so well lately, hopefully Dave Rennie can sort us out!
As an American who enjoys rugby I am glad Australia won. I enjoy Australia much more than the UK when I travel.

4 years later...
The stars are aligning at the right time for the wallabies. The scrum is fixed. Hooper , Pocock, Folau and Foley are all playing at their career best. Everyone is saying how bad England were, the reality is this is the best wallabies side in a decade
Australia was so impressive at that time...
