Maybe explain how to as well? Easiest way is to "equip" the oil filled engine with tab, then point at the oil cap of the empty one and pour. Like you say, it's super easy.

@@torod213 you don’t need to equip it with tab, just pick it up, the engine works like any other container, you pick it up and point your cursor at the fill of the other engine and then hold the left mouse button.

@@TobiasRieper047 The rushing is probably so he doesn't spend 30 minutes of a video at a single location. Maybe he's concerned people might get bored 'waiting' for him to pack up and leave. I agree though. I wish he'd spend a little more time getting what he needs, spray bottles, sponges and wire brushes and the like. If he gave himself a bit more time to think he could do things like carry a box to use as a step into the back and maybe actually save time in the future. Hopefully we'll see that type of thing develop as the series goes on, or he could ask what people want to see the results of but not necessarily the process behind it, like getting the truck shiny. At the end of an episode we watch he could clean up the truck then travel in the following episodes without as many spray bottles, etc, and the baskets could be laid out to better hold larger objects.

Devs have said that the engines and radiators can't be repaired, as it will make things too easy for the players. Also, I would just throw out that bus radiator. You'll get nothing but overheating from that pile of rust.

I’ve been using a car radiator with the bus engine it doesn’t seem to mind no reason to keep a wrecked radiator how it works idk but I don’t question just fix and drive lol

These are sometimes painful to watch. It's like when you watch a budget horror movie and you're yelling at the characters not to go upstairs. Except with Alex you're yelling at him not to leave the perfect condition items behind, or wondering why he keeps hauling empty containers around when he keeps finding containers full of useful stuff that he just leaves behind...

Store your spare wheels on those small platforms under the rear of the truck. You can get one on each side.

Alex, as you’ve shown ,the Magic Lantern will change from gold to stained glass and glow for a limited amount of time when you use the Alt key and rub the lantern. However, the lantern will continue to glow even when held in the players inventory. This will make exploration at night (and dark locations) easier.

You can set the baskets upside down on top of the object you want to secure then pick up the whole lot with just the basket and then attach it to the vehicle.

Mildly infuriating but addicting none the less!

The bike in the shop is in perfect condition, but Alex keeps his wheel-less-jalopy bike in the truck...

Fail Race mantra at 30:23: "I've made this really unnecessarily difficult for myself."

You still need to clean one of the roof hatches as well, and some of the wheels might need checking too.

Yup, you're a lot like me: Takes a basket from a complete bicycle. Keeps the crappy bicycle without an engine or a wheel.

Please save yourself from at least some physics glitchiness by dumping that bus radiator (one in that condition will overheat almost instantly in the desert), and by putting the empty barrel and spare wheel on one of the underside racks (you have two more in the back, one on either side).

Look for the tanker truck, its way less glitchy. You've got to be clever about storing things but you can hold all the fuel you need and put baskets and barrels over the wheels. Also the bus engine worked better than the truck engine from my experience.

I'm using the tanker truck now and I don't really like it... The big tank is largely useless because the fuel tank is so big anyways that if you fill it up and carry an extra barrel of diesel you could probably get 1000km or more or more out of it. And it's never THAT far to a reachable ship or a tanker trailer with 150l of diesel lying around. I actually ended up dumping the fuel out because the map just gave me insane endless hills to climb and it was barely doing 20km/h... Also, it's got some kind of possessed glitch going on that I can't get rid of...

@@user-tl5nq9jk9h i had the starting wagon in perfect condition along with the fastest car engine and best radiator in the game.. all tires and wheels in best condition. Came across some hills on my first map, had to dump everything i was carrying and zig zag across the hills to get up. Took me almost an hour to traverse about 10kms.

On my first play, I started out with the Lada wagon, found a bus that I was able to fairly easily get running, immediately faced a 70° hill that I doubt even said Lada could ever get up. There went a point where even zigzagging to the point I was going side on to the quite frankly mountain and reaching 100 km/h before yanking at the wheel to turn back to rinse and repeat didn't get me any further up at all, gave up and decided to go back down, to which it very rapidly went about 250 km/h or so in no time at all and after 20 seconds blew past the bus stop I originally found the bus at while being out of control and unable to stop

Arctic Rebel I feel your pain - and so does my PC ;) It can handle TLD - provided I have the graphics on very low quality & run it at 1280x720. But that's better than nothing :) Surprisingly, it can handle ETS2 & ATS without too many problems - albeit with lowered graphics quality, and provided the game doesn't spawn too much traffic! GMod runs fairly well too - when it's not crashing (but that's half the fun of Gmod, LOL!)

@@CodeNeonMC To be fair, this game is horrendously optimized and runs like shit. My laptop (Intel UHD Graphics) can run Dirt 3 720p medium at 60fps. TLD at 720p low with everything but shadows turned off runs at 20-30fps. For a game that looks like it's from the 2000s, that's pretty abysmal.

He should really try running into the backside of the bus while inside of it, if it hasnt been fixed yet something pretty funny occurs

Alex you mad lad, that thing you had in your hand at the end of the video could have been one of the 4 components you needed to get the radio tower to work

In my opinion best setup is a bus will tank trailer (you need to put car tires not truck tires on the trailer) and always grab baskets.

@@torod213 it is slow uphill but easy to control on the downhill almost never tips. Better breaks. I like the truck with the bus moter. Tank truck. And cargo trailer now and it can be twitchy and glitches a fair amount.

Alex: Puts bus engine into truck and immediately falls over... And that's why we're all watching...

If it gets really slow, you can go back and forth across the road, making your own switchbacks, which decreases the uphill angle. I've had my little car stall going straight up the hills. Also, there are manor houses that usually have junk cars for parts. The grassy areas suck a lot of resources from your computer, it takes a lot of brains to keep drawing the grass. Great series!

Thanks for another great video! Basket tip, they work really well connected externally to the frame of the truck / fuel trailer.

Take the bumper off. Carry more stuff with a basket. Equip then pick up another item with your other hand. You have two after all. I bus swapped last week and suddenly realised the brakes are woefully inadequate. I found adding a trailer to my truck made it more stable, which was a surprise. My last session ended with my baskets causing a tree to get caught between them in a spectacular sudden stop. It took a long time to unhook it from the tree.

It's funny. I don't have the patience to watch a movie, nevermind a TV show. Yet I'll happily watch 30 minute + videos of you playing this game. 👍

Hi Alex. Have a basket that is empty, take it with you through the buildings and what you find, through in there. Save you having to back and forth. Always fun watching sir.

Not sure if you know, but use your compass. The road always goes West with East being back to the start, with about 45ish degrees deviation in either direction (At least in all 4 worlds I've tried). So if you turn off the road to the left, all you need to do is go North to get back. If you turn right, go south to get back. Also, take the bumper off the truck. It helps with engine swaps. The bus speedo goes to 120 and I've pushed well past that on flat ground with the bus engine in the truck.

I think those racks in the truck underside could be maybe for an extra fuel tank that you could find somewhere

They're good for holding gerry cans, wheels and barrels. They act like baskets, as once they're on the racks, they lock in place and stay there. Even if you crash hard.

Love how this game is full of eastern european vehicles. Like the truck you are driving looks like an IFA, and in the previous episode you found a gutted green Trabant. The bus you just found is an Ikarus. These vehicles are still roaming the streets here in hungary

I bought this game a few days ago just because of your videos. I've got about 5 hours in and I love it.

37:04 is a motorcycle headlight, it also fits in other cars that have rectangle lights.

31:00 I like this idea. The longer you stay in a location, the rabbit spawn rate will ramp up as well. It'll have to have a cap on the spawn rate or else the game would become literally impossible, but a balance to where it's not impossible, but just on the slightly annoying side would be good.

In my experience this actually exists in the game. I spent an extended period in one of the big gas stations rebuilding a car and by the end the rabbits were spawning at a fairly alarming rate.

I like the idea, but they HAVE to fix the constant glitching before they do something like that.. It's making the game almost unplayable as it is, and the rabbits are a constant source of glitching. Glitching through walls or making cars and stuff fly to space.

I am in love with this series .

You can use the side racks to store items and they wont fall of the truck, i've used them to hold barrels of diesel and jerrycans with water and oil, they hold the item just like the baskets do, and they will only move when you grab them

I believe that Block you have at the end is for the transmitter towers, just looking at the cables attached to it

Hey alex, tip for next time you're scavenging for supplies: Carry a basket with you and put all the supplies in there. It was kind of cringy watching you carry one sponge/bottle at a time from the kitchen into the truck, AND THEN THE BASKET.... Still love the series though!

12:21 - A bike with a bus engine? Yes please 😂

If you want to scout the area without the risk of bunny injury or death. Jump in to the passenger seat, lift the lid and push the 'e' button and you can see your surroundings without the need of getting out of the truck. It's also an easier way of getting on to the roof of the truck.

Not sure if you knew but the engines oil cap is visible on the floor of the passengers side wen you put the bus engine in the truck to make filling easy. Also id recommend getting 1 mod, the 1 that adds the basket physics lock to the whole back of that truck. You place an item n it locks into place as if in a basket. I lined baskets on the floor to neatly organize things n placed the flashlight in the back corner so it could be turned on n light up the back. Also helps if your gonna carry a truck engine with you in the back like i do also lol

Not sure how you'd agree... but 2021 mainline hw and mbx has been one of the best years for new and old casts with recolours and releases on the past 10 years, every single case has had at least 1 cast I've loved the look of... especially that civic typr R from M case and of course the leaf nismo

If you think about it restaurants and garages in the desert are genius, when your traveling the desert wouldn't you want a juicy burger and a coke?

How have I not managed to see anyone mention that the tiny hand crank music box you keep running across is a Mad Max Easter-egg, directly referencing The Feral Kid from The Road Warrior.

I'm waiting for the day he walks into the back of a bus without it's handbrake on and with no engine, and find that he can go mach 4 just by pushing against the back. Though it does come with a risk; if you go too fast you do spontaneously die, but you can technically play infinitely without worry of running out of fuel, coolant, or oil

Alex just for future reference the lamp you have if you hold alt and rub it, it will glow and help you see in dark spaces if in your inventory but i do believe it will turn to stained glass as well

I have the Flatbed-Truck and I have to say it isn't that much better when it comes to glitching out. But its an exellant launching platform if you want to send the bikes to space. I tried 3 times to carry a bike with me (even trying to secure them with the metal bars or putting a wheel in a basket) and after driving some distance 2 of them vanished without me noticing when and how. The third time i was lucky and looked in the mirror when it happend. It launched it self of the bed right up in the sky with warpspeed, never to be seen again.

You found a complete bike and left it, but you kept your bike with bits missing - a swap would have probably been a better choice there...

If you put the fluids in the bus engine, it's almost impossible to lift up. You can fill oil in the passenger footwell once it's installed.

This week on my Long Drive I said goodbye to my camper truck with tanker trailer when I found a truck with a tanker body. The outside is now covered in baskets which I am filling with portable lights to throw light in a circle around the truck. I feel as though the tanker handles much better than the camper with the diesel trailer behind.

Alex, whatever mass you add to the vehicle counts toward the total mass. You should've swiped the bus tyres and headlights too. You can brake better if you kill the engine and engine brake. Similarly, you can save gas by killing the engine and just coasting downhill. You still have empty storage spots under the back of the truck and one on the left side.

While driving in 1st person, clicking & holding the rt. mouse button will magnify your view out the front or side of the vehicle. ;)

If you ever need to change engine's again you can take off the front bumper just so it makes it slightly easier to install a engine

On each side of the back behind the rear wheels of the truck there are more racks that work like the ones you have the barrels in, they’re smaller so you can put your oil cans and such in them, you can even stack the cans and physics will be turned off for all of them.

to save some space just attach the wheels and engine to the bike. won't really 'drive' but is less entities to bounce around in the back

I don't know why you drive at 3000mph in the glitchiest game ever only to have to spent time repackaging your trunk when you inevitably crash. In saying that, I enjoy and keep up the good work.😁

You can put a car radiator in with the bus engine I had one set up like that until something went vary bad with the truck so the bus engine went into a rear engine car body that I can’t remember the name of anyway I have the rear wheels from the truck on the back and the car wheels from the Gaza/Lada I started out with looks like something from mad max but it’s fast so it works

The main goal of this game is to drive to your mother's house. The road is 3000 Km long.

For later on, all you have to do is hold the truck engine over the buss engine and you can pour it like any container

After watching this, I'm motivated to finish my Fiero 3800sc swap.

Baskets are weird. Sometimes the wheel hubs in the starting garage have been close to a basket, I've picked the basket up and it's lifted the hubs. I think they have odd collision detection

Can you use the wire brush to clean up the fuel pumps?? and will they do anything if you do??

Just a heads up Alex, if you put car tyres on the front of the truck it handles much better and the brakes actually work! It looks silly though... Good trade off if you ask me...

You might be able to detach the centre panel on the roof to access the engine.

How you keep your sense of direction ? Like if i wander that far from the road I would definitely turn to a wrong direction after that.

The container on the back of the truck, and the rear door, seem to have a layer of dirt on them. I don't know if it can be cleaned.

i do believe that the bus engine wouldnt over heat in the bike simply because of the weight being so insignificant that the bus engine dose not have to work a whole lot.

How about a game mode wherein a massive wave of bunnies is always looming on the horizon, inching closer while you dawdle about? A veritable derecho of death driving you to distraction and distress.

Alex, you don't need the spare engine, you don't need the spare radiator, you don't need spare wheels, the bike causes all the problems, all of these things just cause more unnecessary weight and glitchiness!!
