A customer sent this Honda CT70 engine over for repair. It was refreshed and only ran briefly before something went wrong and seized. Follow along as I tear it down and discover the issue.

you need to bend the tabs out on the big nut before you take it loose, they are bent in to hold nut in place, just friendly advice (around 6:20)

Hi - Retaining Tab was pulled back from nut before loosening. Probably cant see it to verify (Alot of oil sitting in that area), but that nut would never have backed off otherwise.

Not sure if you are in USA. Just order a pitbike puller with M27X1.0 L.H External Thread. Here is the one I use on Amazon.com => www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OO2Q86/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So I just got a new aftermarket carb for my 78 z50 and it seems that their should be a gasket between carb and body just an O ring is enough for good seal?

@@bushape2591 yes - oring is all that is needed for carb to intake mani connection. Can test for air leak by spraying some carb cleaner while engine is running at that condition. If it stalls or lowers RPM while spraying you have a leak.
