Energy Credits Are Space NFT's
Ever wondered what are Energy Credits in Stellaris? This video will answer your question
Edited by @harinion, Main Channel @Strategiser
0:00 Did you know that in Stellaris Energy Credits are Space NFTs?
0:03 I bet the Crypto Bros are all over my Comment Section by now!
0:07 These “Credits” are “Minted” from the Creation of “Energy”
0:10 Technicians to Solar Panels, or even from more Ambiguous Sources such as the “Market” or “Trade”!
0:17 It’s also got all the hallmarks of CryptoCurrencies
0:20 Except it actually has value!
0:22 It can do things like Powering Weapons, Starbases, Buildings and the best part? It doesn’t have RAMPANT Market Speculation!
0:29 If you want to make your Markets "Stable", you can Sell Resources ONE Small batch at a time! And then Selling again
0:35 Allowing you to Sell approximately 3 TIMES more Resources than Normal, before Prices go DOWN!
0:41 Just keep in mind to NOT do this at the END of the Month, as it will affect the Prices TWICE which would break the Equilibrium(if you have Monthly Buy-and-Sell Orders)
0:48 You can also combine this with Monthly Buy-and-Sell Orders, if you’re TOO LAZY to do it! Heres the Spreadsheet
0:53 If you want Spreadsheets and Controversial Opinions, then Click the Video on Screen to LEARN some MATH!

Credits are fungible though. What egalitarians don't want you to know is that the REAL NFT market is hidden under the name "slave" market. They even have the funny monkey pictures!

You know, I just had an idea. What if you bought shitty pops off the market, gene modded them to be good (worth more), then began selling them over time to make more profit? Could also work with robots assuming you don't have sufficient gene modding tech or faith in Zarqlan.
So...basically, the Dyson Sphere is a star-size bitcoin mine?

Yeah, I think it's rather strange that a total isolationist empire can sustain their energy-intensive industries with dollar bills, or in this case, space bitcoin when very few actual energy producers exist. Energy Credits and Energy itself should be separate resources.

Honestly, the energy credit is pretty clever lore-wise. A gold standard probably wouldn't work on a galactic scale like it is today. It's relatively scarce, has a limited supply, and few practical uses. I doubt it would be rare throughout the galaxy, but it's pretty unlikely there's a large enough supply of it to feed the economy of an entire galaxy. I also doubt it could be mined fast enough to keep up with galactic inflation. Plus if it does lose it's value, it might lose it's status as a luxury item, leaving only it's practical uses such as being a electrical component, so it wouldn't be useless, but much less valuable. And energy would be a great replacement for it! It isn't rare nor limited, ensuring you'll be able to print enough money for your interplanetary empire's massive economy while still producing enough of it to keep up with inflation and without worry of it's source drying out, and you need a lot of industry to generate it on a large scale ensuring it can't be easily made plus the uncountable uses it has ensure it's still valuable. If energy storage becomes efficient enough that it can be traded between nations, companies and such (In other words, if we invent batteries that don't suck), then i can see energy credits replacing money as we know it when humanity reaches the stars.
Did you know in Stellaris you can get scammed.

Damn, I thought the alloy cap was 12. That alloy a month could've made a difference in claiming some systems before the AI. Good to know the other caps too.

by selling one miniscule batch and letting one day tick over, the market updates and goes back to equilibrium every single time so if you're on an energy deficit you can just sell some alloys or other resources for a little bit while you work on fixing it
