This season went by quick! Only 3 episodes.. sheesh! It was excellent however. My family and I love the show Endeavor and we all agree that we would love to see a new series of Morse, starring Shaun Evans, once this series concludes. If you agree hit the thumbs up!

Yes, I love Endeavour but... Just read the 2nd of Colin Dexter's Morse books, "Last Seen Wearing" and the character is far from the very likeable Endeavour! In fact he seems a bit more like John Thaw's character in The Sweeney rather than how Morse was written for him in the TV series. Apart from the character, in this novel Morse has flashes of insight but each time it sets him off in pursuit of an entirely wrong theory. Eventually it all comes together almost by eliminating every other possibility! Endeavour is altogether more humane and thorough! Morse, the TV series takes liberties with the books and the character (though Colin Dexter obviously liked it as he often made appearances as an extra).

@@davejp58 I loved the series Lovejoy which was based on books too. Got quite a shock when I read the first book. The book character was nothing like how he was portrayed in the series by Ian McShane. Incidentally, I managed to watch the first season of The Sweeney. Lots of cops behaving badly. Definitely wouldn't be produced today.

Norm Swygert Hope you get to the point that you can watch him in the future. Roger Allan has done a magnificent job of making this character so multifaceted. He portrays Thursday as a weary police investigator who has seen too much violence and is feeling the pressure of younger coppers nipping at his heels, yet keeping Endeavour as his bagman bc he knows Endeavour’s constant going the extra extra mile to figure out complicated plots is valuable to his own career.

Norm Swygert SPOILER AHEAD If you watch Inspector Morse, there is no mention of Thursday bc Thursday is a character created for the Endeavour series. So my thinking is that there will eventually be a very serious disconnect between Morse and Thursday and that the relationship is slowly headed towards that end with both actors doing a magnificent job. Just enjoy

@@lordnormington Fred Thursday was trained by 'Sgt. Vimes of Cable Street' (which was a very british literary in-joke by the Endeavour authors) but..it explains a lot. Thursday is a modern version of Vimes like Morse is a modern Sherlock. Fascinatingly diverse character inspirations.

That's the order I watched the group of series too. I love seeing the 'romantic spires of Oxford'.
I have Amazon Prime and have started binge-watching “Endeavour.” I am absolutely bedazzled by Mr. Shaun’s dreamy “blue pool” eyes. Really, I think that’s what’s keeping me glued so tightly. Of course, the acting is superb and the videography is outstanding...and then the music...OMG, the lovely music. So, yes, I’ll keep watching.😉. I’m just worried I’ll run out of top-notch British detective 🕵️♂️ series. I’ve already watched all the Vera & Inspector Lyndley (sp?) seasons...at least the ones available through Amazon, Acorn & Brit Box and have been through more than half of Silent Witness. I’m now watching the older ones. I’m so glad we can watch these in the U.S. besides what may be available on PBS. WIll I ever get sick of dead bodies? Not so far.

Next to Foyle's War, Endeavor grips me like nothing else. The plots superbly crafted, the characters are authentically acted, like real, believable and this is very gripping. Even the complex psychology of the characters are so well acted the viewer gets it, understands. This 'Dangerous Love' episode was the most psychologically malevolent. You can sense the diabolical deception going on with this Ludo guy and his wife and how they were "playing" Endeavor.

She's obviously a wonderful person, and so is Morse, who is so in love with her. Of course, if you've watched the grown-up Morse series, you know what he becomes. I am going to re-watch it. Actors in British productions - be they movies, detectives, sitcoms, or soaps - are far more credible than actors in USA produced films. The British actors are far more 'real life' than their USA colleagues, and I think it has all to do with the way the USA actors are groomed. They are too perfect. In real life, there are only few people 'perfect'.

I love it..!
I am fascinated by the color palette used in the show, especially the bluish green used for Thursday's hat, Morse's tie, the notice board at the station, the laundry basket of the woman in the garden, a notebook, the out of focus landscape shots through the window, the color filters applied to the work in general in S7E1, and, especially, the dress of Morse's love interest in Venice. It's as though the Venice experience is to define the show and series, and that Morse's life is going to be colored indelibly. The green is combined very carefully with orange and purple, especially in the dress of the clairvoyant girl. This use of color is as prominent as the reds, browns and greens used in David Lynch's Twin Peaks. I'd like to better understand the thinking behind the use of color in the series, green in particular -- newness, magical forces good and bad, envy -- and the care that went into creating that palette.
Goood...I LOVE this man.... Heaven knows why I'm feeling pregnant just hearing his original voice, LOL

Morse has every right to question Thursday considering he was the only one actively pursuing the truth last season and the only one they didn't try to buy off or corrupt the previous season either. Can't arrest a man just on a hunch, has to be facts like Morse believes in.

As seen in his opening scene Thursday is tired and weary and has seen too much violence and whether or not his years of catching killers really make any difference. Yet he resents Endeavour’s youthful passion to keep digging for the truth rather than settling for a half-truth. And Bright knows Morse is willing to go the extra extra mile to get to the truth. Thursday resents younger Morse nipping at his heels bc in the past Bright had hinted that perhaps Thursday was perhaps a candidate for teaching, hinting at his age. But Thursday kept him as his bagman bc Morse keeps digging, sometimes right sometimes wrong, until he gets to the truth.
