Love how the first penguin demonstrated a textbook dive and the second penguin said "na, belly flop it is."

Oops.
I'm pretty sure some got pushed off or slipped off, but still... the instinct and capabilities in these little penguins is amazing!

sure the flying mechanical bird herding them to the edge had nothing to do with it

If you look closely at the ice beneath them it seems some of them peed a little while preparing to jump 😭💕 bless em

@@carolynbodnar2334 Huh? I wasn't asking anything? Was that meant to be in response to me or someone else?
I want to think that the first penguin after his jump yelled "come on everybody the water is really good !".
I was never so proud to born as a human and witness the miracles of nature. Thank you National Geographic. This video will stay in my heart forever.

Ohhhhh that first one😍, bless his little penguin heart. It takes courage to be the first, penguin or human♥️. Love how they waited to see if he didn't die😂.

The first one is the emperor of the emperor penguins. Alpha.
Wow! Evidently the first one to jump in must have been the leader, just awesome, these birds are awesome! 🤩

An amazing leader.
This literally took my breath away. So much beauty it brought tears to eyes.
Something so sweet and innocent about this!
My heart was in my mouth watching this! What brave little penguin chick's! I'm just off to my regular hospital appointment...makes me feel like a right wimp!..here's to PENGUIN POWER 🐧 ( I've just been reduced to a blubbering wreck looking at this!!) Very emotional!
I love how they're not diving but just plunging off the cliff
Absolutely nothing can make me more happier than I am right now. These beautiful penguins chicks are all braver than me and had giving me the courage to face all my fears with confidence. Thankyou Bertie Gregory for making this incredible and magical video for us.👍❤
This is a very moving scene, and I think the first penguin to jump had the heart of a hero.
THANK YOU, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. Deeply.
I had tears watching this. This is absolutely magnificent.
That first one that took the leap is a certified badass and born leader. I just hope they made it back okay with all that splashing and noise to alert predators
Held my breath was terrified for them. That first brave one. Absolutely heartwarming ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The fact that the clips are recorded just four months ago (writing on April 24) makes it even more fascinating.
Love how they waited to see if the first guy survived the jump.
Incredible, what courage it takes to make that leap! National Geographic always has the most spectacular cinematography, thanks for this.
Im speechless. Absolutely amazing.
We tend to forget how determined & tough the penguin species is ‘cuz they’re so cute & adorable. Their little bodies (& behaviors) ARE delightful. That said, this is merely another of their displays of survival. This is definitive bravery. Penguins (I feel) could adapt to any surroundings - dry deserts, the highest mountains, winds, slow breezes… whatever. Penguins are REALLY amazing (‘Course, I am a bit biased. I’ve followed/studied them for years as a fan AND a supporter)! Thanks, NG for all you’ve done to help them. Your efforts ARE appreciated! 👍🐧🙂
The best vedio I have ever watched. It looks like they communicate each other..the first chic who jumped the bravest one.
WOW this is an amazing video for so many reasons! Thank you to whoever was involved!
Mother nature never ceases to amaze and delight us.
This had to be an incredible moment to have witnessed of these truly amazing penguins and I really enjoyed it!! Thank you for sharing this 🐧
Having a drone really changes the game on cinematic shots. Especially with being somewhat quiet
Priceless! Leap of faith! Thanks for capturing such an amazing event.
I like how they say “look how brave they are jumping off the cliff”. First one jumped off. More than half fell off the edge or were pushed off by the crowd behind.
This was amazing. Thank you for filming n sharing
It was obviously a compilation of different groups of penguins jumping off of different parts of ice-cliffs. Temperature shows most of the water being filled with pieces of ice except the one spot they found and the last shot shows the water being totally clear. There areas where they jumped from were shaped differently in the different clips as well
That is such a beautiful documentary, thank you so much for your efforts.❤❤❤
How brave ! And how clever to not all plummet together and crash into each other in the ocean ! Thank you for this beautiful , up lifting video Bertie 😊
The bravest little birds l know! Please be safe babies and live long good lives.❤🐧❤ Thanks for this National Geographic!🤗♥️☘️🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
We know for sure the first one made his/her own decision. No pushing or slipping ❤❤❤ I guess I’m not the only one tear up while watching this magnificent video. Many thanks!!!
Unbelievable bravery and survival instincts of these young penguins!! Thank you for great video!!!
This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING‼️ 🥺🥺🥺. Thank you sooo much for Sharing It. This is PRICELESS
On the way down... "I thought we're birds--why arent these wings working?!" Cute little belly-flops.
thanks national geographic for these incredible documentaries. the footage is just par excellence
Reminds me of happy feet! When he was the first to jump and everyone followed. This video is beautiful! Brought me to tears seeing these fearless babies jump 🥹🥹💙💙
Time stamp 2:40 After the first chick made his brave, long leap into the unknown & started swimming, he shouts out to the others "Come on in, the water is fine!" 😅 ❤ 🐧
Wow, I'm absolutely blown away. Best nature & wildlife video of the year.
Totally amazing! Thank you so much for this wonderful record!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the beautiful and unique video! Animals are the best of survival. Animals are brave!
Nature is so amazing. Bravo for the stunning footage! Truly a sight to behold! 🐧
amazing to see that. Thanks for sending him and his team on this assignment.
500 years from now they evolve into majestic birds of flight with the ability to also swim
Some of them were definitely muttering “oh, I don’t think so!” While their mates were yelling “get on with it! You’re in our way!” Before pushing them off.
Oh my gosh. This was beautiful!! many thanks, xoxo
Imagine talking about this in the afterlife saying, "bro, remember when we were penguins and scaled a 50-foot cliff on our first swim?"
Thanks for the footage just amazing to see this woww 🙌🙌
The penguins who jumped yell up to their buddies on the ledge above "The water's great folks! Dive on in!"
Just amazing. I could have watched all of them take the plunge, particularly the last 2 or 3!!!
guy filming- "i think alot are going to start to jump" *pengu plopping into sea from cliff flipping through air belly flopping*
Amazing moment.Thank you 😊
This feels like an adulthood ceremonial thing. But really, i was laughing so hard seeing those penguins who was hard-pressured to jump, some even soiled themselves in the process.
Second penguin at 2:53 belly flops like a gangster
Mumble taking the first plunge in real life. 🥰❤️❤️
The fact that they were all there in group prayer before jumping.
A bird's eye view! Wonderful footage! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this phenomenon incident with human world....
I really think most of them were pushed off due to the pressure coming from behind. But great job to the guy with the most convincing job
Absolutely incredible 😊 love penguins 🐧 Thank you for sharing ❣️
I guess it's always harder to lead than it is to follow. This is my favorite KZread video in 5 years.
Truly courageous top birds. In the face of peer pressure, one small step for penguins, one giant leap for National Geographic ❤❤❤
My God this is an extraordinary clip. I cannot wait to see it full length. Absolutely extraordinary.
Really amazing to see how life finds a way in the face of what seems to be insurmountable odds. Thank you very much for the amazing video. 👌
The story illustration is the one i praise the most.... Huge respect to Nat Geo👍👍
Wow, this is truly amazing. Brilliant job.
Beautiful shot right there ❤. Thanks to these guys 😊
Gobsmacked describes how I felt watching this. BRAVO!
What an amazing experience thank you Nat Geo!! 👍🐕🦺🇺🇸
”How do I know if Im ready?” ”You don’t. It’s a leap of faith”
What a fantadtic video, many thanks.
It almost looks like they're squawking: "Don't push, everyone gets a turn!". ☺😎🐧
Just 6 months old 🥰. So couragous! The 1st one had the heart of a lion 😂. Love how they looked up at the others like " im ok, its great in here-just jump".😂❤
I can't believe this is such a wonderful journey for baby penguins.😊
I love this so much! Kinda puts a new spin on leaving the nest.
Most amazing video ive seen in my life. So beautiful!
Thank you for sharing!
This is incredible!! I was so scared they'd get hurt diving from that height, but they were just fine! Amazing!! How the heck do they know what to do?? So cool!!
Gives a whole new meaning to my mother’s “… if all your friends jumped off a bridge…” Thank you to all involved in sharing this!
Fascinating, beautiful, adorable and hilarious.
absolutely one of the world's most beautiful creatures.
Just when you think you have seen it all this beautiful planet and its wildlife serve up the eight wonder of the world. Some of those belly flops must have hurt. Amazing jaw dropping footage ❤
Aww I'm so proud of these brave little guys
The movie Happy Feet got that correct. This is a incredible footage. Well captured
They are so adorable! Tough birds.
My science teacher in grade school insisted penguins couldn't fly. Proved her wrong.
When you think there is only ugliness and hate in the world, remember these baby Penguins and the excitement of a happy life they jump for!! Peace and happiness for everyone!! We can acheive it!! I wish you all the strength, confidence, and hope of the first baby penguin.
Penguins are disturbingly hilarious. Loved the moment of 'silence' after the first chick jumped in lol. An "Is he dead" type of moment for sure😂 Brave lil birds at the end of the day~ Some of em even peed but still went in! That's how mighty they are~ 😎🐧 Thanks for uploading!
how amazing, thanks national geographic❤
Wow oh wow. What a fantastic video. Well done to all involved. 🇬🇧
The Antarctica high diving team in training for Paris 2024!! Thank you that was amazing.
This is so awesome! I love penguins!! Thank you for sharing❤ Now I do not need to go to Antartica to see them. Thank you Thank you!!
The trailblazer, the first one, the unsung hero, so much to learn for us ❤
The noise that one makes at 3:46 is hilarious.! It slipped off the edge and made an "oh sh.." kinda squeal..
Amazing! Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness this is breath taking beautiful we have so much to learn❤
That was absolutely remarkable! The first penguin that jumped has feathers or steel 🥹💕
