I concur 100%. Life just started make more sense to me after I started training. I started treating my family better, friends better, the community better as a police officer in CA….treating myself better. I was able to identify my left and right lateral limits and I’ll forever be grateful to Jujitsu for that.

When people take care of themselves as though they were caring for another person, we tend to make more responsible decisions. That puts us in a far stronger position to be of service to others. That’s how I see it anyway.

I've been at jiu jitsu for 2 months, and this video couldn't have come at a better time. I don't get angry or frustrated, but this week I got panicked every single time someone pinned me down and I couldn't get free. I even landed myself in a half-hour panic attack. It was hard to hear your message, but boy did I need it. I'm just glad I'm not the only one struggling with emotions at an "everyone's tough" type of school.

Great video Nsima. This is exactly the type of content more men need to hear. How many times do we get in trouble by acting or reacting on our emotions. You presented the real solution here perfectly, feel the emotion, remain calm, and take action using the logical side of the brain. I believe you can practice this, separating the emotion from the logic, just like you explained. Thanks man!

And I been getting into muay thai and I was watching WNO Highlights from 2020 and who do see getting a armbar the professor himself. That's awesome too see you compete.🤙🏻 Wow you've been doing jujitsu for 5 years it's been that long damn time flies.

This made perfect sense. You remind me of A young Morpheus for some reason👍🏾💪🏾💪🏾.. Also... How is it you have a whole gym to yourself?! 🤣🤣 One thing about you that always captivated me was your ability to remain stoic while lifting, stretching, and Ju Jitsu.. That’s very effective btw! You know what really triggers me..when these advices are directed to man only. All man should try to remain focused, calm, anger makes you irrational, envy makes you whatever. I get it - the quotes come from time when women were just baby factoroes, but now we are not. And it is full of women out there that need this lesson. All humans should aim to remain calm, focused, in tune with their inner world, respectful to once self and others, be able to protect ones self an others. Damn, women MORE so then man as mothers and their personality affect their kids so much! Forget about muscles - talking about mental toughness you gotto address women, mothers and young girls alongside man. It is not just important but vital! Facts!

Ma'am, you are free to benefit from this advice. You are not being excluded just because the talk was directed at males. There are spaces that a predominately for males as there are for females. Let's try to respect each other and not be triggered so easily.

Holy shit your point of view on how to deal with emotions is awful and flawed. You are making the assumption that all men feel are stress, anger, depression and sadness, and the only way to de-attach from it is to be Vulcans and adhere to logic and reason and calmness. Women express vulnerability and agency in their emotions why can’t men do that? Why can’t men cry ? Why can’t men express that they are being hurt ? Why can’t they lean on another man and be vulnerable without being labeled ‘weak’ ‘wuss’ ‘feminine’ ‘fag’ ? You will have all these unaddressed inexcusable disruptive and disrespectful behavior from people (especially close to you) and you will not hold them accountable or aware and they will continue to hurt you. Your advise May work for you but it is not for everyone. It is misguided with huge gaps failing to cover the broad emotion spectrum of human existence and misconceptions on emotional intelligence
