Badd Medicine here and its Guardians of the Galaxy reaction time
MCU Reaction here! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (stylized in marketing as Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3) is a 2023 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy, produced by Marvel Studios, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), and the 32nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Written and directed by James Gunn, it features an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Linda Cardellini, Nathan Fillion, and Sylvester Stallone. In the film, the Guardians embark on a mission to protect Rocket (Cooper) from the High Evolutionary (Iwuji).
In their new headquarters on Knowhere, the Guardians of the Galaxy face a vengeful adversary named Adam, a Sovereign warrior sent by their high priestess Ayesha. Adam attacks them for stealing from her, severely injuring Rocket in the process. However, Nebula intervenes and wounds Adam, forcing him to retreat. The Guardians discover that Rocket's wounds can't be healed due to a kill switch implanted by Orgocorp, a company led by the High Evolutionary, Rocket's creator.
Determined to save Rocket, the Guardians embark on a mission to Orgocorp's headquarters to find the override code. Rocket's injuries trigger his memories of a traumatic past. He recalls being an experimental subject as a young raccoon, alongside friends like the otter Lylla, the walrus Teefs, and the rabbit Floor. Rocket's superior intelligence led to conflict with the High Evolutionary, who aimed to use him for sinister experiments.
In the present, aided by an alternate Gamora and the Ravagers, the Guardians delve into a quest that leads them to Counter-Earth. Their journey is fueled by Ayesha's pursuit and the threat to the Sovereign race. The Guardians confront past trauma, form unexpected alliances, and engage in intense battles as they seek to disable Rocket's kill switch and thwart the High Evolutionary's plans.
The narrative climaxes with a series of gripping showdowns, revealing the strength of the Guardians' bond and their willingness to go to great lengths to protect one another. As the dust settles, individual paths unfold, with each Guardian finding resolution, growth, and purpose amidst the challenges they face.

    There's nothing for this Gamora to remember. It's a completely different Gamora from a completely different universe with a different life experience from the one who died in Infinity War. She's meaner, yeah, but imagine how annoyed you would be if someone you didn't know kept trying to force you to be someone you're not.

    Rocket's backstory in the movie is so much more tragic. Floor, Teefs and Lyla don't die in the comics. Rocket has amnesia and forgets who Lyla is; she is his girlfriend in the comics. The movie does it Way better. Rocket's body enhancements are better examined in the movie too. I also feel like people overlook Nebula too. When the Snap happened it was just her and Rocket left out of the Guardians. That's five years to build a deep relationship. In Endgame when Captain Marvel brings the ship home with Iron-Man in it Nebula sees Rocket and holds his hand. They grew a lot closer, so her screaming at Drax about getting her sister and Rocket killed is understandable.

    I think people are so used to how Gamora’s personality was when she died, they forget how angry and ruthless she was in the beginning, hence why this version is the same way. Also, Nebula’s story arch is so underrated and not appreciated, her emotional reaction to hearing Rockets voice for the first time after he almost died, broke me.( also a scene every reactor edits out). I have zero complaints on this movie, it was just fantastic.

    I agree! I think people also forget that Nebula and Rocket were the only Guardians for 5 years during the Snap so they bonded a lot and her reaction to him being okay was amazing and so powerful, especially remembering how cold and emotionless she used to be when we first met her.

    It truly amazes me how this movie was such a perfect conclusion to the Guardians trilogy and gave every character a satisfying arc that although might be the end of their story, still leaves the door open to new stories to be told for new members. James Gunn truly achieved something incredible with this trilogy and these characters and I cannot wait to see what he does with the new DCU. James Gunn is also going to do a phenomenal job with his take on Superman especially.

    I really liked that Gamora didn’t stay with the guardians, especially that she didn’t get back together with Peter. I think it’s an incredibly creepy and weird thing to be in a relationship with someone who already knows and loves you (but not really you, some other version of you). and in that new reality she found other friends, another community that made her happy, would be weird if she just ditched them.

    Haven’t seen Blue Beetle yet, but the first few reviews and out of theater reactions have been good. Never was a DC fan. I’m not a huge fan of Batman or Superman. The only three movies that I remember actually liking were the solo Joker movie, first Wonderwoman, and the first Aquaman ( although that one kind of got ruined by Heard being such a terrible person that it got hard to watch her on screen without seeing red). I didn’t even bother watching the new Batman with Robert Patterson even though people said it was good. So far Blue Beetle has been the only film upcoming for DC that I am actually kind of interested in seeing. Hopefully it’s not a bust and I actually like it. If I do, I might consider giving the entirety of the DC universe another chance. Including the characters I hate ( I WANT to connect to Superman, or Batman- because they are just as beloved as Spider-Man or Captain America but I could never connect to the characters and always had a big disconnect with the action scenes. But again, depending on BB I’m willing to give them another shot).

    Great reaction. James Gunn has said that understanding Groot is a form of telepathy and bonding. You won't understand him until he considers you a friend. Why I love the meta of Groot saying "I love you guys". We the audience have bonded with Groot. And before the posts "Why did Thor understand Groot?" James Gunn didn't write the Avengers movies, and he has mentioned many times that he didn't agree with the writing of his GotG characters for those movies. Probably why he included the dialogue in the elevator scene "punching Thanos".

  • @zazoreal5536

    I don't think Thor knowing what Groot is saying makes a big difference at all. The Guardians quickly grow to like Thor while Peter dislikes him. Maybe Groot Really Liked Thor too...Or Thor can just hijack into the Telepathy without needing a bond to be formed. He is considered to be a god. So it makes sense that some higher beings can understand some things in a deeper level.

    Too bad for Gunn. That's what you get when you write for a connected universe. What happens in the other movies matters. It's a plot hole regardless of what he says. Even in his trilogy, come to think of it. By his explanation, Yondu should've understood him at the end of Vol.2. He had fully embraced his role as Peter's father and he was welcomed by Groot himself to the group. He directly interacted with Groot a lot more in Vol.2 than Gamora did in Vol.3, they're complete strangers in this movie.

    Gamora wasn't mad simply because Star-Lord was coming on to her. You have to remember this is the gamora that never had a full redemption arc prior to being thanos's favorite daughter. She still has that killer mentality and main Street that he bred into her through years of indoctrination. She never was able to shed her rough exterior and make the decision on her own to leave her father, she was only convinced by nebula during the battle for Earth in end game. So she didn't have the same growth and instead of finding the attachment to the other guardians the way she did originally her attachment was to her new family, the ravagers, and everything she did in this movie was about getting back to them the way it would have been about getting back to the guardians. Had this been our original gamora

    Also in the first movie they have a common goal and purpose and that unites them. Here she has ZERO ties to any of the team nor any shared commonality with them. The only possible connection she has is with her sister, but her sister might as well be an entirely different person to her because she has spent no time with Nebula. Then you throw in this guy who annoyingly keeps comparing you to something you know nothing about and so anger kinda makes sense.

  • @alexanderthegreat5649

    @alexanderthegreat5649

    9 ай бұрын

    @aaronbeatdown no. She has something bigger in common she helped save the UNIVERSE with them as she EASILY turned against Thanos in Endgame because her sister told her how they become sisters. I think Gunn completely rewrote her because Zoe Saldana was leaving the role. She didn't need much pushing in Guardians to leave Thanos SHE pointed out to Quill about doing the right thing with the power stone and not selling it, easily decided to save Xandar and follow Quill as her and Guardians leader and was always trying to bring Nebula to her side. She was all that in the FIRST film w/o needing Vol 2. IW/Endgame and all those years of time together, now all of a sudden she's the complete opposite of that? She's with the ravagers like Quill said isn't her, only doing jobs for money and not her sister not even caring to be with her sister much, scared to go up against H. Evolutionary but even for her sister but readily would go against Ronan with a power stone, and Thanos in Endgame which is this Gamora for Nebula specifically on his ship when seeing future Nebula memories. That was all this same Nebula with hardly any deep connections aside from yes her sister, but now I'm supposed to buy that she can't even remember Quill name seriously? And saving the universe with him, Guardians, Avengers buys them ZERO good will of spending time with them if not to even be with her sister which SHE was always the one trying to do? She was never this angry and yelling at THEM in Vol 1. Sure she was that killer who was doing Thanos bidding she also used these characters as her opportunity to get from under him 1st chance she got sure it took time for romance between them, but they didn't spend the entire movie being yelled at and hayed by her.

  • @aaronbeatdown

    @aaronbeatdown

    @@alexanderthegreat5649 There's absolutely a rewrite that's happening, sure, but it's not plucked out of thin air. In Guardians 1 she spends at least days with the team in a prison. During that time, Peter sticks his neck out twice to save her life and she's confronted directly by Drax who lost the only things that really mattered to him. Not to mention she interacted with these people over a period of time. In Endgame she sees the future, clips of her life and her sister and sees just how drastic the future is. She supports her sister because she wants to get to that place, a place where she feels she has family. She's just as eager to stop Thanos as she was in Guardians, but we're seeing her play both sides of the conflict more in Endgame. She interacts with Peter once and kicks him. She has no connection or memory of Quill, so she wouldn't know him. All she knows at that point is they're all fighting a common entity. We don't see how she leaves Earth, nor do we see what happens to her during that time. What we can infer is that in that time (based on their interactions), Peter has done his share of trying to win her over again, but she doesn't have any ties to the Gamora he knows. She's with the Ravagers because they live a life close to what she's used to. Morally ambiguous. The Guardians aren't that anymore. Imagine if you work up tomorrow and everyone was interacting with you and responding to you to the version of you ten years ago, but you don't remember those ten years. We see in real life all the time. People that suffer from memory loss having to fall in love all over again. Even though a memory may come back, if there's any sort of emotional tie, that's missing. In Gamora's case, there is no emotional tie. She can KNOW that her and her sister get close to each other in the future but that doesn't change between here and then. Her and her sister still have a contemptuous relationship. We see that in their relationship in 3. They don't talk, they grunt at each other. They don't really have a relationship anymore. So if she doesn't trust the one person she's most familiar with, how is she gonna trust some guy who says he loves her and wants to win her back? Her anger probably starts with Peter and extends to the team. Like Peter, they're all people who have had some ties to the "true Gamora". So even if they aren't actively pursuing it, it makes sense that she's angry or frustrated and why she takes it out on all of them.

    The high evolutionary's defeat is so earned on so many levels. That guy thought rocket was inferior to him and is nothing without him, and after rocket left him scarred, he had the time to develop an entire empire and an army of creatures and a new suit with powers....yet, rocket wrecked him with the help of a couple of gravity boots he was building as a hobby in his downtime. And not to mention, he is still alive (Drax rescued him) and is a prisoner in knowhere (there is a deleted scene)...and will be forced to see "the perfect society" he always dreamt of creating and being the leader of and something he could take credit for, but unlike his dream where it would be made of perfect specimen, this would be a society of so many different people across the universe, some of his own experiments as well, and so many others whom he would deem as outcasts/failures, live together in harmony-and he would be able to do nothing about it but just witness their happiness while being the biggest failure in the universe.

    To be fair, Rocket didn't really wreck the High Evolutionary that much. He just shot him and damaged his armour slightly. The High Evolutionary was just annoyed and got right back up to charge at Rocket. In fact, the *_ONLY_* reason why the Guardians were able to beat him was because they all ambushed/jumped him when he wasn't looking and didn't leave any room between their group attacks for him to fight back. If it had been a "fair" fight - e.g. if the Guardians and the High Evolutionary had been on opposite sides of the room and facing each other, the High Evolutionary would have *_wrecked_* them all *_instantly_* with merely a flick of his wrist (he actually did this to all of them on separate occasions in this movie). The High Evolutionary is one of the biggest bads in the entire universe, so he's powerful enough that even all of the Guardians together couldn't have taken him in a proper fight.

So he says 'I am Groot' and only the people close to him hear what he really means. Towards the end, we hear him say 'I love you guys,' as after three Guardians Movies, two avengers movies and a Christmas special, we as the audience know him well enough to understand him.

    You also have to think how bittersweet it is for groot when it comes to Gamora. She was effectively his mother completely - she practically was the main one raising and babying him since he was Baby Groot. Because technically this is a completely different groot. So Gamora not remembering his sucks.

    I think the reason why Gamora is the way she is because she's a different Gamora. She went on a path different path from our Gamora. I think they really wanted to show that she's not the Gamora that we know and that she's very different. Not like our Gamora who was very kind and empathetic. Also, I think it is very annoying how people expect you to be the person they want you to be. When clearly, you're not. Ps. Loved the movie. Love your reaction ❤

    More than that, the old Gamora had a mission to go against Thanos and found a real family when Quill sacrificed himself for her. The new one didnt have that chance yet. She has no attachments to them and she's not sharing the same goal.

You can understand why Peter feels the way he feels but it’s not fair for him to project that on her and it was constant for the majority of the movie but at least he finally come to terms with it. I'm so happy she didn't get with Quill as much as I shipped them because it would have felt forced in a way. This is a different Gamora who experienced different things and I think it was handled beautifully. She still softened and she still acknowledged she wasn't who he wanted her to be, it's a lot more realistic, you can't just change that quickly.

    The past Gamora left Thanos with a plan and slowly built a partnership and relationship with the other guardians over time. The current Gamora left Thanos without a plan and only because Nebula said Thanos killed her past self. So Gamora still had that gruff harsh attitude and she didn't understand quills lovesick attention and the other guardians. People get mad that she didn't end up with Quill but I think its fine. It would have been too easy.

Definitely one of the most balanced movies in the whole MCU. the High Evolutionary lived and you can just barely see Drax carrying him out in their escape. In the last team scene, we can finally understand Groot because we have been with them for so long to understand his language. The Legendary Star-Lord was a small comic run on its own.

    i dont deal well with animal cruelty so i cried so hard in the cinema when rocket's friends died, it's so tragic because they're a bunch of innocent animals who were experimented on and then there was false hope of them being able to live a carefree life outside the cage, it's straight up pure evil. also the ending made me feel the same relief the guardians felt, that feeling of letting loose and knowing the bs they put through is over and they can rest, it was the perfect ending imo, it felt like we've seen a bunch of our actual friends go through this tough journey. unfortunately for me, rocket's backstory and high evolutionary as a villain were probably the highlights of the film, and i still preferred the first and second one regarding the pacing and cohesiveness and comedy, this time round i didn't really laugh much in the cinema/ some parts were intended to be funny but it wasn't, but it's still the best mcu in this current phase (phase 5?) and as a whole gotg is the best mcu trilogy

Sometimes we just love seeing a villain be a remorseless monster, and get exactly what he deserves. I can't wait to see what he does with Superman: Legacy, especially as Im a big Superman fan. I love the subtle nobs to him having a massive inferiority complex without Gunn constantly having to stop and explain it to the audience. He has to be taller than the High Priestess, the movie implies he is having "treatments" that are possibly meant to enhance/evolve himself, and when Rocket solves his engineering problem he gets angry with him and almost immediately orders him to be killed (his underlings seem surprised he's so obsessed with Rocket. After all, many life forms have the trait of invention. He could literally take the trait from a human mind). He's jealous of young Rocket's ingenuity and he only brings him out to see the results of his help to lord over him and tell him he's going to kill him and his friends.

    I love how they did what they did with Drax at the end. I found it very fitting because at the end of Guardians 2, it was Drax who held baby Groot on his chest and patted his back while he fell asleep. Drax being the only parent knew just how to do it and I imagine his character would have been thinking about the times he would have done the same for his own daughter when she was little. The other good thing about how they did this is if Batista were to want, he could come back and do a less physical part.

    Regarding Gamora's character, she was known to be a ruthless warrior before the events of GotG 1. It was only during the first movie where we the viewers see the vulnerability and soft side of Gamora. Ex: The prison scene, where we can see her afraid of the prisoners hatred of her for being Thanos' daughter, and even her opening up to Quill due to his "pleasant melodies" through music, and not to mention, "pelvic sorceries". Point is, this Gamora comes from before all her development in the first movie. This time, as we've seen she's grown throughout her time with the Ravagers.
