So... 2x6 is also called the Red Flag episode. 🚩 A red flag is of course also a metaphor. So what you can do is re-watch this and actually pay attention whenever there's a red flag in the scene, because it usually means it is a red flag being said or shown in that moment or right after. Some visible examples that made the cut: 20:54 Hange said our "original mission..." was to seal the wall. But as we learn, this is not actually true because our team already knows the identity of Reiner & Bert and they're there for them. 🚩 21:06 Eren asks Reiner if he's alright. But as we now know, he always was okay since he's a titan and he was always able to just heal his arm. 🚩 21:13 Shortly after Reiner tells his tale of how he almost got killed by the female titan, but we now also know that they were actually working together, so he never was at risk of dying. 🚩 22:27 & 22:33 🚩🚩🚩 The episode title also refers to something. Remember how Bert explained how Reiner was more of a "warrior" in the past, instead of a soldier? Annie also described herself as a "failed warrior" when she was confronted at the entrance of the underground city passage. There are also many many scenes that now completely change their meaning that you've seen with the three. In 2x5 you can even see Bert about to bite his hands when the tower crumbles. In season 1, when they're still cadets and the titans got in a second time, after Eren got eaten, there's a moment where they're on the roof and Annie asks the other two what they should do now, and Reiner says "nothing for now, but we'll act all together". In the moment it sounds like he refers to the whole group of recruits there, but with context it completely changes the meaning. It also explains why Reiner & Bert were so shocked by the beast titan, or why they wanted to go with Connie to his village and why Reiner suddenly wanted to pull Connie out again when the titan suddenly started to talk to him. It's one of the reasons why this show is almost mandatory to re-watch, but the rabbit hole goes so much deeper for reasons you'll have to yet uncover that also add to this. :)

Yeah Reiner really does look like the armored titan in stature and hair. There is a mid-episode information card in one of the earlier episodes that shows all the cadet heights and Bertholdt is the tallest which is his physical link to the colossal titan. Annie has the hair and nose of her titan. Erin has the hair and eyes of his titan. Ymir only has the brown hair but her titan is revealed at the same time as her link to it so there isn't much need for foreshadowing. It's more than physical though. I think all their titan fighting styles and behaviors fit them too.

I think the dub for the reveal is so much better because without subs the side conservation is much more casual and can even be missed on a first watch vs subs you are reading everything no matter if it's off to the side and not the main view.

With all my AOT rewatch, i realized that Reiner likes to make nasty jokes. So some of his comrades see him as a joker too. That's how the author want us to see. Thus him telling truth this episode make us also think he is joking or just spouting nonsense. Then taddaaaa. Lightning

You guys miss so much/infer too much in sub. It's hard to tell for instance in s different language if Christa is trying to hide that she knew about Ymir (and rod show has no many twisted and turns) but in dub its much clearer I think and that way you aren't going on wild goose chases in your mind.

I remember first time watching I clocked both Annie and Reiner pretty early just based on the likeness in their titan designs, but I felt so silly that I never suspect Bertholdt who was always with Reiner lmao.
