@@SirSpitsAlotable He says that's why Gamora understood him. Thor wasn't "part of the family" when they met in Infinity War, he and Rocket speak as if it's a language that's learned. Thor says he learned it on Asgard as an elective. Also, If just being part of the family let you understand him, then why didn't Yondu understand him at the end of Vol.2? Yondu had fully embraced his role as Peter's father and he had more interaction with Groot in that movie than Gamora did in this movie, she's still a stranger to them all except for Nebula. And it was Groot himself that welcomed Yondu to the group/family. By Gunn's logic, that should mean Yondu didn't need Rocket to translate for him. It's small inconsistencies like these that don't give me hope for Gunn's DCCU. He's great at small emotional moments but he's not very good at world building.

I feel more multiverse fatigue than superhero fatigue, & even then all they need is more heart & better writing like Spider-Verse. I sincerely pray The Kang Dynasty & Secret Wars deliver as well as Infinity War & Endgame. They need to focus on quality over quantity. Post-Endgame I’ve enjoyed: - Shang-Chi - Wakanda Forever - WandaVision - Moon Knight - Joker (2019) - Snyder’s Justice League - The Suicide Squad - Harley Quinn (animated show) I especially loved: - No Way Home - Loki - The Batman - Peacemaker - GOTG Vol. 3 - The Boys - TMNT: Mutant Mayhem - Across the Spider-Verse - Invincible I’m considering checking out Doom Patrol & Watchmen because I’ve heard great things about those shows. I’m really looking forward to Loki S2, Invincible S2, & Deadpool 3. I’m interested in Daredevil: Born Again, but very cautious because of recently poor Disney+ shows. Also S3 of the Netflix series was some of the best TV I’ve ever seen & set an impossibly high bar.

Sean Gunn definitely is NOT just there because he's James Gunn's brother. He was already a major character (Kirk) on Gilmore Girls way back in like 2000. He was also in 3rd Rock From The Sun, Bones, and Angel, etc all before Guardians 1. He was famous before James Gunn was. And he's waaaaaay more than "proven himself" as Kraglin, because he's also the on set actor for Rocket Raccoon. He's a HUGE part of these movies.

After a lot of time thinking about it, I'd actually say best MCU film, period. I did think of putting Winter Soldier over it but I think I partially only love that one because I'm supposed to love it. As a trilogy I'd still put Captain America above it, but it's really freaking close.

@@galmorzuI honestly prefer the 1st over the 2nd one. I feel like the comedy & the story hit more. GOTG1 is one of the best films in the MCU showing the team’s origin as a dysfunctional family, Peter’s connection with his mother, & setting the pieces in the Infinity Saga with Thanos & the Power Stone. Vol. 2 had a better villain tho IMO & a heartwarming theme about fathers. Vol. 3 is definitely my favorite in the franchise with an emotional Rocket backstory & send-off for this version of the team. High Evolutionary is definitely the best GOTG villain. Captain America is definitely my 2nd favorite MCU franchise. The Winter Soldier is dark and top-tier & Civil War is great. Both films have badass moments with interesting villains. The Avengers would probably be next for me. The 1st film, Infinity War, & Endgame were just iconic/history-making from the first assembling to Thanos’ quest and a full circle end to a decade-long saga. Spider-Man would probably be right after that for me. I loved Peter’s arc in Homecoming & Vulture’s motives. No Way Home was a amazing crossover of 3 separate eras with legendary callbacks and great performances like Green Goblin. It was also a perfect reset for the struggling street-level hero. Deadpool 1 & 2 were FOX projects but if we were counting them, that franchise could end up near or at the top of my list depending on how well DP3 does with his & Wolverine’s long-awaited, R-rated MCU debut.

The collective is once again joining against Eric's opinion on CGI Cosmo. The dog has to emote, in a human-like fashion, act like it's using telekinesis, turn and talk to people on command while wearing a space suit. It makes NO sense to have a real dog as Cosmo and do that horrific just the face style CG. Or just leave the dogs face emotionless while having lines come out of the collar. On a separate note, I really wanted to see their reaction to the "HOW DID YOU KNOW" scene as it was one of favourites, sadly it was left out, so I'll have to wait for the movie to come out on Disney and watch the full length.

The first GOTG was my mom’s favorite comic book movie ever, sadly she passed away from cancer complications in 2015 at just 65 years old. What hooked her to the movie at first was the soundtrack of many of the songs she grew up on, but then she loved it so much that she became a fan of the MCU. It’s why this franchise has a very special place in my heart. So when Dog Days Are Over (ANOTHER favorite of mine and my mom’s) was playing and the Guardians were celebrating/moving on with their lives, I was a wreck. Not out of pain of loss, but of remembering the good times I had with my mom. As for the movie itself, it’s one of my top 10 favorite comic book movies ever, as well as an all time favorite. With a supervillain I have never wanted to kill more than The High Evolutionary. And I love that the song that was played to send off the Guardians Of The Galaxy was the first song we as the audience heard when we saw Peter in the opening titles of Vol 1. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go listen to Come And Get Your Love by Redbone!

I could be wrong but I imagine that part of the reason they used a CGI for Cosmo is because, outside that turtle put in the chamber, I think every animal and anthropomorphic animal was CGI or makeup/prosthetics. It might actually be more distracting if we accept them as animals but then there’s a real dog and take away from the viewer’s emotional connection with all the clearly fake animals that were central to the story. Keep in mind, they used a real dog in Cosmo’s cameo in the first film so they are very much capable of using one. I can understand the sentiment of having too much senseless CGI clogging up a much overworked industry. Looking at you Thor’s stupid helmet in the last film! But here I can understand why they deemed it the better option to go with CGI Cosmo. If its gonna take you out of the film, it’s best to have it with the secondary character than Rocket and his friends.

Sure, there are some scenes that require CG, but most of the scenes could have been done without. I think the argument he was making is that the use of CG when it wasn't needed breaks the immersion. Heck, look at some of the old Jim Henson work. In Labyrinth, Fraggle Rock and the Storyteller, they use a real dog in several places and sometimes they use a Muppet. The real dog helps you believe the Muppet.
