Hey, @a-dub. I'm in dire need of your help. I have am EM-1010 and I can't get my tension set correctly. I've wasted over $500.00 of thread and cut away backing. What do you have your top and bobbin tension set at?? I need to start getting stuff made and sold as I'm about to lose everything that I have.

How are you able to set up your logo that low (perfect) on the EM-1010?

On a cap

You mentioned digitizing, what did you do different on your lettering for your side cap? I’m having difficulties getting the right lettering for some caps I’m working on.

I don’t do anything different in digitizing for the side of the caps. As long as you hoop the cap correctly you will have no issues. The digitizing is exactly the same from front back or sides.

Yes i took the chroma classes. But before the classes I was already using the program. I had already taught myself how to digitize with the brother software so when I got chroma I just played around till I found where all the tools where. I also looked at some tutorials Ricoma had online and by the time my date came and I took the online class I already knew how to use it. Yes I can make that video. I have a video doing it but not the actual set up in chroma. I will make one.

A none structured hat should always have stabilizer.

I just widened up the overall hat dimension and adjust according to the design. Every design is different in size so you have to adjust according to the size of design and where you want it to fall on the hat and avoid hitting the bill. In most cases on this specific machine the bill will still rub so put some painters tape on the top.

What's up Adubb, I'm just recently bought my em1010 and have completed my training but have been unsuccessful with the ball cap. I get birds nest when the machine starts on the edge and ruins the cap. Please help where you can.

How long after you steam it do you have to embroider it? Like is there a time frame that the hat stays moist?

You wanna embroider when the hat is soft so as soon as you steam it you embroider on it. How long the hat stays moist depends on how damp you make it. Little steam will dry faster there is no set amount of time because everyone will do this process differently and apply the appropriate amount of steam needed for the hat they are working on.

I wouldn’t suggest going larger than 2 1/2” tall on any design but it can go taller and can embroider from one ear all the way to the other ear. Literally.

What do you go by for a hat that’s two thick. Its said for the money for the EM 1010 is so limited 😢

Yea i tried to switch but they said my credit. But i was willing to add 2000 cash. Did not give me a chance. To do so. Plus everything so so fast. Doing on line. And also. I didn’t see a 25% restocking fee even thought the machine is not shipped to you. The sales people need to tell you up front about that. It forces you to take it or loose 2000 dollars. 🤨 thats bad business. A car cost more than that and you can swith it out if you don’t like. I kmow im going cto oit grow this mach ine

The largest you typically wanna go on a hat is about 2 and 1/2 inch the em 1010 can go from the beginning of the temple right to left.

Because the EM-1010 does not have enough clearance for bills so structured hats commercially. They recommend getting the MT-1501 if you would like to do hats on a regular basis this machine is truly not meant for structured hats.
