Embossed Tin Foil and Alcohol Ink Backgrounds

Hey Y'all. These backgrounds are so fun and to think, it's just tin foil from the kitchen! After you see how to make the backgrounds, hop over to the Whimsy Stamps channel to see how I make one of them into a card: • Nacho Average Card || ...
Come back on Wednesday to see my process making another of the backgrounds into a slimline cutie, as well as a bonus card in that video. Let me know your ideas and suggestions for the 4th background in the video. Thanks for spending some time with me. See you see. Muwah!

    Yes indeed! I actually have another one ; a quatrefoil pattern with with blue inks. Underwater is exactly what my plan was with it! Thank you for the suggestion! Those bubbles are great for that!

    AAAHHHHMMMAAAZZZIIIINNNNGGGG!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! The background with the circles would be awesome with other larger circles in the colors of the alcohol inks so they look like bubbles or balloons. That would look fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity!!! Sending you blessings, love, & hugs!!!

    Always sooooo nice to escape to watch you. Great technique. I Remember your previous rusty gears and cherish my personal sample you sent to me. I too first thought bee, thinking the folder dictated that, so quickly reverted to a rusty door and metal. Hugs ! ( a straw works well as a cheap blower or a baby nose sucker (sorry yuck) from dollar store). Luv ya

    Absolutely right regarding the blower options. I've used a straw before. In the moment though I was no at all prepared so I improvised 🤷‍♀️ in the end is alright. Thank you, love ❤️

    The adhesive I've been using is a removable sticker paper from Rock Paper Scissors on Amazon. This is where I ordered it: www.amazon.com/Printable-Sticker-Paper-Count-8-5/dp/B01M6XBILQ/ref=sr_1_8?crid=1WDPO0QSFGESZ&keywords=rock%2Bpaper%2Bscissors%2Bsticker%2Blabel%2Bpaper&qid=1696014840&sprefix=rock%2Bpaper%2Bscissors%2Bsticker%2Caps%2C91&sr=8-8&th=1

    Holy smokes! First question... How did all that ink get on the back of that panel. I don't understand. But you make good use of it! Because that card is phenomenal. And I don't use that word lightly for good reasons. And as always don't make me go out and buy alcohol inks!!! Why do you do this to me? 😁😁😁 You're just amazing. Thank you for sharing. Hug, 💛TR

  • @handiscandiscraftyventures7439

    @handiscandiscraftyventures7439

    Hahaha! You are funny! The ink is on the back because the foil is very thin, and even with the adhesive on the back, it is still thin and the pressure from the embossing folders going through the die cutting machine, causes tiny little fissures in the foil, allowing the ink to flow right through.

    Do you seal this technique?

  • @handiscandiscraftyventures7439

    @handiscandiscraftyventures7439

    8 ай бұрын

    I've never used a sealant with alcohol inks, no. I have tried other mediums, and I continue to experiment. If I use a medium that does not dry permanently, I have put a sealant on it, for instance oxides or other sprays.. They never fully dry on foil. So I did seal them. I can't say that it helped that much, to be honest.
