Alcohol Ink on Embossed Foil for Card Making
Laurie Trumpet demonstrates a technique for creating greeting cards by painting embossed aluminum foil with alcohol ink. This is a very easy project alcohol ink artists of all levels!
Laurie Trumpet is a mixed media artists who works mostly with alcohol inks and acrylics. She has been creating with alcohol ink and mixed media since 2012. In 2017, Laurie founded the Alcohol Ink Art Community, a large community of alcohol ink artists. She also started the Mixed Media Mad community in 2018; and helps other artists with marketing their brands at ArtBugle, Art Marketing Community!

I’ve used the ‘pounce’ technique on a variety of metallic/glossy cardstocks. I’ve found that the pounce technique on highly detailed embossed images tends to detract from the detail. More solid / blended colors, on the other hand, lend themselves to foiling while the ink is still sticky. LOVE the pounce technique for backgrounds that support large images. And isn’t this just the best - to share what we’ve learned with others. 💕

Can you use a brush to paint on the alcohol ink on the embossing? Or must a stamp be used?
You should really just use permanent makers on these because that's what permanent markers are: alcohol ink.
