Bless you, your mum left you an eye for colour. This is spectacular!
They were stunning Sharon. Loved the effect it gives.
These backgrounds and your cards are about gorgeous,
Sound like you had a great mom🥹❤
Fabulous idea I’ll have to try! Yay for Mums who let us have ‘stuff’ to be creative.
Hi, new subscriber. my mother, although crafty, didn't like us messing the house up. I, however, was a mother like yours, as long as there was a vinyl mat and paper over the table my kids could do whatever they liked. I have loads of craft stuff and I would put it out for them to have fun with and it kept them entertained. I did the same with my adopted grandchildren. One day I was using punches, my nearly three grandson was watching. I had to go out to the shop for half an hour and come home to a piece of paper on the fridge with little punched out shapes around the edge of the paper that he had put on the fridge where all their art masterpieces went. They were always very proud of their creations. I'm sorry for your loss, you must miss her very much. I hadn't thought of using Vaseline, will have to get some and try it out.
Oh Sharon, your mom sounds like such a wonderful woman! I’m sorry for your loss. ❤️ This technique is so fun and who knew you could use Vaseline for a resist technique?! Tyfs
I am so sorry about your mom - I love the memories that you shared with us and your upbringing with a loving creative mom. Beautiful cards!
I love to see you blowing through a straw to move the ink around
How special that you shared memories of your mum.. it felt like mum was crafting along with us. Thank you for this gift.
Even though it has been a few years, losing your wonderful mother has to be so difficult. It sounds like she was your best friend and had a fun spirit. I am grateful to her for helping you cultivate such amazing artistic talent! I so love watching your videos. You are a blessing to this community of crafters, and I hope you take comfort in knowing that. Wishing much joy fills your heart.
These are gorgeous and I love your back story.
Beautiful cards, thank you for sharing! Crafty virtual hugs from Alberta.

Gorgeous cards!
Thank you for sharing your memories of your mom with us. My mom is gone also and when I was young she used to do painting with this paint that was in a tube that had tips on them, I can't for the life of remember them name of the, and I believe she actually sold it for a while. A lot of the paintings were on this black felt like material, I remember metallic colors and she did a lot of wild animals, leopards, lions, etc. Thanks for bringing back those memories for me!! I am definitely going to do this....vaseline, who would have thought! I like the foil on top leaving just those hints of gold, so pretty and your cards are gorgeous. Thanks again for sharing...💖💖💖

Hello. I believe the paint you are referring to is Tri-Chem. My grandmother also sold them and I can’t tell you how many items I still have (even in felt) that need to be painted. Of course the paint tubes are long gone, I still even have some of the tools that were used to help clear the tips. I had to comment when I saw yours because you’re the only other one in this community that I’ve seen that knows about them. Take care. 😎

@@AmeliasMiMi yes Tri-Chem and I think theire was a brand that started with an A. Artez or something like that! Oh the memories! She had a lazy Susan that the paint tubes stood up in, tip down.

@@pamjohnson3784 yes! I was thinking there was a name before it was tri Chem. Was it maybe art chem? That was a minute before my time but my great grandmother used them. I remember my grandmother talking about them. I still kick myself for getting rid of the paint holders. I could have repurposed them into something. And it was within the past five years that I got rid of them. 😫 🤣🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ Oh well, live and learn. But I love the memories they still evoke 🥰 good times. 😇
I can identify with the bad back and know what it means to need something to bring joy in your life. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and think your backgrounds/cards are stunning.

Oh Dana is it you with the bad back? People who are without back pain have no idea what it feels like. It’s hard for my husband because I look just fine. I often avoid doing things that make it obvious. In the end it makes me tired and clumsy. I wish I could edit real life like I do my videos lol. This morning it was blueberries all over the floor. My little dog loves them so he cleaned up the floor for me😁💕
So so sorry you lost your Mom. TFS! 😍
This video just came up in my list, hopefully you’ll still see my comment after all this time. It must be said how very creative you are. My mom loved to make things. She’d go for a walk and come back with drift wood and rocks and turn them into something pretty. Thanks for reminding me of that and how fun it was. I always learn something from you. Love watching your videos, would love to come over and play sometime but unfortunately I’m way down here in the Texas hill country! Thank goodness for KZread, at least I can watch! TFS
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing and creative talent. I love everything you have done and it is incredible. I've saved all of it! Sending hugs and blessings from Canada. 😍
So sorry To hear about your mum. These are so beautiful - such a clever technique definitely going to try this! Thanks!
Just Beautiful‼️ Thank you.

Sorry about your Mom, I lost my Mom almost 10 years now and I think about her all the time. This is technique I was going to look up after the cards you sent me..... I'm just getting around to it..... I love it..... can't wait to try in..... Just want to sit down and make lots of backgrounds for further cards. Thanks Sharon for everything you do....🥰🥰🥰
Great technique with the vaseline. 😃
Thank you for making this video. Covid produced some good things when people were at home!
New ideas for me! Thanks!
Very Pretty
Hello, so I found your channel yesterday from an other hop, boy I am so glad that I did. I would come and visit you for tea, and crafting. I too lost my mom 24 years ago from Cancer she was only 58 yrs old, 10 days before her birthday. I feel your pain. I am so sorry for your lost, I am so happy you can use her teaching to teach others. What an amazing gift and legacy to her. Keep doing that. Your story made me think of all the things my mom use to do. I just passed my mom's age (59) in April that was so scary. Sending blessings to you.

Moms are incredible people. Thank goodness they make us the strong intelligent women we are. I feel her with me all the time but especially when I’m crafting. Its funny she was a teacher so I think she would be extra excited by my you tube adventure. Cancer is such a terrible thing. I’m sad to think that you not only lost your mom but you have to endure times of fear because of it. It’s something I have never thought about but that sucks. I wish I could give you a big hug right now💕 I believe that our loved ones surround us and watch over us if they’re not with us any more. Your mom probably hasn’t left your side since early this year and wants most of all to comfort you and to let you know she’s right there. I hope I didn’t upset you. I don’t know why I feel so strongly to say this. Sending you a giant hug💕

@@SharonLuska nl it's all good, I think of her all the time. When she died I had a 3 month old baby girl. So my Victoria has given me so much love. Both my girls middle names are those of their grandmother's. I tell my girls many stories of my mom. Once again it's all good. I love mom stories.
These are absolutely beautiful!
God bless your mom. She brought out your natural energy and talent.

So sorry for your loss, I’m told it gets easier (would love to know when) Absolutely Love this idea and your cards. I watch a lot of craft KZread, as since I lost my mum a couple of years ago, I can’t get my head in the right place to create, as the last things I made were for her birthday & Mothers Day ♥️

I had to come and check this video out again, it was so amazing the first time and even more amazing the second time around! Such lovely cards! It's so wonderful that you have such endearing and fabulous memories of your mom. I do too, that's what makes me smile every time I create something beautiful!!! So grateful we're in this life together! Stay well, blessings & hugs!!!

Beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing your story with us. Your mom is smiling when she sees what an amazing human being her daughter is. Totally worth the 'paint messes' she had to clean up. 🙂
I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! Can't wait to try with all different types of mediums!!
Really beautiful cards and you have inspired me to try some new alcohol fun!!!
Well I'm already subscribed and I did like it. I hopped over here from Alli's channel because she was doing a hop about Casing the Creator. Like I told her I do not use alcohol inks very much at all. But I do enjoy watching it 😂 however, you two have made me want to get those few I have out and take a look at them. Thanks for the inspiration! TR
Loving your work. Subscribed to your channel and will look back. Fabulous!

Hi Sharon, from Australia! I recently found Katherine Kelly in You Tube and she suggested we go check out your you tube channel. I randomly chose this video to watch first and I loved it! I like videos that share card ideas but am specially drawn to ones that are relaxed and chatty and not too long! Just like this one. It’s nice to get to know the card maker a little as you watch. So sorry you lost your mother in such a difficult way, but it seems she was in inspiration to you and now you get to share that with me! As far as the cards go... they are stunning! It looks like you have to persevere with those inks to get them just right, but they were beautiful backgrounds for your cards. I am a cardmaker on a budget and have resisted getting into alcohol inks (you just can’t do it all, right), but I will still happily watch others using them! Thanks again for sharing. I’ll be watching more! Might even make a coffee and have a binge watch! 💕
I have yet to play with alcohol inks. This looks like a super fun technique. Great cards, what a fantastic stop on the hop! thank you for participating today! -Renee'
Thank you Sharon... I have just found you in the past week and have to give you lots of love. You are a well standing member on my FAVORITES list. I love your frugality and demos. Again thank you for sharing your knowledge.
