I am just a couple years behind you and grew up within a good walk to Graceland and you are right, he gave a lot to the community and city. I remember it being said he would give a new Cadillac away every Christmas to a random person who would happen to be on the car lot looking.

Elvis, was a gift from God, to the people !

I am in my 70s and there is never been another person like Elvis..

The man could have sang the white pages and had a gold record out of it. What a voice. What a range... I saw Luciano Pavarotti being interviewed a few years back and they asked him who he liked to listen to. He said Elvis! He thought Elvis had the best natural singing voice he had ever heard. Rolling Stone wrote that Elvis was the finest vocalist Rock and Roll has yet to produce. Amen.

Man, he could do beautiful things with his voice. All his songs have a special touch to them.

Elvis was truly one of a kind. He's made more people smile than the "Mona Lisa".. I've worked with a few people in the film industry in Hollywood who knew him personally, and they would say Elvis had this wonderful, unique way of including people in his life..

I just said the same thing…. Pure GOD GIVEN TALENT…. Just think how much more he could’ve done!! Movies, charities, how much this great man literally could’ve changed the world and I TRULY believe that with ALL my heart!! His humanitarian work alone could’ve brought so many people together and so much more happiness and love and pure joy into this world! I really believe he could’ve made a HUGE difference had he not died so young!!

Born and raised in Memphis! I saw Elvis many times and talked to him twice when he lived here. Saw his first concert here at Russwood Park (our baseball stadium) and saw and talked to him with Natalie Wood on the back of his motorcycle one afternoon. I wish we would have had phones with cameras back then. He was good to Memphis and gave so much to absolute strangers.
