The man was mesmerizing no matter what he was doing, on stage or off. Of course he was gorgeous & talented but he also had a warmth & humility that just drew people in. Whitney Houston met him when she was a kid & said she couldn't say hi to him, she could only look at him because he "was so amazing to look at". And her mother Cissy, who sang with him (as one of The Sweet Inspirations) for a while, was talking about how nice he always was & treated everyone the same. Then she grinned & said "...and so good-looking you didn't even want to look at anything else". And it was true. If you ever saw him live & close up, believe me, you'd realize that pictures & film don't do him justice. He was so beautiful it was hard to believe he was even real. Add the voice, charisma & personality & he was really something special. Truly. And unforgettable. 💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙

Behind the scenes gives a good sense of everyone involved as a group. Yes, it's taken from the DVD "That's The Way It Is" that was filmed by MGM for his 1970 Vegas shows -- the stage performances were filmed over 6 different shows. Thx so much.

Great reaction. Elvis's band members mention how much fun he kept rehearsals. He'd get down to business, but often they were more like jam sessions. He'd joke around, laugh and just loved playing for hours. That part where he starts singing, he claps and points right at drummer Ronnie Tutt or Bassist Jerry Scheff indicating that's where he wants them to come in. In the states, Amazon carries the two disc version of the documentary "That's The Way It Is" that contains both the theatrical and re-edited versions where many of the 1970 Vegas performances and prep rehearsal footage can be found. I imagine you can probably find it as well where you're at.

This is from the movie That's The Way It Is covering his 1970 Vegas engagement And the other movie is Elvis On Tour that follows his 1972 domestic tour (my favorite) If you're interested TCM just put both back up on HBO max for his 88th birthday that was on the 8th.
