About Elvis:
Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).

Kelvin Harrison Jr. as B.B. King, with just a few minutes of screen time, is fantastically soulful. His delivery of the line "if you're sad / happy and you wanna be sad / happy, you're in the right place," is so warm, so supportive, I feel personally comforted just watching him. You really feel B.B. would have been a best friend for life had they kept strong contact; the idea of Elvis being prevented from collaborating with heroes and peers like King is heartbreaking. This sequence, including the window discussion, hit many richly emotional notes for me, it's just masterful.

Elvis and BB hooked back up in Vegas backstage I think or in a room, and played a lot blues in 69 or 70. Same as James Brown sang in a hotel room with Elvis a bunch of Gospel, but yeah the official colorations never occurred sadly
Someone else mentioned this but you gotta appreciate how even though Elvis clearly felt overwhelmed by everyone surrounding him, he still did his best to shake hands, smile and sign autographs.

Bravo to Baz Luhrmann for emphasizing how much Elvis was influenced by soul and gospel singers. You can easily hear that in every song he sang. This is my favorite scene in the film. Elvis escaping to where he felt most comfortable and welcome.

Sadly, the Academy hated it. They only liked it enough to nominate the movie for an award, they didn’t want him to win. I admire Austin's dedication to this role. He put every part of his heart and soul into this. He's a great actor and I can't wait to see what he does in the future.
This is my fav scene of the movie beside the 68 comeback special and obviously If I can dream.
Austin Butler is great!! I love this film
Let it all hang out EP!!Love it
This the best scence. Where elvis was himself. I would if love to have been there in memphis ,this is my kind of music . No wonder elvis liked being there. The guy who played little Richard was great. Great scence!

Anyone notice that cool purple Cadillac with the white interior. Could you imagine seeing Elvis pull up in that on a Friday night downtown. And that cat playing Lil Richard absolutely destroyed it.

I told my daughter that I would drive that purple Caddie right now! What a gorgeous car! And a beyond gorgeous man driving it!
"If you do, you'll make a lot more money than that kid could ever dream of"
Every era has a great window in music. Elvis, Jerry Lee, BB King and Little Richard are certainly a great one
Austin Butler Amazing amazing actor I have never seen such a real emotional delivery that I managed to live that time for more than 02:30 minutes dancing singing acting with faces and mouths and visceral expressions a spectacle of acting Elvis Presley deserves this star that appeared in the cinema.
Besides marvelous Little Richard, BB and Elvis, I love the tiny Marie Knight's cameo with Sister Rosetta Tharpe chilling during their time together, simple detail but with a enormous meaning
Rufus Thomas on the radio, B.B King, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and Little Richard. Can’t get no better
The cars are the reason why this scene is iconic

Also Little Richard
I saw an interview with BB king talking about Elvis, lots of respect, he recognized the talent and the legend, but this closeness....to all of those artists...poetic license. Elvis knew he was taking from them.
The amount of respect they have for each other is amazing. Little Richard is such a beast!
Its amazing to know i live in Memphis and know that Elvis was on Beale street and i never ever been to Graceland here lol it just shows how much history this city Has had !! And continue to make legends here in Memphis Tennessee 💯❤️
Honestly I’d love a Baz Luhrmann Little Richard movie with this guy
I love every second of this movie and this scene was phenomenal.Elvis is going to see for the first time Little Richard and he like him a lot. That performance was amazing.I must also mention B.B.King and Sister Rosetta Thorpe.I was thrilled with this scene and these actors who really bring me back to 50's!

I liked it too. HOWEVER, do you agree that they missed a HUGE opportunity at club handy? Right after little richard sang "tutti fruitti", they should've had elvis rock out to "mean woman blues", that would have been EPIC!!!

I think that it would be great that Elvis join Little Richard on stage! What a great performance that two legends will made!
46 years since his death and finally a movie showing the real Elvis . Rest in peace Elvis and Lisa Marie Presley.
I love this movie, he felt happier we’re he was able escape where he felt more at home with his friends, he’s manger could never understand him,
The remix with heartbreak hotel is ✨
The scene with Little Richard is awesome 🤘🏻
He’s gorgeous
The guy who played BB King I meant to say I loved his part🥰
The portrayals in this movie were all so amazing and so spot on. Brilliant 👏🏼
