It was incredible to see your use of black / white / green with touches of wood. Thats my HEART for summer decorating. The use of these colors in this application is very uncommon and oh so beautiful. I love the simplicity and uniqueness of the combination. Basket tutorial...amazing. Always the teacher. I loved the tutorial on your basket, it turned out so beautiful, as did your front porch. I love the flowers you chose as well, so elegant. I purchased a 7 pc set of real wicker furniture for my front porch at of all places KMart 23 yrs ago for just over 100.00. They have held up beautifully, I did have to respray them with a fresh coat of paint twice, but they're on a huge front porch that's really protected from the elements unless the weather has alot of wind. I add new cushions and decor each year to change color schemes if I want, as well as flowers. When I look at the price of real wicker today, I feel blessed that I got mine for the price I did.

Hi Sarah! I love the welcoming and elegant look of your porch, well done! I had to watch it a few times because I was feeling like something was off. Just in my opinion, I think it's the barrel height. Maybe it would look more proportionate with a barrel that is level to the height of the arms on the chairs. That way, you and your husband can sit and talk more comfortably and have a place to put your drinks down. Maybe it's just me but I have a thing about scale and proportion when it comes to decorating. Still, the whole look is stunning and beautiful!

My mother’s front porch in her farm in Georgia looked like this. She used a primitive wooden bench as a coffee table. She hung very old horse bits from the porch roof and used then to attach baskets for plants or sometimes a collection of old cowbells.

I love it when I have an inspiring video to watch, while having my morning coffee. ❤️

I used your faux wood technique last year on my nightstand lamp. The lamp was perfect except for the cheap looking plastic and now it really does look like raw wood. My lamp was thrifted btw

Love the green velvet pillows against the black adirondacks. This all turned out so beautifully. I have an old tall black lantern like yours, and I took antique gold Rub and Buff to just the top of it. And left the rest black. It was a simple update with alot of impact.

Your porch looks awesome! I'm having difficulty with my new entrance. It's a large deck, centered between windows and the front door, but unfortunately no roof. It's on the East which means hot sun until afternoon and I'm not sure how to dress it up to make it inviting but also survive the SUN!

Sarah, do you live in Seattle ? Love everything you do, the porch looks amazing!!!!!

I'm wondering two things - 1. why you added the white paint to the basket and then covered it with the wax which - unless it just doesn't come through on the video - seems to obliterate the white? And the very tall barrel which seems to block one person from the other, partially obstructs the view from the window, and is too tall to rest a drink on without getting up out of your chair? It all looks good but I am more interested in how things work in terms of actual use and comfort. Thanks.

The two products together make light tan streaks all over. Yes, it sounds like you would like a lower table, if it were your porch. It would certainly be more functional.

My daughter sells them as pets, usually young children buy them. It’s the sweetest thing to watch them pick out their bunny.❤

Can't animals get to your bunnies and chickens etc. ? Is there a top you can add? Love your porch :)
