Decorate With Me! Front Porch Decorating Ideas 2024, for Spring and Summer

Decorate The Front Porch With Me!
It's been 6 years since I had a true front porch to decorate for the spring and summer months. Our last home had a small stoop that I tried my best to create a welcoming entrance with. However, our new home has an amazing long front porch and I'm excited to share it with you.
I'm making over this front porch on a budget with thanks to today's sponsor, Yita Home.

Here in Texas brick homes are painted all the time. No moisture or rotting problems. Of course it is boiling hot down here. Your porch turned out really cute ❤

Grace this turned out great, I like that by simplifying the space it elevated it. Nicely done, can't wait to see your other projects.

pretty update! You may want to consider putting a couple bricks at the bottom of your plastic planters (under the upsidedown pot) to keep the thing more stable. rght now your planter is top heavy. Also, Sarah Richardson several years ago stained a brick house. The product let the brick breathe, and it permeates the brick, it's not just a surface application. At that time (several years ago) the product was available only in Canada, but maybe it's made it's way to the US by now. UPDATE: it's Sarah Richardson's "retro ranch reno" playlist on YT.

Thanks for the tips!
Looks so much better without the rails. Love all the summer decorations. I would make the columns bigger when your ready to do the brick. Great job!

I’d like to! But the columns come all the way to the edge of the concrete. So they’d have to be moved. We are considering it.
Love the idea with the plants! Beautiful porch transformation ❤

I'm pretty sure that was not mouse poop behind the shutters! We had the very same thing- looked like mouse poop everywhere on & under the shutters. When hubby checked into it, he found 5 or 6 baby bats and mama! He shoo'd them away & scrubbed the house & shutters. So far so good- she hasn't tried to move back in! Didn't want to harm them, but they need to live elsewhere!

Love removing the railings... But I am always Team Shutter. I just think is looks homey and welcoming. Love the green, white and purple color combination. The two wood benches add a nice texture.

Thank you so much! They are all linked in the description.
I have the exact brick and i hate it. I have thought of dry brushing the brown brick in an olive color or some complimentary color. I am just afraid of lime washing because it may become dated too. I am just all over the place with how to update our brick.

There are definitely a lot of options! I like your idea! That sounds like it would be a great alternative if you want to keep a main brick color.
I have a front door assembly similar to yours. I was thinking of painting the trim and door all one color, see how you have the white trim separating it? Also, adding some wood trim to the top and sides of the door (on top of the brick) and painting all that, again the same color. I was thinking it would make the door more substantial. Are you thinking of doing that? Also was thinking of using stain on my red brick instead of paint. I heard from expert it would let the brick breathe.

I think that would look very nice! I haven’t read up much on staining concrete but I’d love to know how you like it if you do it!
...I think it's somewhat important to have some sort of railing on a Porch, especially if one has children,..a lower railing can still allow a good view. Theres no privacy with it being completely " open " and nothing to prevent falls off of the Porch, etc I have had b o t h types of a Porch... the .Porch with a railing ( that isn't as tall as your previous one).makes more sense .

We love our no rail porch. Little ones have a blast, jumping off the small 12 inch drop and it has been a lovely experience for us. One of those preferences, each person makes for their own home.
What garden zone do you garden in? I live in central IL. Never heardvof perennial fern.
