Elden Ring - Weapon buff + Crossbow Interaction

This was fixed in 1.05 but it still works on weapon ashes and shields.
The way weapon buffs usually works means the buff is only application to whatever you applied it on, but for some reason this doesn't apply to shields and crossbow. You can use this in conjunction with the Shield Bash to rack up status effects while blocking attacks (this is particularly potent with a bleed application on the Spiked Palisade Shield), or do what I'm doing here and use it with the Pulley Crossbow to proc bleeds with regular bolts.
It doesn't work for bows since the buffs dissipate immediately when you two-hand a different weapon.

Huh, you're back. As you can see, everyone is amazed by that.
This works with any ash of war that coats your main weapon, using the ash of war Chilling Mist with fire bolts you can immediately start applying Frost as soon as it procs without having to wait.

I actually did some further testing now and the interaction also applies with any grease. This means it's way better to rot your main hand for rot applications rather than actually craft the ammo since you'll get way more effective ammo out of it. It's a pain in the ass to farm Aeonian Butterflies so this ends up being pretty convenient. Furthermore, it doesn't overwrite the current bolt's status effect, so you can poison/bleed/freeze + rot at the same time. Gonna have to rewrite the video title and description to better reflect this.

Is it me or just bleed in general feels like basically "meta" effect in ER? Don't remember being able to bleed this many bosses and powerful enemies in previous games.

Too early to tell imo. There are some overtuned weapons and weapon arts that dont rely on bleed though bleeding is indeed rather strong right now.

I feel like it's less OP and more just brought in line with other strategies. I think soulsborne fans are so used to it being kinda bad that since it works now it feels incredibly strong. High scaling strength and dex builds will still probably out damage it per-hit based on what i've seen so far, but the fact that bleed is comparable is a huge change in how we've been thinking of it. I don't see many people talking about poison at all, but it's super easy to proc now with various weapons and for longer fights it's incredibly useful. Satus effects in general are just much stronger now than in past games and I am all here for it.

Nah, Bleed has just been given the tools to actually be a thing now what with the new weapons that focus on it that scale with arcane, which in itself buffs bleed. It's all a bunch of new things that people are scared of.

Is more like most status effects are bonkers in Elden ring. This game is dialed to 11 in every way.
I really hope they don't nerf bleed into the ground like they did in DS3. I don't give a shit if it breaks pvp, I want to see those chunky hits on mobs.
