@@Entrepreneurr while demons souls is a different setting and u can not play it, before dark souls 1 (even though thats a big loss) u cant just skip dark souls 2, because it adds a damn lot to the Overall Story and World of the dark souls franchise. The only reason pwople skip it is because some idiot told them how "bad" it is, based on their own Lack of insight. Even though there are plant of Videos that explain how dark souls 1, 2 and 3 are connected. Dark souls 2s influence isnt just seen in the dark souls franchise, it even has big Impact on Elden Ring. The dark souls 2 Direktor even cooperated with miazaki to build elden ring. If u take a Look at elden ring u will see how much it was influenced by dark souls 2 and how many of its concepts it shares, like a King qho fought giants for his queen, then left the country, thats just one of them. It makes me just sad how some people think dark souls 2 Was "not canon" or "the Black sheep" Wich both is just nonsense

Is it just me or is the high wall of Lothric actually a pretty hard starting area? It's not crazy or anything, but it has some really spazzy, aggressive enemies, it shares all the same enemies as Lothric castle, which is an end game area, and they make that place so hard, so even though they're scaled way down they still make the place pretty dangerous

I actually prefer DS1 to DS3, even though the bosses is arguably the best in the series in DS3. I really like it as well, but I to me it felt like a "best of album" with the new Anor Londo, Siegmeyer 2.0 etc. DLC is POG on the other hand. Bloodborne is amazing and that is coming from someone that is not really a fan of the aesthetic.

summoning is the real thing that breaks the game i consider most ashes of war like an extra spell pretty much except for ones like bloodhound step and stuff like that but being able to have a boss take time off of you to focus on something else (some being able to literally solo bosses themselves) it gives you way too much leeway to think of an easy strategy or cheese it with a big hitting AoW

The thing is, the boss patterns in DS3 are a lot more reasonable for the average person to master after a few tries. Even nameless king, the hardest boss in the game, killed me around 10-15 times my first try with DS3. Whereas Melania took me well over 100 tries to beat without spirit ashes in ER . The challenge in DS3 is more fair IMO

Elden Ring was my first souls game. I loved it. So, like so many other people, I bought Ds3 immediately after. Ds3 is an awesome game, but after ER, I found it so easy. Like others have said, enemies are so much more predictable and relatively easy to figure out - even bosses. (*Except Friede - she kicked my ass). But, yeah - I know it's different for everyone, but after ER, Ds3 was just not that hard.

It was mine too but I am busy replaying it now after a few years and beating all of the soulsborne games (except demon souls) and it’s definitely not as hard as I remembered it. I remember getting stuck on the abyss watchers for hours yet I just first tried them almost effortlessly now. Pontiff Sullivahn was a hard roadblock for me and felt almost impossible at the time. I barely scraped through with 2 summons after at least 20 attempts. Now I just beat him solo on my second attempt. He was actually surprisingly easy now and I was expecting to struggle way more. Maybe it’s because I attempted him so much his attack timings were ingrained in me. I just have the skill now to use the knowledge. It’s wild how much better you get with these games after time.

I enjoyed Elden Ring and DS1! I have yet to attempt Bloodborne but I will eventually! What I think isn't fair is that people expect every souls-like to be just as good and as similar to the OG Dark Souls series. Each new souls-like that comes out is made by different/less popular developers, is unique. Souls-like means the game is similar to the souls series, but never the same content. Look at Lords of The Fallen, while it is a souls like, it is it's own unique game with it's own style and content. Everyone constantly judges a game based on it's launch, no game will ever be perfect on release. It's best to wait awhile before making any true critiques. Just because a game is a souls like, does not mean that it's going to be the exact same thing as the other ones or even the og souls series.

Dark Souls 3 showed me that I got skills I didnt know I had. The distance between boss arena and bonfire so far it annoyed me to the point of that when I died I had to run back again... So I started to slowly just evade attacks and learn boss attack patterns and counter attack windows. Parrying still not my thing, but I feel like I grasped how to dodge rolling. In elden ring I abused RoB on my first walkthrough, reduvia, black knife and night comet to overcome hardships, but ds3 definitely made me a better player. I look forward to master parry mechanics as well in the future. Sekiro is my next game.

I'm in one of the Bloodborne Diacord server, and the amount of people who come into the server, asking where the map is or complaining how hard it is to navigate though Yharnam without help is staggering. Like, I think most ER players are rather spoilt when it comes to a few mechanics, everyone else who's played anything from Demons Souls to DS3 had to get on by just our own sense of direction and mental mapping. ER players are lucky in that sense.

As someone who has only played Elden Ring, I've noticed that looking back at the Dark Souls games pretty much everything is taken straight from them. Even some of the enemies and bosses have the exact same mechanics and just slightly altered avatar. Makes me feel like Elden Ring is just an open-world version of Dark Souls. So much is exactly the same.
