I got mine for $450 in the summer time. Tool only. I already have a mower and leaf blower and I use a 7.5 and a 5 on this snowblower. I do 2 three garage driveways and both neighbors long sidewalks. Then I charge, I can’t imagine if I had two 7.5s. Best way to snowblower is to start in the middle and go in a circle so you rarely move the shoot. Great review my man

I just bought the Ego two stage. In time for the first snow here in se Nh. I think it worked very well, but the batteries didn't last the whole job. Not a huge problem. I also have the Ego lawnmower. I can get 1 extra battery and always have a set charged and ready. This was also a first use learning the best way to do the driveway will make it last longer. A couple clogs but the snow wasn't letting go of a shovel either. I have a medium size driveway with a pretty steep hill. It is going to be a learning curve. But a life saver for this storm. 4.5/5 stars (I don't give 5s).

I've had an EGO mower for two years and I've been watching videos on their snow blowers. This is the best one I've seen so far, especially for someone like me who's never had a snow blower. I think EGO should pay you to use this as a promotional video. You've covered all the bases and have done an awesome job. Thank you!

Just picked mine up today ... been waiting for one for a few years now because i also am in the EGO system (mower, blower, trimmer etc) so i have the batteries already. This was a good review very detailed. I bought mine last year and unfortunately it snowed all of 2 inches all winter in the Northeast so I haven't had an opportunity to put it through its paces. I will agree it should be the last Ego tool you buy to the point about the batteries. Only paying $800 was much easier than if I had to start with buying an additional $600 worth of batteries that I'm only using for snow. I now have 3 batteries and they def come in handy more in the spring and summer months between all the other Ego tools I have acquired since getting the mower. Of the two hours I used the blower it was pretty impressive. the 50' throw range is no lie its super powerful. I did have a concern with run time and would caution only using slower speeds unless its needed to extend the runtime, otherwise the batteries will drain pretty fast. I felt like the first battery drained faster than the second as far as the lights indicated but that may have been due to not having the batteries 100 percent topped off.

I would have thought that the only time it freewheels is when not in drive mode? As long as it is in drive and set to its slowest setting; 0.45mps? Then that may curb the run away effect if the motor has some drive friction that restricts it speeding up, but I'm just surmising here. If that hills use is true, then it should come with a bike style, cable to hub, stepped hand brake stay. Someone should write to E-GO. You could always sit on it and slide down the slope and then drive it back up! 😅😂

I'm looking to buy "babies first snowblower" :D this year and I'm already invested in the Ego ecosystem with the mower, trimmer, and of course, chainsaw! :) My biggest fear is running out of juice. It's easier to have a gas can but there are also so many cons to the gas systems. I think I'll give this blower a try. I just realized my two batteries are only 5Ah, so I guess I'm buying the kit with the 10Ah batteries, that's going to hurt my case to my wife.

You may check into your local regulations but in most places it’s illegal to remove snow from your property onto the right of way… I know this is true in all of Colorado. Also for broken shear pin removal, the new pin can be used to push the old one out. Buy a few before you need them 😊

Great Review. I bought this last month and used it once so far after the bad storm in December. It’s loud but not anywhere near as loud as a gas snow blower. My family couldn’t hear it in the house. There’s a higher pitch that’s a little annoying but overall very tolerable. I’m a woman and this was my first time using a snowblower and found this very easy to assemble and to use. I quickly learned to operate all the options after the first faceful of snow and ice from the wind. 😂.

Ah the wind-blown snow in the face! Man! That can really sting when cold enough, makes my forehead go numb and like a headache! That's why some gas blower's have an entire polythene canopy with roof and I thought how that just looks a bit "pants". That was until I was out there and the wind was gusting and the snow blowing at me constantly, then I was wishing for the canopy.

I live in Ct and I have an average driveway. My EGO two stage has been awesome. It runs for about 30 mins on two 7.5 amp batteries. I have other EGO products so I have 4 batteries. These products are geared toward smaller sized driveways. If you have a large driveway then you will need more battery range. I have to change out batteries near the end of clearing my driveway. My driveway is about 35 feet long and two cars wide. In Ct the snow is almost always wet and heavy so the higher auger speeds will be what you will have to use.

I have several older Craftsman and MTD snowblowers that are 2 stage. On mine, the right side axle where the pin goes through to hold the wheel on, there are 2 holes. Push the wheel back and use second hole to pin and both wheels engage but it is more difficult to maneuver but more power. Use outer hole and it is much easier to turn. The deeper heavier snow I move it to engage both wheels and go slower to let machine do all the work.

Similar experiences all round. I actually broke both shear pins on my first use and I had a horrible time getting the remaining pins out to replace them in the cold. Also likewise it took a few uses before I got a good pattern for blowing my snow so I wasn't redoing as much work and could handle the controls. It is very hard to not overthrow the snow given the torque behind the second stage. I too prefer the times when I don't have to use the propulsion. I almost wish I'd bought the cheaper new belt propelled EGO blower, but I've had 2 snowfalls deep enough to appreciate the big capacity. My only complaint is that the auger and propulsion levers move too freely. Unlike yourself I've got a belly in front of me and leaning forward to push it a little usually results in both being on full until I notice.

Maybe? I bought 3 more pair that day and haven't used one yet. I didn't have much experience with snowblowers and the ancient one I had some years back I would have never tried to use at the spot where I blew the pins. It was an area exactly 24" wide so I was actually short about 1 inch I guess and it caught on some plastic edging. I think it's just newbie issues.

What about when the plow comes by and throws a bunch snow chunder at the bottom of the driveway, how does it handle the thicker heavy snow? I have basically the same driveway of you or your neighbor, full three car garage and I can fit 4 cars across all the way down (doesn't taper off like my neighbors) but it's a regular driveway length like yours. I just don't want to fight the bottom of the driveway if the plow fills 2' feet high and 4-5ft wide band of snow at the bottom. troy bilt does fine but it's slow going albeit it's pos so any 2-stage not troybilt would probably be an upgrade. I do like that potentially my wife and teenage kids probably could operate the EGO with minimal supervision vs gas.

I uploaded videos showing the problem a week ago and they tell me that it has “been elevated” to another department because there is no local service near where I live. They say I may need to repair it myself with parts but they can’t tell me for another week. It’s the middle of the winter and their machine is worth no more than a lump of junk metal right now. Be very very careful buying this blower. Mine flashes orange and shuts off every minute or so. Bought some brand new batteries and the issue still persists. I would basically wait to buy this until you have a bunch of snow on the ground you can test with to make sure you didn't get a dud, because support is not very helpful!

Why are there no electric snow blowers with tracs? Because they have not the power and endurace to a gasoline powerred engine!

Gas is still where it's at. If you can't get your gas product started, thats all user error, learn to take care of your equipment, same goes with these batteries, don't take care of them properly, and you'll find 15min run time instead of clogged carbs

I think gas still has the top spot now, maybe in the future electric will be the best but not quite there yet IMO

Batteries are junk and cost a fortune....have this blower and the single stage with rubber auger. 4 batteries In total and 1 season on then. 2 dead batteries 1 of the 7.5 and 1 5.5mah. Should have bought a honda.
