My lowes in Raleigh North Carolina shows the price is $279. I think that's too much for a fan with no battery

I picked one up for 279. The battery and charger starter kit for 199. Each less military discount. EXPENSIVE. But, it seems like the best fan/mister out there for several reasons. It gets hot out here in the summer, and my dogs begged me for it. So, I couldn’t say ok.

A smaller Milwaukee fan is $249 with no battery. Do you really expect to get a 56 volt battery included in that price?

I love this fan. It would be nice to use at a kids baseball game in the dugout or football game on the sidelines for the team here in southern Alabama.

That’s exactly what I bought it for. The kids and coaches absolutely love it. The only problem is when I forget to bring a jug of water and have to buy small bottles at the snack bar. Fortunately the nozzle fits perfectly into the top…unfortunately it displaces a bunch of water. I have a wagon that fits the fan, 2 chairs, a Boombah catchers bag and a small cooler. I could get a 10’ x 10’ tent in there if I make my guy carry his own bag. I’m getting the power station next

A few of my lowes have these on clearance now for $119. They must be coming out with a better version soon

If they could get it to 200 I would buy it instantly. But 280$ without a battery is just too much. Even if it included a small 2 AH I would be happy.

i agree...that $280 price tag without a battery is a bit steep. especially when there are so many box fans available for half the price.

Yeah... With tax this is a $300 piece of equipment which doesn't even run.

The battery is interchangeable with all ego products so it will fit chainsaws, hedge trimmers etc. If you like the ego product and willing to invest in their tools then buying the battery isn’t a big deal at all. I have lots of their stuff and it all works great with this one battery.

I bought this fan worked great for the first 6 hours then turned the turbo mode on & now the fan barely works & if you turn the turbo mode on it stalls out the fan already had to return it for a warranty used it 1 weekend.

I have this fan and love it so far.... my only thing though is with the telescopic handle, I don't know if I like the fact that it doesn't lock in place or not. As far as not having a hose connection well if you're close enough to a hose to begin with then just leave the hose running in a bucket pretty simple. Also I don't know if I care whether or not this fan is a hybrid as far as having two options for electrical supply if I want more runtime I'll bring more batteries and a charger pretty simple as well. My two cents

Since there was no mention made of battery price, I am just going to assume that the functional price for this fan is around $500 with battery, charger and tax. That's my two cents and a few more. This fan, with a "few more batteries" could wind up being an 8 or 9 hundred dollar investment.

@@tribulationprepper787 People who are buying this fan probably have many batteries already. I have the mower, edger, trimmer, and leaf blower. I have (2) 5ah, (1) 2.5ah, and (1) 7ah battery. I need this fan.

For those that wanted to know, this fan is indeed brushless. I took the darn thing apart.

Do we know if Milwaukee or Dewalt are in process of making their own?

Well, that noise just said I wouldn’t buy it. I like to be able to hear my music and myself talk. I was looking to raise the humidity and cool my orchids out on the deck or porch. Also the price without a battery and not able to run on electricity just throws it off my list. I wish it could convert to a standing. I like that it can run upwards or flat like under a table etc. It’s noisy. I would make sure your water is run through a hard water (calcium, magnesium) filter like you would for a pool or in a RV etc to remove the minerals so it doesn’t clog up the nozzles.

I have a question about the ego fan. Can you use it like a regular fan without using the mist?

Picked one up today, it worked fine for an hour or so. Now it's leaking alot of water.

I said RO water but at the rate of water he says it uses, it would cost a fortune and waste a whole lot of water. RO systems waste a lot of water. I have one for my orchids water and it wastes 100 gallons to fill a 32 gallon can. The main problem is the water pressure coming in from the county. I have had times when people come home or weekends that there is no pure water going in the tank, it’s all just pouring out of the waste hose. I cut it off and wait til people go to bed.

Does the fan work from a power cord also or is it battery only? Does it adjust the flow of water to where you can have a comfortable fine mist that doesn't soak the floor in front of the fan?

Ego has great products but they have become too pricey. Batteries are sky high too.

They're luxury products, but not that bad once you invest in the platform with batteries and chargers. I love not having to mess with gas or oil. If you care for them, they will last a very long time and give you your money's worth.

I wonder how long it will take before the water contaminants clogs the misting ports? When they get clogged what is the process to unclog them?

They walk you through how to clean them, take a pin to clean out the holes in the misting ports. They also provide you with an extra misting port, in the event one is clogged. (it's a standard part, so you can also buy them online)

Battery and charger literally more expensive than the fan. No option to hook it to a hose is a negative also. Too bad.

Between the cost of the fan, the cost of the battery plus an extra, reserve battery plus the charger, This thing is an $800 investment. You can DIY one for less than a hundred bucks. I was thinking about trying to cool my garage using one of these but at 2 1/2 to 3 gallons per hour, I would be seeing moss growing on the walls within a month. This video made no mention of indoor use and no mention of battery and charger costs and no test were run to demonstrate the cooling ability.

Amazon has aftermarket batteries for almost half the price, and pretty good reviews.
