I've used a grinder for years on my dane. If you do, start by just getting them used to it around them. Turn it on and let them feel the vibration against there paw by the grip so they don't get startled. Then aftera few days just grind only for a few seconds on each claw (3 to 4secs). It gives them a much cleaner cut and prevents potential cracking overall. Takes time so be patient trying it

Besides being a GORGEOUS Dane, She is such a GOOD Girl when it comes You grooming Her, especially when it comes to Her Ears and Nails. Because You started early doing these things You've made it easier for BOTH of You. It's obvious that She's used to this kind of Attention and seems to KNOW that it makes Her healthier and BEAUTIFUL !!!

I had to clip my own nails while I clipped my River's nails for the first few times till she got used to it. I'd do on hand then one paw and so on until we were done, lol.

I have found over the years the best way and the cleanest way to ‘brush’ my guys is to vacuum them. I just put the upholstery brush on & we are all happy. No, I don’t do their heads. If they had their way they’d be vacuumed every day they love it.

She is so beautiful! 😍 I was surprised to see that see has a similar marking on her chest as my Dane! With the years I've been blessed with my Dane, I've found he likes a rotary file more than the clippers. Also, he doesn't mind ear cleaning or bathing, rather enjoys the process! He definitely gets bunch of love and treats after. Thanks for the vid and tips!

We have an Harlequin Dane, he's 9.5 years old now. He's been an amazing part of our lives but we are getting close to the end now. He is our first but not our last. It was a massive learning curve with diet. feeding, nutrition and when to walk etc but i think we got it right as he's been healthy other than farting lol. A remarkable animal. Almost human lol.

My girl has my nails ground down somewhere, but I am also in public way more than most Danes because of being a working dog (at least in public way more when we're not dealing with all of the weird stuff I keep hearing the humans talking about right now). Other than that, I'll sit and tolerate just about anything as long as I get to touch my girl with some part of my body! 😁💜🐾 Thanks for sharing!

OK All First time Great Dane owner and really excited. I have a almost 6month old black Great Dane named Charlie. How do I go about making sure he is calm enough for me to trim his nails? Gus is so calm and just hands you her paw. What do I need to do to be able to achieve the same results? I also have issues with Charlie jumping up and nipping and he is being very stubborn and not wanting to listen to me when I tell him NO.

Hey Frank. Some dogs are super easy to potty train and others take a little work. You’ve just gotta watch her like a hawk and make sure that she goes potty in the right place. Celebrate like you won the lottery every time it’s a success and you’ll get it corrected soon enough. The path to Dane zen isn’t always consistent, but the results are beyond worthwhile.
