_Schindler's List_ has humor. there's a montage of our hero happily gazing at all the different, beautiful secretary applicants as they struggle to clack a couple of keys each and then it cuts to a rather more homely woman banging out at the typewriter expertly as he looks off in total disinterest. that's a joke. it can be funny. so that's +1 over this for _Schindler's List_ already.

It was when Leslie walked into the room of mannequins and just said 'Ah, room of nightmares, no thanks.' and just closed the door and moved on. They’re pissed because this was supposed to be the start of a huge modern reboot of the franchise. This movie would be the start of a new series and they would’ve essentially replaced the original four as the faces of the franchise going forward. So seeing that people still prefer the originals and the franchise is attempting to carry on without them is no doubt disappointing. Not that I have any sympathy.

I never dedicate enough thoughts to realize this. You are right, it makes no sense for a sequel to the original films to include in it's continuity the reboot that doesn't acknowledge prior events. The next movie wasn't trying to shit on the reboot, they just had to choose what continuity to follow and naturally picked the more successful movie.

The 1980s Ghostbusters was lightening in a bottle made with the perfect comedians at the peak of their careers and it still came out better than it should. Ghostbusters 2018 was cynical, unfunny and made for all the wrong reasons

They actually addressed the destroying ghost vs capturing them in the IDW comics and how idiotic it is to try to destroy ghosts, you can't destroy energy, the ghosts eventually reform, there was about a hundred or so ghosts that had been vaporized and they had all merged into a huge cloud of ectoplasmic energy

22:57 the joke would've worked, if it was delivered straight-faced: mccarthy takes the coffee mug from Kevin without looking, then asks (still not looking): "did you put sugar in this time?". he takes it back, sips, spits back and making gagging noises. everyone in the room but mccarthy notice this. he brings it back, saying "yeah it's in there", mccarthy thanks him and drinks the mug, to everyone's utter disgust. the movie was so close...
