Eel Traps for Catching Fish and Crayfish

Eel traps on Ebay: ebay.us/xL6cm7
I ordered mine from China as there were no UK based sellers at the time. Delivery took ages so the link above is to a new UK seller - delivery should be quick and prices are better than ordering from China....not sure how that works....
These eel traps are compact and are a decent option to have on stand-by in case they are ever needed. Everyone should have some knowledge of trapping and some gear to make that process easier and more productive.
Standard UK legal crayfish traps like this geni.us/F6ZohaX are good and will catch plenty of crayfish and fish but neither the zipper and food bag last very long.
I prefer a more robust version of a trap for long term use and storage and the one in this video fits the bill so I'd recommend it.

To be honest I've not much idea of what Rumble is or does but it seems quite popular among people more tech-savvy than me....and somehow plenty of people have already found the videos judging by the views (and 'Rumbles'?).
Both Odysee and Rumble have new videos uploaded to them as soon as they upload on KZread.

Nice to see native crayfish. Down south the Signal crayfish have taken over.

Very good information, you should show how to make them from a 2 liter bottle in a shtf scenario. I like the cage kinds because they can be more compact and stack Into themself.

Yes they do stack well inside each other and I'd have to go out and buy a 2 litre bottle as we don't drink fizzy pop in our house, lol We used to make traps all the time when I was younger and the bottle trap was a personal favorite.

@@ThousandYardStare Yes, I heard it when I watched the video. But I can't remember seeing a video of you introducing sturgeon into your pond. I didn't know they could live in ponds just the sea and rivers.

@@railway-share3820 There are smaller varieties sold for large ponds and a couple of people brought their sturgeon here to let go after they outgrew their koi ponds. It is usually the smaller one which jumps out and that's maybe around 1m (3') long. The big one is nearer 1.5m (5') long and I see that one mostly around the edges where it hunts for fish and crayfish - that one is massive.

I'm not a fan either - I'd have to be damn hungry to eat an eel when there are so many good tasting creatures on the land and in the air (e.g. rabbits and pigeons / pheasants)
