Back in 1994, Eden was the swan-song of the 1980s, kicking and screaming against the likes of CK One or l'Eau d'Issey. Whenever I smell it, it brings me back to those years, a friend of mine wore it in 1994 and 1995. The shape of the bottle has always reminded me of the gold etching on the Lanvin Arpège bottle. Side note: the U in Guichard is silent ;-)

Eden was in part the swan song of the 80'... if it were not for Hypnotic Poison... which to me has always smelled more 80's than 90's in many ways... except for the vanilla which exploded in the 90'S

I remember when I was a child on the Albert dock in Liverpool 🇬🇧 there was a well dressed elderly lady in a white suit and all I could smell was this overwhelming perfume that I always wondered what it was she was using, years later, my dad remarried to my now stepmom and she picked me up one day, immediately I could smell what I now know to be EDEN 💟 it really is something you’ll never forget, and one of my top 3 of all time 💟🙏🏽

Sooo glad you did this, what a lovely surprise! Im also wearing it today after a long break, but Ive loved it for 20 yrs. If my skin could tell the stories of the passions it has ignited haha Amouage Figment W has a stage that resembles it a bit, it was a nice surprise.

Daaaacob! Im loving this review... Guess I'll have to get me a bottle of eden now as well. Adore those 80's and early 90's greens. Speaking of which - have you ever tried "Volupté" by Oscar de la Renta..? Would love to hear your opinion on that one as well..

I know next to nothing about fragrances but I wanted to learn a bit more about my Mom's signature and I couldn't agree more with your assessments. Both my mom and I have a bit of anosmia and the complexity of Eden is excellent. I wear it when I'm in need of true calmness. In spirit for me it embodies pure speed at a distance it looks extremely appealing but the closer you get you start to feel overwhelmed but not in a bad sense at all, it feels like the threshold between 160Km/H at distance but as soon as you start to get close you're up to 190/200 Km/H. scary in a sense but you can't help to respect it, feels primordial. I can see why my Mom picked this one as her go to as she's refined, very artful, loves plants, a patissier at heart. she's always complimented with everything that's related to her presence and her arts in general. We lived in the desert and i'm pretty sure that made this fragrance stand out for obvious reasons. On a side note I had no idea applying fragrances on your knees was a thing. Sometimes i'll wear some on the insides of my knees pointing inwards (I drive a lot so it was common sense to me).
