ECC Beam Testing at UB using DIC
Ғылым және технология
Digital Image Correlation was used to compute the strain fields while performing a 4-point flexure test on a beam made of the Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC). It shows the capability of strain hardening concretes such as ECC to spread the damage via saturate multiple fine cracking. Beam dimensions are 1.5 inch (width) x 3 inch (depth) x 10 inch (span). Distance between the 2 central loading points is 4 inch.

Hi , please i would like to ask about the minimum resolution required for the images inspection , i worked with a Nikon Dslr camera the image dimensions were 6000 x 4000 pixels , the software was too slow so i resized the images to the half (3000 x 2000 pixels) however the point component still has good representation , is this will influence the result ??
Hi, I was wondering what type of software did you use to perfom the DIC technique? I am really interested on this technique as well. Thanks in advance

We used a Canon DSLR camera. Any other DSLR will work just fine.
Hey Ravi! can you please tell if we can measure the crack width of the specimens? and up to what accuracy?
