the ebl batteries are just have a number on them. the 1100's are 700/800 ma Sucker bait! I bought 5 years ago and were also slightly too long and inserted with difficulty in my flashlights, and BP machine.

One factor that you failed to mention is the self discharge rate. To me this is more important. How long can it be stored charged, and how long it will last in a device on standby. Nimh batteries used to not last long over time due to self discharge, but some newer types have very low self discharge and great to have on hand.

@DavidStrchld the self discharge could be tested in a future video. This would take a long time to do since the batteries would have to be stored for some time.

Both brands are sold as "pre-charged and ready to use" so it's fairly safe to say that they are pretty low self discharge. Food for thought

@@Krankie_V True but I have noticed quite a difference in brands with low self discharge claims. In particular Amazon vs Enloops. And if you are buying them to have some ready to go, basically as a replacement for disposables, it's a very critical factor as well.

@DavidStrchld alright, but if you're using the batteries so seldom that the (low) self discharge of these type of cells is a significant issue, it sounds like you really don't need rechargeable batteries in the first place 🤔

Amazon basics have been great as far as self-discharge is concerned in my experience.

Thanks for this. I have one of those chargers but the modes confuse me, Test mode (charge test is displayed), refresh mode (discharge refresh is displayed) discharge mode (discharge is displayed) and obviously charge mode (charge is displayed). I think a good video would be a tutorial on the different modes of that charger and how and when to use them. Cheers.

Yeah I agree, they are not the most intuitive. I'd like to do one with the older style that I have from years back, but it will no longer change the charge rate. It's stuck on 200 ma

Thanks for this test. Could you make a test about AA batteries:) 👍

Great suggestion. I tested the capacities of EBL and Amazon AA batteries, but I didn't do the cost per aH comparison. Here's the first review showing these results. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hY1ttauHibmzhLA.html In the next video, I'll compare the cost per aH and also look at the internal resistance.
