Great stuff as always. Just wanted to give you and your Flipwise reselling tool a shoutout. My wife & I recently were accepted onto the beta program and we absolutely LOVE IT! Very user friendly and the comprehensive breakdowns/summaries are exactly what we've been looking for since we started reselling last year. Not to trash our previous tool (MRG) but this is head and shoulders better IMO and I can't wait to see what else this tool provides once Beta is finished. Thank you for making our life easier!

I had a similar "How to get paid" situation. I sold a Pluto Plush, shipped the wrong one. So I sent her the correct one, no charge. She felt bad and wanted to pay for it. So, at her suggestion, I did a pencil drawing of Pluto (I am not an artist). Put it on for sale for $20.00 and sent her the link. She paid (she did not have to pay me at all but felt bad...Great eBayer).I made the mistake of not adding a routing number into eBay. So...I got dinged. Not a big deal, but should have entered the original numbers. I have to catch up on your shows I missed. This one would have helped me. Keep it up!

Something similar happened to me after I refunded a package that never scanned. The buyer was super decent and mailed me a check out of the blue. It almost made me cry.

I've been away from Ebay for 15 years and just now trying to jump back in. It's so different now, so I'm doing lots of research and your channel is the best I've found. I'm definitely signing up for Flipwise! One of my favorite sales from way back when was a guy that purchased an old chess set. A week or so after he paid for it and received it I got a letter in the mail with a long story of how he used to play it with his favorite uncle and was so happy to have found one just like it. Seriously brought tears that he took the time. Unbelievably, he also sent a check for $100 with that card to let me know how much it was worth to him. I sold things for lots of money, but that one is my best story. Thanks for all you do!

That payment tip is brilliant.

On selling stuff people up-cycle, I sell cashmere sweaters with holes in them. Yes, there is a market for them. They have to have labels that state 100% cashmere. I sell them as "cashmere cutters", they go to crafters, that use them as fabric to make items with. One buyer makes cashmere hats and gloves. A single sweater may net four to six pairs of gloves and four hats or more. I sort them by colors. Some buyers want a mix, some want complimentary colors. Thrift stores usually discard them. And if I take the sweater up to the register and show them all the holes, they will usually discount them. I also find them at the bin store. I sell them by the pound, selling a large enough quantity to make it worth the trouble. It's a win/win/win/win! I make some money, I keep stuff out of the landfill, the thrift store actually makes $ off a sweater that would usually toss, and a crafter gets fabric CHEAP!

I had a similar situation with a late-arriving package that I refunded. After looking over our correspondence, Ebay allowed me to give the buyer my PayPal handle for payment. It's good to know there are folks with integrity out there.

I had the same thing happen to me not too long ago. I refunded a buyer on a sports card that looked lost in the mail. Couple days later he contacts me and says it showed up and he wanted to pay me. I just found an old card probably worth 2 cents and I listed it at the price he owed, he bought it and it worked out perfectly.

The sony pressman was used by Best Buy employees that used to come into Circuit City and shop our prices on electronics. We did the same thing at Circuit City. It was up to the local managers to make sure they had better pricing on items like receivers or car stereos...etc.... too funny that you found one and that it was worth $240 to someone on Ebay. Nice pick up.

Ive only been getting one or two sales a day..with some days with nothing. Turning into one of the slowest months, February was better oddly. Ive been trying out a lot of new categories so it could just be a learning curve situation.

I too have the Mug Weakness. I also have about 20 mugs that I’m planning to offload in a yard sale sometime this summer. I’m really having to train myself not to pick up more mugs, unless it’s something really extra special!

I agree with the connection aspect of selling on eBay! I love when I find a cool vintage item and it sells to someone who really appreciates it for some special reason! I recently sold a Edward H. Biltmore Gemini Capsule 1:24 Precision Scale Model to a guy whose father worked on the project with NASA! We exchanged a half dozen messages. Always the most rewarding aspect behind the profit! lol

I'm still relatively new to eBay ( i researched it for 2 years before I started..scared)..I started Halloween and have had more success than i possibly imagined....I've sold approximately 200 items qnd have had 1 single return/refund and no negative feedback. Knock on wood! It's not always doom n gloom and nowhere near as complicated as I expected.. again I researched it for 2 years..when I first started I often miscalculated shipping..but 1 time I really messed up sending a heavy Brass military thingy..I'm in KY and it went to Cali.. shipping but me in the negative just a cpl bucks but negative. Upon arrival the buyer saw how much it cost and offered to send me the difference without any prompting or mention from me..I declined and said it was worth the education..but YES there is still good people in this world! Love the content and channel!! I've learned a lot from you!!

Had the same thing happen with me with a sterling shell bowl. Sent it back with a big black spot that I couldn’t get off back of it. eBay let me keep the money. Don’t know if they paid the buyer or not but I assume so because I didn’t hear from them.

Oh, have to write that payment workaround for my Auntie and Nana who sell their home items on Ebay, incase it happens. Yes, sales have been like watching molasses and they list daily, with new items. Not sure what is going on with Ebay.

Harry Potter books sell much better if you have the complete set. I'm always looking out for them at yard sales :)

Careful with Vuori as some say it’s a Vero brand especially if using their stock images. I’ve sold it a couple times and never an issue but just an fyi.

Things are slow for me too

I wonder when you have to relist your item at that really high price for your buyer to refund you. Does it then skew the sold comp numbers for similar items?

yes, it is likely why you sometimes see weirdly high prices when checking sold comps. I priced it high with best offers so no one would buy the item that was no longer in my possession.

I refunded a customer and told them to keep a remote that didn't work. It was a user error. They figured out how to work it. Reached out to me wanting to repay. eBay was ok with me sending them a PayPal invoice.....what you did was smart but feel free to ask a eBay rep that do they suggest.

You are allowed to use PayPal in these situations, an eBay rep told me that this falls under the guidelines for off eBay payment.

How do you like Flipwise? I'm still using my spreadsheets, which I love, but I can only get monthly reports on sales easily

We are the ones responsible for giving feedback about Flipwise. I still need to enter with a bunch of data on mine manually cause my spreadsheet it was incomplete but even without the full picture of my eBay account it’s been amazing to use Flipwise. Great tool ❤
