Grateful for this: I really appreciate how you put it together ... you flagged up how to go straight to the exercise for anyone just needing to act quickly; you spoke quietly, calmly and succinctly, as if understanding that people tuning in might well be feeling very stressed and agitated (and not needing a delivery that was long, loud, physically- demonstrative and potentially triggering); you gave options, time and space for doing the different parts of the exercise - important for anyone who may not be able to hold a sitting-up position, or to go at the same speed as yourself or to produce a swallow, sigh or yawn to order. Lastly, you gave a very helpful recap summary to remind us of what we'd just done and why, along with gentle suggestions for how to proceed. I will be following now.

I have IBS and have very very bad gas. I am bullied, ostracized, and have been physically assaulted because of my IBS. I live in a society that is shallow and judgmental. Many are ignorant about IBS. My co-workers and managers want me gone. I noticed that when I'm with family, my symptoms are less. That's because they understand and accept me for the way I am. That's when I realized that stress and anxiety really does have a big impact on my IBS. I've gotten so used to it that I didn't even realize I was anxious and stressed. Your calm non-judgmental voice and this small exercise made me feel relaxed. It really calmed be down and felt it in my gut.

@Creatural Shade the more we practice an exercise that engages our "safe and connected" part of our nervous system, the stronger it becomes. So lots of practice is great and many people do it several times daily. You may notice a plateau of effect if you're continuously in the calm state as opposed to doing this exercise when anxious, for example, then switching to the calming system.

Love your channel, I am a therapist and have shared a few of your videos with clients. However I am here to say that the laugh I got from the emoji pointing to the damp spot on you underarm is also highly therapeutic! I've watched the vid a few times and it still cracks me up. :)

I am deciding to aim to do this once a day/night. I need to change my life. And this seems to be a perfect beginning. Of course other things are needed. But this is a new healthy habit I need to add. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

I noticed that by moving my eyes, right or left, there was a time of adaptation with duplication of what I see on the right or on the left but then after a few seconds the vision normalizes; it's quite surprising and indeed the mobility of the heads is much better. Amazing exercise. 🙏

I followed the protocol and it was about a minute after the exercise that I really started yawning and then I rechecked my ROM and its was at least 2cm improved from my initial recheck right after the exercise. Thanks for this and I will continue doing this daily routine

A very calming video - I found when moving my eyes to the left and right that within a few seconds it was difficult not to close them. I remember watching an hypnosis induction video which suggested moving the eyes upwards as far as possible and I found as now, them wanting to close. I'm fascinated how this movement of the eyes activates the vagus nerve.

Thank you so much! Too bad we often don't know we're in a too stressful spiral until it manifests in pains all over the body. I had a series of almost fainting, they lasted hours each time. Left me almost crippled both mentally and physically. But the knowledge about how to summon the lose ends is not easy to find. Almost 4 years after my seizures I find an osteopath who started to work on my whole system. So thankful, I know it's going to take time but I'm hopeful. And then there's helpful souls like you on the internet, Thank you again so much 🌻

Hi Kyle, I had an interesting experience doing this exercise. When I looked to the right I started to feel calmer, and a sigh came easily after 30 seconds. When I looked to the left, my eyes immediately teared up. When testing afterwards for mobility in my neck, there wasn't much of a difference for me. But I felt like the tears released something, because I feel calmer now. It wasn't hard crying, just a few tears that dropped. Has this happened for anyone else, or is it just me? 😀
