Yea, Matt this one I kinda knew was easy but I was thinking there may have been something magical in it lol. Turns out it’s as easy as it gets lol. The variants here are of course the amounts of ingredients based on preference and of course the quality of the tomatoes but I’ve tried it a few different ways and liked it every time. Thanks for watching and commenting, Matt!

Everyday BBQ I will let you know!
I will be giving this a try this weekend. With fresh tomato's as I have a few I need to use up. It will be hard to let those flavors marry before I eat it. I like the fresh crunch of the veggies too so I will get a little sampling with some chips and pour the rest in a mason jar and refrigerate to marry for a day or two. Thanks so much for sharing.

We (me and 2 granddaughters) have made this twice, it was to sour for us, maybe from the brand of canned tomatoes. My wife added ketchup, about 1/4 cup. It worked great.
@EverydayBBQ
5 жыл бұрын
Nice! Yes, there are some brands that can be sour. I that ketchup sweetened it up I’ll bet.
LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING THIS RECIPE. DO YOU HAVE A RECIPE FOR CHILE VERDE THAT IS RESTAURANT STYLE?.
@EverydayBBQ
5 жыл бұрын
I’ve been working on one over the years but it’s far from perfected. I need to do some more experimenting lol.
I like the recipe. I don't like super thick salsa with tons of stuff in it. I like a smoother, cleaner thin salsa; Can't wait to try.
@EverydayBBQ
2 жыл бұрын
Enjoy!
Didn't have Jalapeno on hand, so used green bell peppers and a touch of Cayenne pepper, and a touch of Cumin. Just a bit of heat and that extra flavor from the Cumin. EXCELLENT!
Can I ask what brand of tomatoes? Believe it or not the brands taste different. Thank you. I'm going to make today!!
@EverydayBBQ
5 жыл бұрын
I usually use Red Gold or Hunts but any brand that isn’t sour works 👍🏼
Looks great,Mike. You've forgotten the best ingredients, tho lol....blackbeans & roasted corn.
Looks good Mike. Why over complicate it when you already like it??? I make salsa at home in large batches. Process the jars in a hot water bath. They'll be gone before they go bad!! Thanks for the info.
@EverydayBBQ
5 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%, rebel. The simpler the recipe the better. This didn’t last long enough to even reach its full flavor potential LOL
Looooks goood
I make my salsa the same way but I include cumin andSometimes I make it in the food processor.
Just in time for Superbowl Sunday, thanks Mike. (Might sneak in a little ghost mustard).
Did you use canned diced tomatoes? If so, what brand? Or did you use fresh tomatoes? If so did you put that in a blender cause the tomatoe didn't look chunky at all.
@EverydayBBQ
2 жыл бұрын
- 28 OZ of crushed tomatoes - 1 Medium Onion - 1 Large Jalapeno Pepper - Garlic (as much as you like minced or chopped, I used 1.5 tbsp minced) - Cilantro (handful or as much as you like) - Fresh squeezed lime juice (I used 1/2 lime) Salt and Black Pepper (to taste) Use a brand you’re familiar with. I believe I used Red Gold.
I made your salsa recipe two days ago and let it marinate for 24 hours. All I have to say is this is the best salsa I've ever had. Next time I make it I plan on adding some Serrano peppers for a hint of heat. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
@EverydayBBQ

MIKE. HOW DID YOU DO THE TOMATOES. DID YOU USE CANNED TOMATOESAND IF SO WHAT NAME BRAND?
@EverydayBBQ
5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I simply used canned. I believe I used Hunts or Red Gold for this. You have to be careful because some canned are sour. Thanks for watching, Stephanie!
I love the red color on that salsa... Next time try adding about 1tsp of cumin to it and I guarantee you'll love it brotha... I personally would add about 7-10 Serrano peppers to that tomato ratio but that's just me... Awesome video brotha Mike, keep them videos coming👍👍🍺🍺

IM ALSO STARTING TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE SALSA AT A NEW RESTAURANT IN SLC UTAH THSY OPENED UP CALLED MARIAS MEXICAN ( neat 2300 E. 3900 South area) RESTAURANT. Try it too. SHE OPENED HER RESTAURANT WITH AN AWFUL ONE AND I WATNED HER TO CHANGE IT AND SHE LISTENED AND REPLACED IT WITH THIS NEW RECIOE I LOVE. JUST WISH I HAD THE RECIPE. MAYBE YOU CSN FIGURE IT OUT TOO.
I tried this and it worked out great! But i did a couple of things differently. I cut up the onions and peppers, put them in the crushed tomatoes and put it on the stove, added the seasoning stated above (pepper, salt and a bit of balsamic vinegar) and let it cook until the onion became half soft and a substantial amount of the water had evaporated. Then i cut up some fresh tomatoes and parsley and added them after I turned off the stove. I let the whole batch cool and enjoyed it very much with some chips. I also added it into my Fajitas. It was great! Thanks a lot dude ; )
