    Zach, you did such a good job on this lure. It sure would be great to see more builds like this, especially since it is in the Channel's name. I really like the process of creating a lure, but don't watch very many 'painting only' videos. That's why I came back and re-watched this one!

    Thank you! Trial and err for the weight until I got it right lol. I have a ton of test baits I did until I got this pattern down. Really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to your paint job. I've been messing around with making gliders lately, and never seem to get the weighting just right. Out of curiosity, how deep do you drill? And is the amount of lead critical to the action? Keep the great videos coming!

    Different amounts of weight and placement can make a huge difference in the action, especially if your trying to make a suspending bait. I’m drilling in just over a 1/4”. All depends on the action you want. I’m still experimenting with different weight placements haha

  • @seanp9157

    @seanp9157

    Жыл бұрын

    Dont use tungsten putty! I tried on a few of my first ones and it eventually caused problems. When I first saw the stuff I was like this stuff is perfect. But when it's in your bait and it's a warm summer day, the epoxy gets softer. That means it can move around easily and whatever you used to seal it in will start to fail.

    Absolutely super glue works. Just a few drops and that thing is stuck in there forever. I tested it out a bunch of times on scrap wood. I however still use the epoxy because that's what I started out using. I even tried it on a piece of straight, smoth wire with no threads on it and not twisted. That too is permanently in a piece of scrap wood.

    Make a template of a Hinkle shad. Bigger bait than this one. Almost impossible to get for a reasonable price. I’d love to build a few of those.

    So build one! You dont need an exact template. It's a trout profile.

    @@seanp9157no. Hinkle Shad is a Shad profile like the name says but much bigger than this bait. It’s also a resin bait. Would need to build a mold. Too much tinkering for me to get it perfect. That’s why they are expensive.

    You can drill hole on side of the lure and put small leed weight and use hot glue gun to feel that hole with weight. Level that extra glue whit send oapit and that is it. No especial tool or machine .And is is oerfect
