Have a question I followed this recipe but my pie came out dark on top does the room temperature eggs make a big difference

It can make a difference. That is probably why the color was different. But the color could vary for a few reasons….it could have been our ovens are different (if the texture wasn’t perfect maybe cook 1-2 mins less), the lighting of this video vs your lighting (if the texture was perfect!), or even grass/local fed egg yolks are typically darker than store bought (which I had to use) which could change the color too. Hope that helps and that it tasted good!

No canned whipping cream for me! It takes just a few minutes to whip your own, and it's much better!

we prefer homemade too but we had this and it made do lol

I used 6 eggs, 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk a half cup of lime juice and my filling came out runny like milk 😢

Oh man! That stinks! I’m sorry! I’m sure you did both of these things - but just to make sure….Did you use only the egg yolks vs the whole egg? Did you whisk it thoroughly when you added in the lime juice? (That’s when it usually thickens up)

@@KimKalee I used the whole egg 😒🤦‍♂️ I’ve had it in the fridge for hours now and it thickened up, but I can tell it won’t be quite right. I will definitely try again hahaha

Oh man! We’ve done the same thing before! It’ll still taste ok (we ate it all LOL), but it’s not going to be like the original recipe (aka out of this world delicious). I hope you’ll try it again.

Key lime concentrate?! 😅 No way! True Floridians gotta use actual key lime juice, squeezed fresh. Also, a handmade crust is way better.
