Hi everyone, I made this for a university class a couple of years ago as an assignment and didn't think of anyone ever watching it. Glad it's helped some people. If you aren't sure which relay to get, I have 2 suggestions. 1. Pull it out and inspect it for a part number. 2. Read the specs of your unit online on the company's website. Good luck!

My water cooler stop cooling, call a “water cooler technician “, he didn’t even go to this part of the unit, told me my board was bad, (as he did direct power to my condenser and it came on) which seemed weird to me (and I voiced that but hey I’m not the technician) that the ONLY part of the board not work was the cooling part. Said he’d look for a board for my water cooler and I paid the service charge (which was 50$ as he was giving me a break from his regular price of 75$) Saw your video, ordered on Amazon that cost me 7.99$, put the part in myself and it’s working perfectly .

Worked on my car as well. AC was not working for years I thought I had a bad compressor which is very expensive. It turns out it just needed a new $12 AC relay!!!!

I just finished cleaning mine up after a couple of days of having it broken down. I noticed while doing so that the styrofoam casing is cracked. I just put the new bottle on. Everything seems to be running ok, but the bottle doesnt seem to be cooling. The body of the unit feels cold to the touch. Do you think I need to patch the crack? I have a Crystal Mountain cooler. Thanks.

How did you get that black plastic casing. Over the relay off? I don’t wanna break it lol

It’s also recommended to change the overload when the relay goes out.

How you get the black cover off of the relay

Which one did you order?

"Same issue" as a couple of you. I have the part. But it's no use if I can't get to it "TO" change it. There's a black cover and I don't know how to get it off without breaking it. HELP!!!

Hi Jacob! I just watched your video and I'm hoping that it's just the relay switch for my water dispenser. It's an older model Sunbeam. The model number is: YLR2-5-67H3 Would you happen to know what type of relay I will need for this particular model? I'm not even sure where it's located at either. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You should be able to find the manual for the unit online and find the part number that way. Or call Sunbeam and ask them

Mine keeps freezing

My compressor doesn't turn on but I hear the unit click to try to turn it on. I changed the relay but it didn't fix it. Any other ideas?

I would look up the product on the company's website and look at the power diagram. Try to see if there is any other relays, switches, etc. If there isn't, then maybe the compressor is shot.

I’m having the same issues. Compressor is not on but hear clicking sound. Did you end up figuring out how to fix it?

Also keep hearing the clicking sound, as if something is trying to turn on but nothing is happening.

that could mean you need more freon

do yourself a favor if you're a parts changer, and that's test the relay first before you go out and blindly buy another one. since it may not be the culprit to the problem.

How do you test the starter relay? Do you use a multimeter?

Your camera guy sucks. Too much movement and not clear shots of the components. Just saying. Good explanation though.
