Mid 50's Single Cutaway, P90'd charm in a classy build without the high price tag. If you're looking for custom shop quality (and above) without the usual hit to your wallet, you should look closely at the SB55/v-SB and indeed the entire Eastman Guitars range. They don't compromise. Great stuff.

Beautiful guitar! When/if Eastman make their version of a Special I’ll be all over that!!
Buy this guitar! Seriously, you will not regret it. It’s a really well made, high grade instrument. It totally holds its own with my Custom Shop Fenders and Gibsons. Not only that, it has a vibe and personality that makes you want to keep playing. It really brings a smile to your face.
Hi Brett, thanks for your wonderful video. Have just grabbed on of these, a little late to the Eastman party. What an amazing guitar, super happy with it. Thanks for bringing these to my attention
mine just arrived. These are truly amazing guitars.
I just ordered one! I can’t wait!
Brett, thank you for this demo. I waited a long time (9months) during 2020 to get one. I finally gave up. I guess I should have stuck it out!
I got one of these two weeks ago and it sounds amazing. Craftsmanship is great and it's light. I also love the neck profile. It's a keeper!

Jimmy could you please tell me what the neck profile is like compared to a Gibson? Is it a 50s Vintage, or a Slim Taper, or a Rounded? Thank you

@@adajay9257 it's a fat 50s style neck. It's pretty thick, but still very comfortable to play. I took a little bit of the gloss finish down on the back of the neck as it felt a little too sticky to me initially. The guitar is absolutely fantastic though.
Love these axes
Just ordered one of these. Cannot wait to put it through my Victory Sherriff 22.
The SB55/v is my first Eastman, and it plays like a dream and sounds incredible! My friend who plays a Jr. was highly impressed and said it played and sounded better than his. You are well served to spend more time with that beast Brett! Well done!

I tried out two Gibsons before finding the Eastman and I was disgusted. Rough frets, intonation issues out of the box, nearly unplayable. I played a couple riffs on the Eastman and handed my money over. Too good.
GREAT GUITAR PERIOD
Getting this guitar was a bit of an epiphany. A single great P90 is really all you need for a ton of great sounds. It’s become my main because it works with every amp or style of music I play.
Great demo 👍 I love my own eastman t486 and can strongly recommend them its was perfect right out of the box. except for a string change ofc 😅
Awesom mohagany axe.
Nice Brett !!! - Oh man - i gotta get me an Eastman !!!
that crunchbox sound... jeeesus christ
Love these guitars hate the aging
Love me a chunkasaurs neck !!
I own one of these. Jesus christ it is nice.
Well I got it today! too right Brett it's a pearler :) or 'it's a reet monster' as we would say here in the North East of England.
🤘👍🏿
They make a double cut to thats the one im going to check out but cant find anyone in los angeles that has one to try out
It is not a nitro finish. It is a varnish finish that has a French polish. More labor intensive, it is what the put on their classical string interments which is what Eastman is know for. Mine is not quite that light @ 6lbs. 14oz but still very light. The neck is 1.72" at the nut (which is real bone) and has a soft V profile and is around .88 (1st) to .98 (12th) thick. The fret work is flawless, the guitar plays like it just came from a highly skilled luthier. There was a mention of Harley Benton I guess because it is also a Chinese made guitar but that is like comparing a Buick to a Porsche. They are really Custom Shop grade instruments at very reasonable prices. It is nicer then my American made Fender and Gibson. They are guitar's that need no setup, mods or upgrades. Mine came exactly as it was spec'd, the only thing I did was drop the bridge a hair and add a little more relief because that is what I like but you could easily take it out of the case tune it up and never need to touch a thing. They are amazing sounding instruments.

I played a pair of USA LPJrs and was kind of disgusted by the quality for the price. The Eastman is cheaper and plays like it cost double what it does. I plan to buy one of their 335 copies soon before people catch on. These things really do feel like custom shop items. The only downside is their limited color options, but the available colors are gorgeous.

@@mskcrc Don't get me wrong. It is better for Eastman to offer 1 color, but do it right, unlike the other brands offering 100s of colors and not doing anything right.

@@adajay9257 totally, I just wish they had maybe one additional style per model
which one do you prefer, the singlecut or the doublecut?
I just tried one and it sounded and played amazing--but--when I palm muted the strings would hit the pole pieces and make annoying noises. Couldn't ignore it.
I am starting to think I should have gone this route over the SB56 Gold top I just ordered. Does the 55 breakup earlier than the 56? Great demo my friend.

Hey Brett - did you have a preference between the single or double cut?
@BrettKingman
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I prefer the double cut for the look and chunkiness. The single cut played and sounded a little sweeter, though. That is a special guitar and whoever ends up owning it will be very happy, I think.

Very very nice but the problem is Harley Benton have this and the DC which are extraordinary for their price and you can have 2 and change compared to the Eastman versions.
@BrettKingman

The Harley Benton is in a different league, Neil. It's built to a price point whereas the Eastman is built to a quality standard. In my opinion it is not a 'problem' so much as a difference - and quite a big one.

@@BrettKingman Yes I see what you mean and I agree a lot of the HB's are certainly built to a price point but I must say my HB Jnr' DC is really quite faultless in quality, fret ends, tuners, playability and sound. Obviously these HB's are being built in a different factory?
