Very impressive Richard ...Eastman have probably found a magic doorway to satisfy those of us who want a quality that is sadly no longer available unless you have five grand plus to spare Congratulations To them and the skills of the workforce ...nice demo thanks .Phil

I still have my Gordon Smith Graduate 60 ..and surprisingly it still remains my favorite go to guitar for recordings and all gigs it is so versatile and the sound is clean and awesome since I bought it in the 80 s ,however I do plan to buy an Eastman SB59v soon also it,s very bluesy.Best regards ..Phil

Sweet guitar man. Lovely looking guitar & those pups sounded like Seth Lover PAFs or '57 Classics, lovely warm tones with that great Gibsonesque crunch & growl.

Remember the production models won't be in the UK until April time. If you are keen to get one to try you can place an order on my site with literally no deposit and no commitment to purchase. We would simply get the guitar setup ready for you and make sure its not sold to anyone else until you have played it. Thanks for the positive feedback. I am on my live chat service most hours of the day and though late at night if you need me!

I have an Eastman T59/v (ES-335) version of this. It really is an amazing guitar and even more of an amazing value. I could agree more, by the way, about the comments about how great these varnished guitars feel.

LOVE your video Richard! I looked up the Eastman webpage...these guys sure do KNOW what they're doing! Top quality archtops, acoustics, thinlines and now their 'first' solidbody...can we expect more to come from them?

I just bought the SB59v and its awesome. Also have a relic nocaster and its still the best guitar I have ever bought. The finishes are both great. Apples and oranges.

Very cool looking LP style guitar from Eastman. Did they also emulate the chunky vintage neck profile. I can't find the measurements anywhere. I'm particularly interested in the SB56 goldtop with Lollar P90s.

That is one beautiful guitar! I like how it looks warm and old without looking like it was dragged behind a car for three miles and knocked off a bar stool a few times! That's not the kind of instrument I would want to own! I want one that appears to be loved, not just abused. I think the difference between the 59 and the Antiquity pickups would largely be the magnets. The 59 uses alnico 5s and the Antiquity I think uses alnico 2. I know you can make a 59 sound like a Seth Lover by swapping the magnets. I've done it and it really makes for a softer more musical pickup. Thanks for showing off the Eastman.

Love the comment about an instrument that looks loved... Exactly. Why would anyone want to suggest that they treated their guitar with contempt? I once read in a guitar magazine, as a suggestion for ageing a guitar, that you should throw a bunch of keys at it. Don’t think the editors were endorsing that mind!

Big difference in the pickups is that the 59’s are potted and the Antiquities aren’t.

Hey there Mr. Richard , I believe the first video of yours I ever saw was the other SB59 that is a gorgeous thing as well. That Eastman makes some lovely instruments don't they ? I have looked on there web sight and there all there lines are really nice, these SB59's are going to really take off though (imo). Are you playing thru a Peavey I have been looking at those I really like them , man that sounded so good when you were just picking around like getting some tones , It sounded like a sound check by a rock band in a huge arena - do you know what I'm saying ? Anyways I wanted to see 2 great relics play so... lol , theres a compliment in there I hope you know !!! ;:->) all right Richard thanks , David

Giving some serious thought to chopping in my Duesenberg for one of these. Good as the Duesy is, its not a Les Paul and the Eastman, as good as it seems, is not a Gibson. A lot to think about....

Just to have it posted here Seymour Duncan says Antiquity ; Authentically aged humbucker set delivers the aesthetics and tone of the most elusive vintage P.A.F. humbuckers. Now Seth Lovers set is a PAF tone also but the Antiquity pick ups are like you said darker or actually more custom shop flavor they sell for $269.00 vs $219.00 for seth lover set $50 more wow, that's pretty nice stock pup's there.

These look great; makes me want to sell my '78 LP standard! I own an Eastman AC5 sounds better than Martin or Taylor or Ayers and matches anything for finish. My bro has an Eastman jazz box, again just perfect. Best value around in my opinion. Just purchased a La Patrie classical from Richard and recommend him; but don't buy a violin from him, he doesn't know the difference between a STRAT and a STRAD!

Beautiful sound, I know it's a bit churlish, but the inlays...they should have gone for something more original looking, they really put me off buying one, they went to so much trouble to make a perfect guitar, they should have gone one stage further to set them apart visually, sounds great though. great video!

I have the SB59-GD and the SB59/v. They are far better than any of the Gibsons I have owned over the years (over 10 of them). I have a 2013 SG and a 2013 Les Paul Custom and they are nowhere near the quality of the Eastmans. The sound, the playability, the fretwork...everything. Eastman makes the better Gibson. Sorry if you don't like that fact. lol.

I recently got one like Richard is demoing here. First off, it is SO great I cannot believe it. (And I have lots of other high end guitars to compare.) The playability, the tone.... superlative and so inspiring. And, no, my Gibson LP really needs tuning at least every song, but this Eastman hardly ever seems to “remind” me to even check, and when I do, it’s usually so close that it’s practically still IN tune.
