Eastman SB55DC V Demonstration

Музыка

Chris from Maple Street Guitars puts the Eastman SB55DC/V through it's paces. This guitar is another great entry into the Eastman line of electric guitars, harkening back to the early days of rock.

This is the fire-breathing tool for rockers. Nothing beats it when hooked up to a good overdriven amp. And no...you do not need 2 pickups. Back the controls off and there it is - neck pickup.

Eastman ROCKS ! Look at that nice wine red color. The tone ! - 1 pickup. The - "Less is more approach". I think every guitarist should have at least 1 kick ass no nonsense guitar in his or her arsenal !

... a very very good guitar... may be better than the Standard products of Gibson... sure so... equal to the custom shop products... und sounds amazing.... but... it sounds different.... there is a difference in the Sound between both.. Gibson and Eastman

If they made a two-pickup version, I'd buy one yesterday.

@@multipipi1234 it's an Okoume neck with a medium-ish C shape profile. Neck is slightly on the thicker side.

Does this come aged. Hardware looks aged abs the body looks aged in samples I’ve seen.

Yes, all of their Antique Varnish models include aged hardware and a form of aging to the standard finish. It's not "dragged behind a truck" level of relicing but rather wear that does feel more authentic to how a guitar (especially one with a hand-rubbed finish) would naturally age. It's a cool look!

    Okoume is not mahogany.

@@maplestreetguitars Thank you. I think a company that makes decent guitars should be proud of the materials they use. Its a fine timber and its not mahogany and that should be part of their selling strategy; not worrying about what it isn't.

Biologically no, it is a member of the Balsa family. Still, at least for most European markets the statement in the video was not wrong, since the common name used by timber wholesalers is 'Gaboon Mahogany'. So, the comparison is not an invention of Eastman marketing (and they correctly call it Okume in their spec sheet), but an established practice since decades.
